iStock 30/week upload limit?

(1/3) > >>

fintastique:
been out and about in the Scottish highlands increasing my mountain/winter/skiing portfolio and now back to upload it all.

Can stock seem to have lifted their 10 pictures/day limit at least for me. Though an 8 day queue for reviewing.

I was pleasantly surprised after not submitting anything to iStock for a week I could upload 30 photos which i did so then found I couldn't upload anything for another 168 hours (one week to the rest of us).

Is that their new rule? or just because I had stopped submitting for a week.

Fotolia seem to have pulled their finger out (after the endless wait for feedback) some of my photos were reviewed (rejected) within minutes of submitting.

I got this on the front page just now:  (My limit is 40/168hrs as per this note)

After several days with no uploads, we realize you may have a backlog or a series dying to get up, and with current limits - a series can turn into several spread out days. iStock is going to meet you at the middle ground.

New uploads limits are now by the week (7 days) and not by the day:

Grey/Newbie: 30 per week
Bronze: 40 per week
Silver: 50 per week
Gold: 60 per week
Diamond: 100 per week

After 6,000 inspections yesterday, and still rolling strong today, the inspectors are getting a good taste of what is weighing down the queue. When the gates re-open, please use the new limits responsibly. The biggest thank you for the inspector's busted buns is: be your own editors.

Stock Checklist:

1) Does it have a subject?
2) Is there clutter in the composition that could be removed?
3) Is it optimal lighting? (This goes especially for outdoor photos)
4) Is it the most interesting angle?
5) Could it be more closely cropped to remove distraction?

Me again...

So basically they're saying there's too much crap in the queue....

That's not hard to believe, as I know at least one person who sits at 60% rejection ratio on there, but keeps on uploading all sorts of junk.

Not that it worries me, I've never managed to upload 40 photos in one week. (I'm 'bronze' on IS)

Cheers, Me.

Striker77s:
Its about time they did that.  That makes it much better than a daily limit.

i agree.   I like working in clumps way better.  This way as well, if you miss a day you can still upload those photos the next day.
