Maybe others have already pointed this out, but I just noticed a couple more recent posts about CC fraud involving iStock here: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-403-265-3062/5   I imagine only a very small percentage of CC fraud victims would post over there so it seems to me that there's probably still a fair amount going on....

No, it can't be true. They had a conference call and apparently everything at Istock was OK because Istock said so.

Correct, all participants of the phone call were assured that IS will do everything humanly possible. Obama has been informed and the armed forces are on stand-by.

As I just learned, the IT staff is still at school. Right after they had lunch and did their biology homework they will get right on it.

Well, all the Vetta images are front and center so iStock is making it really easy for them. The can lightbox the whole page and buy with one fell swoop.

After the conference call I made the prediction that another round of fraud deductions would take place at istock during this year. So far, it looks like my prediction is a bit more likely to come true.

that's what I was thinking, but that last one from 4/2/2011 about the charge being posted 3/29/2011 is a little worrying.  If one person looked up and posted on this website how many others got a charge that did NOT bother to search online and post about it?  I thought the fraud was under control, but if there was fraud that posted as recently as 3/29/2011 that seems to be an issue.

Yep, that was basically my point in posting.  I haven't followed it quite as closely as some have I guess, but I figure two fraud issues reported to that site alone in the past couple weeks is significant - if nothing else, it tells us iStock hasn't been able to plug the hole that's allowing them in.

Hi everyone. I am new here and was trying to start a new topic about this under the iStock message board, but don't have the option of starting a new post. Is that normal for new members on this forum?

Meanwhile, I thought I would add my message to this old post on the subject since I can at least add replies to existing posts. About half an hour ago, in a matter of about 1 hour's time, I had about 12-13 XXL downloads on iStock in a row. All the same type of pictures as well. It is a bit worrying in terms of possible fraud I would say. Has anyone had any similar patterns of downloads in the last 2 hours or so?

I am only trying to determine if it might be and if there was a pattern forming today on iStock and/or if it was an isolated case. I do hope they are legit sales of course, for various reasons obviously, and was hoping to compare notes with anyone that might have experienced any similar activity today.

I don't have that experience, but it might be worth contacting Support, if possible by phone for a quick answer. That could put your mind at rest if it's legit (odd for a Sunday, for sure), but could prompt them into checking it out if there might be an issue.

It's called skimming and they actually install a second reader and a camera, to record your card information and PIN number. (ATMs are a favorite) For anyone who wanted to know the facts instead of a quick swipe at it.

I still haven't figured out why people would steal large numbers of stock images unless they were going to re-market them, which means they not only steal the downloads, but they have a resale value. They aren't getting used on Websites and in print media!     Double fraud.

If the card numbers and authorization are real and the CC company accepts the charge (it's their security not IS as I've tried to point out before) then the problem isn't IS but the CC companies.
