Hello everyone,

My name is Chris I'm a London based UI / UX designer, a microstock photographer in my free time, and also like to build things that make our lives better. For the last 9 months I've been working on a new microstock analytics tool called Stockhub (https://getstockhub.com [nofollow]).

If you want to read more about me and what made me start Stockhub, here's a quick interview I had with Amos a few months ago: http://www.mystockphoto.org/meet-stockhub/ [nofollow]

Stockhub is invite only for now but if hit the request an invite button I'll make sure to get back to you as fast as I can.
Is Stockhub something that looks interesting to you? Any questions, please shoot!

Not particularly, but I'm not all that focused on the big 4. So, I'm probably not the target customer.

I'm probably not your target audience either - I largely left iStock after the Google-Getty deal and I'm not with Fotolia. I note that the article was done in May and dreamstime and 123rf were coming "soon" but they're still not on the list on your web site 6 months later.

Bottom line for me, even if I were with all 3 of the agencies you support, is that 5 euros a month (nearly $80 a year at current exchange rates) is too much for a tool that tracks 3 agencies.

You don't say anything about whether you are tagging the data you move to your servers with a user name (I know you say you don't store passwords) - are you planning to share the data you gather as part of offering the tool. I don't see a privacy policy on your site. I would not be thrilled to find out you were marketing the aggregated data as a separate product if I were a user of Stockhub. It would be good to be explicit about any uses of the gathered data (and I think that should be on an opt in basis only if you do want to start offering comparisons with other artists or offering data to agencies.

It'd be nice to see comparisons of the current month to both the previous month and the same month in prior years - do you have such comparisons (overall and by agency so you can see who is on an upswing and who's in freefall)?

Thanks for your reply Jo Ann you raised some very good points!

We started with the top 3 agencies because these are the ones most of our beta customers care about. Occasionally I get an email asking for Pond5 or 123RF support and I would love to say "yes" but so far the focus has been on polishing our initial product offering based on these integrations, and once everything works well, we will extend our functionality and integrate other agencies.

On privacy: The data we collect will not be shared, sold or made available to any 3rd party and a privacy policy will be added to the website before we make Stockhub available for everyone.

Comparisons: There's no side by side comparison between two data sets / periods but you could compare last 30 days' downloads / earnings / STR with any other month in the past. Showing data is simple, but ultimately nobody wants to see data. What we want to see is how we can perform better, what type of content has been successful and when.. that's where Stockhub will make a real difference.

Hey!

First of all - I really like the UI. Great job!

Issues:

 - shutterstock sales are not reported for me in real time in "latest downloads". I mean, I get the correct revenue and everything, but there are no thumbnails (or any data for that matter) from SS. Only Fotolia and iStock. Is this a bug or a feature? Images from SS start appearing in the feed only when the day is over.
 - the graphs below "revenue per download".. not very straightforward. At first I though this is distribution of my income over agencies, but in fact it's not, it's revenue per download. I think my idea might be more useful, but keep both, so that people have a choice.

Suggestions:

 - it would be great if an algorithm could recognize identical images over agencies and merge them into one item. It would be very useful to see how some images compare over agencies. And not just images, collections of images as well!
 - you know this, but - support for more agencies

If you want to be competitive (stockperformer, microstock analytics), you need to provide at least as a good service as they do. I see that your project has a lot of potential. :)

Hey Spike thanks a lot! This is good feedback! :)

Definitely not a feature. This is happening because we have sale times for Fotolia and iStock but not for SS as they don't mention when the sale has happened. Currently all SS sales are 'grouped' at midnight and appear at the end of the latest sales list.

I agree it's probably better to separate the two and make it clear that the second one shows Distribution.

We recently introduced the photos panel which is the first step in this direction. Groups (matched images, manual at first) and Collections are coming pretty soon.

Yes :)

Working on this. Thanks!  ;)

Is it just me, or did iStock reporting stop? I tried updating a couple of times, but to no avail...

I can't see any problems with iStock but let's have a look at this. Are you getting any errors when you are trying to sync? Also, what type of sale is it? [email protected] [nofollow]

Nope, no errors. And all the other agencies update timely.
It's normal photo sales. Weird.

Hey Luis! I'll have this fixed in the next extension update but until then we run a script every few days to address the duplicate sales. Please check your dashboard everything should be back to normal now.

I see other people's sales as like they're in my portfolio.

I mean, great info for me, but I don't think that's a feature.

EDIT: I think that's actually a problem with thumbnails, I see thumbnails from other people because the same id from my video file is attributed to a picture. So my video files are actually represented as random thumbnails from other contributors. Debugged that for ya.

Also, other sorting options in the "Photos" tab just don't work. And when you revert to "earnings", it's buggy too. So you have to refresh the page.

Hey Spike! Can you please shoot me an email with more details? [email protected] [nofollow]
Thanks!

EDIT: The sorting works but it's not very intuitive at the moment that you can change the order by clicking on the same dropdown item again. I'll look into this, thanks!
