30% higher than 2024, not bad.

Down 15.6% on Feb 2023, up 20% on Feb 2024 and up 36% on last month Jan 2025.

not a great month, but not terrible.  a little below the recent average but 15500% increase from feb, 2024 (that is the actual percent increase, not an estimate).

Income half of February 2024.

How much content did you upload in the last 12 months?

18 files.

Compared to February 2024, revenue in particular has fallen. In terms of downloads, it was also less, but the main problem is a significant drop in RPD compared to February 2024.

How well does niche footage perform for video producers who upload to iStock?

Does iStock favor niche content, or is it more suitable for generic, high-volume clips?

I've had great success with my niche footage on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and pond5 where I can achieve higher-value sales. However, I'm concerned that niche content might be undervalued on iStock.

I have the impression that iStock is better suited for high-volume, generic clips, while niche footage content performs better on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and Pond5.

It looks like the merger with shutterstock didn't do Getty any good.  ;D ;D ;D

Upload all your video to ESP (iStock) and find out everything. I don't think anyone knows the answer to your question. If you sell your video by subscription, the prices on iStock will be even higher.
If you have a good video, then on Getty there are sales at high prices.

Earnings 2% better than Feb 2024 and 7% better than Jan 2025.

Awful RPD on IS: $0.43

And that makes February my worst RPD ever (over 15 years of stock) at $0.59.

But watch out! March is doing even worse! Right now, after 19 days my RPD is $0.57. Downloads are good, but the very low RPD is making me miss out on all the download gains.

Really? That could make it worthwhile, then.

I'll give it more time. I've just started uploading, and I'm not unhappy with my photo sales. I'm feeling a bit uneasy about the very low video sales though, but I guess I should allow more time to better understand the type of content that works best on iStock.

I just don't want to undervalue my niche footage, especially since it performs well on AS, SS, and Pond5.

danielvisuals, if you upload different content to different stocks, then maybe you should become an exclusive author on Getty. With your works you will be taken there. Get very high prices when selling your videos.

It's simpler for me, I upload all my videos wherever they are accepted. It's faster for me.

Better sales numbers but much poorer rpd made this Feb almost 20% worse for $$ than last Feb.

A relief to be heading back up again after a slump in January. $$ 84% better than January, 25% better than last February.

I was focussing on Adobe and ai in the last two years. This year I will be getting back to doing camera content that will go everywhere, including istock. I also have a backlog of editorial content to process, but just haven't found the time.

I wanted to reach a certain stable level on Adobe, before getting back to "activating" other agencies.

istock is my oldest port and many files still have very good search positions, so I am really curious how it will do when I start with steady active uploads.

Same here. Missing the higher value sales I was getting last year.

The upward trend I was beginning to see towards the end of last year seems to have ended, and now I'm back to pre 2024 levels. It's like playing snakes and ladders with istock. I'm seriously thinking about leaving this industry for good.

btw guys, 15% is pathetic and always has been since the beginning.
