I'm really getting tired to upload images on IS...not because they refuse 50% of my photos  ;D...but because the procedure is too long and unfriendly!
So, this morning I uploaded another image...title, description, category, and keywords...push "Proceed" and...OMG error!
I put number in the title...i forgot about it's my mistake but sometime happened.
What make me angry is the attitude of the site...title, description, category, keywords, all disappear!
Why I can't just modify the title?
Why I've to repeat all the work? It can make you smile...it's just one image after all...but we also the same situation after IS reject an image and make  possible to resubmit it.
Is it a software problem or just they want make us thinking what we are doing before upload?
Or just make us give up ...
I'm not going to give up IS but hope to see a new system as soon as possible.
In my opinion this procedure is the real weak point of IS, is good to be strict to keep high the quality but no reason to complicate the ( already boring ) procedure.
What's your opinions people?

Yes, their upload procedure is a pain.  Occasionally I had this total loss of edited data - the worst part is having to go through CV again...  But if an image is rejected with "can resubmit", if you upload a new file I don't see that problem.

Yes is true but recently IS doesn't accept information from file...
Anyway IS software still very poor, on Stockxpert site I can just replace only the image and keep all the information!

yeah deepmeta sure helps but it is still a pain.

it is also a pain because iStock bases their keywords on lots of double words like
business man
head shot
looking at the camera
curly hair

etc... all the other sites don't have that keyword set, set up, and so if you want to use those 'usefull' words at istock you have to basically keyword your image specifically for istock, which for me, just isn't worth it.  For better or worse, I think iStock is going to become more and more exclusive in the future and less and less independent photographers.

I think the business with losing keywords, description and title is just a bug - it didn't used to do that.

Don't know why they haven't managed to fix it yet though, surely can't be that hard and it's been reported several times.  I guess all the programmers must have been working on the new best match and the new "Collections" just announced!

I'd like to know if it happens to still work for exclusive contributors. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't one more 'perk' they reserve for exclusives.

Fair enough - thanks for the info.  I guess my suspicion meter is registering a little high.

Maybe a little tips for those who upload batch of the same subject. Make all the keywords for the picture 1. Then go to the description of picture 1 and write all the final words in picture 2. Then copy and paste all the keywords of picture 2 in 3-4-5... Just change the irrevelent if the scene is not exactly the same and add new ones.

I know it still a pain but it make the upload 3 and up a lot quicker. Remember that 8-12 keywords is enough at IS, because EX: the terms "achievement" and "success" will show the same results in the search... At least I think

Can't imagine any contributor actually liking the time it takes to upload to istockphoto.I don't use metadata as i only average about 20 uploads a week. While i wait i just go over my keywords or read.
