Ok, iStock is definitely going down these days... Just out of curiosity, anyone knows what is happening this time? I just got this kind of message when trying upload:

"File uploads have temporarily been deactivated for all users. Please try again later"

Woot? O.o

I noticed the same thing last night.  I wonder if it could have something to do with the upload limit glitch reported in another thread.  Maybe they were completely flooded with images.

Still,  as if this should be top priority?  with so much going on and not working?  I mean who cares, really?  I didnt even notice it was unlimited until somebody here pointed it out.

As for uploading,  I am waiting until things are sorted out properly, site is working and the best match changed so that new files doesnt end up at page 500.

No I didn't, I tend not to read theirs forum since they simply delete unwanted treads. :/
Thanks for linking this one, it explains things. :) I hope they will deal with the problems they have rather then making things worse what usually takes place under such time pressure...

okay.. so anyone know what are the "circumstances beyond their control?"  and "Entops Team"?  someone asked it in that istock thread but no answer, of course.

perhaps the "Entops team" is the entropy operations team - it is their job to increase entropy on the IS site. They have been working overtime. :)

entops = entertainment operations   maybe they're busy organizing another istockalypse?  :D

Googling produced an "entop" as some computer process to do with some sort of nodes that are (maybe) something to do with Java software. So perhaps its a computing term. Or perhaps they are just talking gibberish at HQ now. In which case, for those who see the world in Monty Python terms, "No, I don't understand that banter at all."

I'm guessing "Enterprise (Level) Operations".

well they never answered the question, so I guess Entops and the "technical glitch" are a big secret.  not sure why it has to be that way.   I guess istock folks haven't realized that even for little things they should just be a little more forthright if they ever want to begin gaining back community trust.

Maybe Istock wants to make it easier to stop uploading to them?

One of the big advantage of the new type of trust Istock has is that it requires no effort on Istocks part, it is self implementing.
