Thought I'd include two of mine...one for regular downloads, the other for all downloads.  Bleak.

Here's my 2011:

Now here's the really sad news: my best month there (January) is equal to my worst month of 2010. And this January is tracking at 50% of last. Yikes.

Wow, I'd like to see a rising graph for a change.

Another interesting thing is that, judging by those 2 exclusives that had them, are very rare and it looks like they bring less than an average EL. So earnings wise, you're better off selling via PP

ETA mtilghma is the 3rd with GI sales, but in that single month he got some, it looks worthwhile to contribute there

You don't get an option about contributing to GI. If you have V/A files they go there.  I've got 12, most of which selected in the first ingestion, none of which I'd have expected to sell over there. The half-dozen of so files I submitted for Vetta after the first ingestion were rejected. One in particular irks me no end when I see subsequent acceptances of that topic, but there you go. I haven't submitted any for about two years.
Someone with 100 or 1000 V/As will no doubt be doing much better.

Also, although I got accepted to Getty via the previous scheme, I didn't accept, mainly because of that US tax hassle thing.

Don't make any inference about GI by looking at my chart. If I only had12 images at SS, would you be surprised if I wasn't getting any sales there?

Should have included earnings.  It's still bleak.

well, FWIW my two BME for both downloads and dollars were in 2011....but sales so far in January are strange. I seem to be getting almost my usual number, but they include lots of old, buried files. I guess a sale is a sale, but I prefer to see newer stuff selling consistently.

Finally someone adding something positive, even inspiring (to some exclusives). Congrats, way to go, sure looks like you could be getting into six figures in 2012 ;)

I'd expect dusty panorama to sell there...

Yeah, those are the file types that really make it worthwhile to be exclusive. For example, Sean's DL numbers are way way down, but because of lots of V/A stuff he's producing lately, his earnings were down just 5% (if I remember correctly). The same thing applies for the rising contributors, of course.

You didn't accept? I'm not sure I follow. Are you in (now) or out?

In fact I would be :) . Even only 12 photos, if they were half decent (speaking generally), would make some sales, at least in the first month or 2. But sub model really isn't comparable to macro, that's what I really wanted to point out.

Okay, I'll share.  Here's my 2011 stats.  We're already half-way through January and I'm at 25% of what I made for all of last January.  So unless the next two weeks pick up considerably, it's going to be my worst January since many years ago.

this is roylaties but the downloads graph looks about the same.

Out-ish. A while back there was some scheme whereby you could apply to be accepted to send RF photos directly to Getty if you were exclusive and silver or above. To my astonishment, I was accepted first time, and was initially very chuffed. But when I thought about the 20% and the American double tax whammy, I never signed the contract. Also I haven't opted my Flickr pics into the Getty programme.
But my few Vettas are in Getty: it's only 20%, but as the payments come via iStock, that rings round the US tax thing.

My sales this month started OK, but have tanked.
Today I'm getting lots of blank (white) pages, 503 errors, extremely long loading, and at the moment I can't get onto my profile page at all via FF, or IE, latest versions of each.

Same here ... anemic sales ... far below 1 year ago ... a few sales of files which while good images IMHO have never sold before ... lots of technical problems today.

Sometimes pages are blank, sometimes information is missing.  I was looking at stats and the graph titled "Regular downloads by file type (updated daily)" has nothing but zeroes.

Amazing how quickly PP has overtaken iStock itself for both downloads and revenue.  Also how steep the decline was from August to the end of the year.

It's interesting to see as the year goes on that as PP goes up IS goes down. Correlation?

Perhaps this is the proof to all those SS nonbelievers, even haters, that are against subs and always bring out the RPD figures. It's the bottom line that matters ;)

What correlation, IS is going down for most users, bronze or BDs like Sean and it doesn't matter wether they're opted in or out of PP. The sub system obviously works best, SS is proving that as a #1 MS site and now TS is proving it again. Although they are both on a steady rise, they're not taking sales from each other. It just proves buyers prefer it and what's more important, we get more as well, no matter how pathetic the RPD is.

That being said, yes, I'd prefer if there were no subs plans, if prices were at least double and DLs on a steady rise. But we're not in 2004/2005 anymore, some ppl need to wake up. Not directed at you Paulie, you seem to be doing well at IS anyway. Just explaining my theory, which is backed up by some stats posted here

I wish... VERY few people make 6 figures a year at IS.
Reaching 3K a month would be a good target for us.

I'd guess it's a factor, but not the only one.  There are plenty of explanations for the decline I see in my direct iStock revenue.  PP is one, but I doubt it's all the success of ThinkStock banner ads and customers moving from one Getty property to another.  There's still that decline in downloads starting in September.  I see the opposite trend across all my agencies: up, not down.  And my StockXpert revenues have been flat-to-slightly-down over the same period.  That suggests that iStock is down quite a bit, and ThinkStock/Photos.com are treading water, not growing at iStock's or any other agency's expense.

I think someone at iStock must be reading this thread. They have disabled displaying monthly stats so we can't do any more screen grabs to post here.
