It is my first time to upload photo to IS using deepmeta. The process is total different with DT uploading which is very easy and quick.Using Deepmata,I have to key in t he keyword for each photo even same topic (any copy and paste function available in deepmeta? ) and I can not copy the category time by time as well.Frustrated!

When do the same job in DT,i just drag the photo to ftp tool and upload it in the night and add keyword in the next day.Regarding same topic,I can use input the Photo ID and the website copy paste automaticlly....it is done and very freindly especially for me (my mother language is no english)

Any tips to make it more quicker or suggestions? thanks

Why don't you use IPTC metadata ?

Yes, you right click on it and 'copy'.  Then you right click on the target and 'paste'.

Even though I use Deep Meta to upload to IS (because their site upload has been so broken so often I got fed up) I always put all the keywords into the IPTC data in the file. I did that as an independent because it really streamlined multi-site uploading, but I still do it as an IS exclusive.

You need to keep your investment of time in keywording where it belongs logically - with the image being keyworded. You can use those keywords in Lightroom, with any other tool that reads keywords, new stock sites you later choose to upload to...

Deep Meta does help with being able to do the disambiguation for IS offline which is nice.

yeah, I wish I had learned the IPTC keywording task sooner!  now I'm going back and adding that in as I start my adventure as an Independent.  It really does make life easier, even with Deepmeta.  :)

IPTC keywording is means giving the keywords in lightroom or Adobe Bridge? Sorry I am newbie here and even newbie for microstock. As you said,if I input keywords into the IPTC data, then the upload tool such as Deepmata or other ftp tool   can read it automotically? If yes,it will be very nice .Thanks for you all patience and reply. So kind you are!

Now I don't feel so dumb. :) It has been a nightmare. For the longest time I'd never even considered leaving istock, so I did everything during the upload and didn't give it a second thought. I've had to go back and edit every single image to add IPTC data. The quick and easy process of uploading to most other sites has made it well worth the time, and has definitely highlighted how cumbersome it is to upload to IS. I can see why everyone's been complaining about it for all these years.

You can use Photoshop and add IPTC also.

True, but it makes more sense at the image management stage before you convert from raw because you won't have to do it again that way.

Not sure what you mean by doing it again. I shoot RAW, open in RAW, edit the photo and then open in PS. I edit more and add IPTC. The photo is saved as a jpg. Then uploaded to all the sites I contribute to. In my particular workflow, there is no doing it again. Do you keep the file RAW so you can go back and make image changes? I am interested in hearing about your workflow.

my personal workflow I use Adobe Bridge to select the best images from my shoot, then I edit the IPTC to add the keywords, title and description.  then I edit in photoshop, save as JPG, and finally upload.

Even if you use Lightroom to enter the keywords, I think it is as important for the keywords to be in the PSD and the JPEG file you create (assuming you do any editing in Photoshop; for me, that's 100% of my images).

Lightroom won't be around for ever - or put another way, it may be that your images will outlive any particular piece of software. Having the keywords in the JPEG or PSD means that anything that can read the image data can read the keywords, so starting over again is a whole lot less hassle.

While the RAW file is very important to keep (a) it doesn't get modified by any Lightroom keywords (they end up in LR's database and in the other file formats you generate) and (b) it isn't what you upload.

I've been switching over to using Lightroom (had resisted until Lightroom 3 came out) but that won't alter my view of keeping the keywords where the image data is (and secondarily within LR).

Yes, I do keep the RAW file and the sidecar file, and I also keep a .psd as a master copy.

I will check again tomorrow but IIRC you can write keywords to jpegs in Lightroom without having to re save them. IE you can change the metadata without having to re export the image.
