Hello, I do not often upload pictures needing a model release, however, I just uploaded a few with the standard form in pdf. The form has been accepted everywhere, except with IS who asks for an electronic version from an app called "easy release"... which costs $ 12.99 with android ... can I use another free one? Is this really the only app that IS accepts?

IS message :"Release: We only accept digitally signed releases created with applications approved on this article: https://contributors.gettyimages.com/article.aspx?article_id=3069"

thanks

I use a slightly modified version of this one to upload to iStock, never had a problem.

Though mine are always printed out, signed by hand, and scanned, before uploading to iStock. It reads like perhaps you went the all digital route? Maybe that is why they insisted on easy release.

I used the same form from Getty, signed and scanned just like yours... I understand that they want to go 100% digital with an application (Easy release) ... more and more complicated to upload on IS

I also use the modified one from Arcurs site, thou sometimes I get a rejection because of the date format, I don't use US format, but usually reupload solves it.

Did you upload using mobile app?

I never have any problem submitting paper releases.

I've always had problems with iStock releases. Now they refuse them because "date on photo EXIF does not match date on release".

How can that be - there is no Date in my EXIF - I remove it always before I send the photo??? Probably they are looking at "modified date" of the file itself, and of course that is not the same date as when the photo is made...

So that is why I stopped sending them photos with people, it is not worth all the hassle.

I do write in US date format, however, I also spell out the month. So there is no ambiguity, no matter which country's date format.

Funny thing is that I always have an ID front copy on release with birth date clearly visible in the same format, so it seemed only logical not to mix date formats across the release.
That's a good tip, I'll start using it.
