I uploaded about 20-30 cards earlier this year.  I stopped after a week cause the site was so unproffesional and boring.  I would redo it from scratch if I were u.

Ps. When I try to check my sales I click on "status" and get to a blank site.  Not even the tiniest text saying "zero"

Hi, Clivia! I have been admiring your templates.... I have only about half the number of templates you have on the site so I have a ways to go yet. But I agree with you 100% that it really is fun creating the templates and I am amazed we can sell an image 1125 x 675 and the client doesn't even get the digital file after the sale!

In addition I agree with you 1000 % that the PBC site could use a more professional appearance on the home page... that's something that surprised me the first time I visited and still does!

Have a great day today..... today it is absolutely magnificent in my area of Florida!

How to contributors receive payment - is it by Pay Pal?

Yes, you receive payment via payal directly to your account..... it's smooth and easy and they are VERY consistent in paying. Also, they don't "hold back" paying you until you have X amount of sales. They pay you if you have have just one sale or however many sales you have that month.

I would suggest you click on the "info link" in my original post and ask Tim ANY questions you want..... he'll respond to you and help you.

Have a wonderful day wherever you are writing from!

Just sold a business card template along with the art file.  :)
A good incentive for me to upload more there.

That's great Epantha! That means you got 5.00 for the image and and extra 20.00 for additional use..... 25.00 bucks for an 1125 x 675 business card size image :-)

I wish you continued success.

sounds good to me. Just that there really is a need to revamp the website. i cant believe that you still manage to pull in the business with a website like this.  :P

it would be great to see links to portfolios from the card pages etc. It's not very user friendly at the moment, but I'm sure that will come.

As a matter of fact the site started a contest ............

to see who could come up with the best home page "facelift".
I think I pushed the owner over the edge this time with my
suggestion for a home page update  :-)

Well, I don't seem able to sign up for this.  Apparently the only way to sign up as a contributor is to e-mail Tim.

Did that last week and once again  I don't seem to have gotten a response....???

Lisa,

I received your email and responded right away. You did not receive it? I have been looking for your registration to come through since then so I could send a follow up email. I will resend the information to you. Please let me know if you receive it.

Thanks,

Thanks Tim.  Not sure why I didn't get the e-mail.  Maybe aggressive spam filtering on yahoo?

I did just get your sitemail.  I appreciate the help getting started.  The site sounds good and I will begin uploading some templates as soon as I can.  Seems like a fun and different way to make money with my images.  I'm looking forward to seeing how it works for me... :)

Thanks again for for your help!

Thanks for letting me know you received the information. Perhaps there's a way to add my email address to your Safe Sender list? Hopefully that will avoid future email issues w/ Yahoo.

Look forward to seeing your submissions! Thanks!

Yahoo has been acting strange for quite a while since November 2008. I 've had quite a number of people who never got my emails sent to them from yahoo. Not just faraway countries, but also locally. I told them to check the bulk mail but they were not there either.  I now opened an account with live.com and my emails are not getting lost . So far , at least !

I'm not sure sending out the membership to spread the word in this way is really a sensible idea.  If you want to grow your membership, you should buy an ad in the sidebar advertising it.

I feel we are a little harsh on this one. Maybe the photosecrets episode put us on our guard. I didn't see any referral link from the OP. Somebody mentioned this site two years ago as an extra way to monetize content since this link is still in my xmarks. After all, they are not trying to sell us something, but just offer an additional way to make money, like all microstock sites.

DISAGREE WITH YOU  this time sjlocke  8)    As FlemishDreams points out, this is no different from Keith coming in here to invite us to Zymm, or John coming in here to introduce Cutcaster, It ENTIRELY different from photosecrets.
Tim McWhorter is not selling any books or get rich quick snake oil. He is offering us here the same thing as IStock offers to submit photos.
"a fun and different way to make money with my images", quote lisafx.

Hey , look on the bright side of life, less worries for you exclusive at  Istock

Right. Would they have a business card template already for snake oil professionals? I have gecko's geckos here in the house, and cockroaches, ants and mosquitoes, and three giant toads. Didn't see a snake yet. I'll use some coconut oil instead, until the next tropical flash flood flushes all the snakes from the jungle in the street again.  :P

I just had a re-look at the site and they really need a programming and GUI facelift. If you forgot your password, you have to call a number in the continental US. Hmmm... All their email is on a laptop, I just read, and of course that one is backed up on a RAID with 0 bytes capacity. There is certainly some room for improvement, but the idea in itself is great, and as far as I can grasp, they don't have any serious competition. Yet.

well, Tim visits here often , so he will be interested in what you just said. Also you are right about them not having serious competition yet. Which again means a good thing for anyone who is kickass in design . As you see here there are already 4 interested in what Tim has to offer .  A healthy start for sure. Of course, being successful in micro does not necessarily mean being successful in business card design. But at least , we are all starting at the same turnstile. And hopefully it won't be reduced to subscription and paying us 10cents for our creative efforts. I say,  Tim's got us interested, and for those who are not interested, C'est cool for that too. It wasn't Tim who came in here asking, it was someone else. Tim's not twisting nobody's arms to join. They can stay with IStock and he's not going cry ... I 'm sure. 8)

Oh sorry, correction, Tim McWhorter only came in to say it wasn't him but one of us who added the thread. So this argument is really moot. Those who wanted to join have probably joined except for lisafx who did not get the mail.
So, not to worry sjlocke, we won't push this on you.
But how about this one, that requires your vigilante ?  Definitely one that competes with IStock...same kind of business, hmm?

hey sorry people and most of all to Mr. Tim McWhorter, if i stirred up something by resurrecting this posting. i only wanted to  get some input from the rest of those who have already joined before i did, to find out what the review time is after i submitted my first business card templates. it wasn't mean to resurrect any unnecessary debate regarding whether this posting is conflicting with microstock or not.
in future, i will do my further communications directly with Mr. Whorther .

cheers.

Hello Everyone,

I appreciate the frank discussion and I agree with the suggested revision of our website. So much so that we are in the process of having it redesigned as I type this post. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks we'll have a sharper looking "front door".

I also want to say THANK YOU to those who have contacted me with your interest in our program. Several of you are in various stages of getting your portfolios published on our site. I look forward to having your templates available to our customers!

Please feel free to leave a private message here for me with any questions. Of course you may also email me directly. I believe my email address has already been posted here in this thread.

tan510jomast: I have the information you sent via the website for your portfolio page. I need to get it written and sent to you for your approval. Once the text is finalized, I'll get your templates approved and your page published.

Thanks again!
