Well it was never really open for business for most here, but it looks like we lost another one:

Quote
We regret to inform you that Deutsche Telekom has decided to withdraw its Polylooks online photo agency from its portfolio. It is planned to phase out the service by December 31, 2010.

Therefore, we are hereby terminating the Agreement between you and Deutsche Telekom AG, Products & Innovation, based on the General Terms and Conditions for Licensing of Image Materials for Online Portal Polylooks as well as the General Registration Conditions for use of Image Portal Polylooks. This termination shall become effective with expiry of December 31, 2010. Your photos will continue to be available for sale until then.

All image licenses already issued or sold to licensees before this termination date will remain valid after December 31, 2010 allowing licensees to continue using the purchased images in future.

Your credit balance will be paid out to you automatically after that date. We will provide you with details of the payment in good time. For answers to any open questions you may have, please go to our FAQs

We would like to thank you for the trust you placed in us and our service.

Yours faithfully,

Your Polylooks team

that makes 12 sites that used to be in the monthly microstock polls that have now gone under.   Added to that is all the sites I didn't bother adding to the poll in the first place.

nice move, after paying us for uploading through zoonar just a few months ago! microstock is a weird industry

if not even deutsche telekom can succeed, who else can among the new agencies?

So are you saying there can be only five? ;)

Ouch just when the sales via Zoonar started to roll in :(

(I remember Zoonar said something about new microstock partner sites, they propably knew the fate of the Polylooks site already)

Bad news for Yaymicro contributors too as this was one of their new "third party" re-sellers. I was hoping to see a boost in Yay earnings from the Polylooks deal. Regards, David.

"Zoonar has acquired Alamy as new partner agency."  (from the email sent by Zoonar to contributors) . . . .  not really a microstock site but I think that is what that statement refers.

And there is this:

"Zoonar is shortly going to activate further partners. Among other things, we've planned to provide a new worldwide active partner for all the microstock photos."

So Great, lets see what happens.

We have a new partner for microstockphotos too, but i don`t want to tell names bevor the contract is realy signed. So please wait 2-4 weeks. We are also have negotiations with some more interested partners and hopes to find 2-3 additional partners for each price level at zoonar. That`s a good way to get more revenues but i think the best way is to have a good growth rate in the own sales. And we reale have it since our relaunch in may 2010!

Polylooks was a content-partner but also a competitor on the german market. Every coin has two sides...

Great!
But maybe you could simplify a bit the process of chosing partners, licenses, releases...? it actually takes a lot of clicks and time

If they were actually getting any sales I don't think they would have gone under so I don't think we would have seen much of an increase

Maybe it's just coincidence but iSyndica and Polylooks died on the same day. Zoonar is kind of doing what iSyndica could not do, upload once and distribute to many.

I am very surprised Polylooks is getting closed (taking into account all developments already mentioned above)...

There is an automatic-release-button Do you find it? It`s  at "my profil / manage photos" at the bottom.

But you`re right: we will offer a faster way as alternative for photographers. But some works will stay forever, like Release-Settings (Model and Property Release), License- and Price-Settings and so far. These points are indispensable for distributing photos.

The new "edit pictures" window is much improved, thanks.

The new "edit properties" section is great indeed. I didn't notice you alread did what I asked in my previous email, even before asking!
What about introducing the multiple drop-down lists in "partner management" as well? (for some reason automatic-release doesn't seem to work for me)

Same here. I activated the automatic release to partners but it has never worked for me and need to manage the partners manually and individually.

Does that mean you'll have room to add StockXpert to the poll, since they are still operating and still paying commissions? ;)
