Hey!

I just bought three alienbee 800watts and I need to get some sort of power supply for outdoor shoots

Any ideas? what does everyone else use? Gas powered Generators?

Honda diesel generators are the way to go...

They are quite compact (pretty easy to carry in the trunk of your car), silent and very efficient.

bye.

I assume a lot of people would use the Alien Bees Vagabond battery system to power their AB strobes.

Or a really long extension cord.  Walmart has those ;)

Ouch... Sean... I didn't know AB had such battery system!

;)

I don't have experience myself but have heard that a number of people prefer a generator over a battery because of the extra power. A generator isn't much larger and won't go dead like a battery.

The ideal setup is a motorhome or RV trailer.  Use the generator to keep the battery charged and write off your RV as a business expense.   ;D

PS: You could also use a shorter extension cord.   :o
