With the latest changes to the site, I cannot figure out how to rate images or how to add them to lightboxes....

can anyone help with this?

This functionality will be restored.
For just now you can't rate images, and you can add to lightboxes only via Search, not directly from a file.

From the OP announcing the upcoming change:
Anticipated Issues
Several features from the file close-up page need to be rebuilt as part of this process and will be unavailable immediately after launch. These include:
• Adding files to a lightbox directly from the file closeup page (adding files to lightboxes from a search results page will be unaffected)
• Image Zoom
• File rating (existing reviews and ratings will still be visible, and sort by rating will still work)
We will get those features added back in that order of priority.

I just went to the site to pick that out, but you were quicker. ;)  Plus the site is responding super slow, at least for me.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Yup super slow. Some timings at the current end of the bugs thread in the Help forum.

Also, the process to get there is painfully slow. Searching, image details, view cart...
Finally got through to a 503 page. When I tried to reload, I got "Thank you for using iStockphoto. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your transaction at this time."

and there have been search issues:

I wonder if ALL buyers are smarter than me and have a clue how to implement the solution:
"... the only way to solve this has been for me to switch back and forth between using the Google dns and the OpenDns servers"
I haven't ever had to do this before, or heard of it, and have no idea how to do it.
Doesn't matter for me. I got some white pages yesterday, but a refresh seemed to bring the page up, and I'm not a buyer.

Are other people getting sales from iS today? I guess they must be or I'd be reading complaints!

Big thank-you.....

I do wish they had thought to make these changes during the 3-day holiday... resulting bugs would have been less impactful.

It is probably slow due to the crush of credit card buyers jamming the site with many image purchases.  It'll take a little time for that to get digested properly and then all of are sales will start appearing! Woo Yay! ;)

Why break the habit of a lifetime?
Besides Lobo said, as he locked a thread asking the same question: "I don't expect the powers that be would have picked a day/time that would detrimental to the business", so it must be so.

Don't know if what I wrote above was true (that you could still add to a lightbox via search results, though not from the page). I got that from the forum, but I certainly can't do it now.
