I am happy to present a brand new universal tool for microstockers worldwide -  Pattern Preview bookmarklet, which shows the tiled preview of any microstock seamless pattern with one click inside your browser window. It is absolutely free and everyone can easily install it.

It works great on virtually every microstock agency website. We succesfully tested it on most popular microstocks including shutterstock, istock, fotolia, dreamstime etc.

check it out here: newbielink:http://www.oksancia.com/pp [nonactive]

Both buyers and contributors benefit from this bookmarklet.

This sounds like a very useful tool.

And now 1,328 pages of my dictionary need adjusting to accommodate your new word. For *'s sake, don't do anything that uses the word 'toy'! ;)

Thanks MarkFGD!

Well, the word Bookmarklet is not our invention (see Wikipedia). Some people consider bookmarklets to be the coolest thing after sliced bread :) One of my favorite is Redability: newbielink:http://lab.arc90.com/experiments/readability/ [nonactive]

Cheers!

I see, it's a bookmark combined with an applet.

A quick question. Would contributors making images intended for use on web pages as backgrounds be able to include your bookmarklet next to their images so buyers have instant access to it or do buyers need to install your software first?

I was in a situation, only yesterday, where this would have been useful.

Thanks, Oksancia.

Thanks for the interest, Mark. In principal yes, you can embed it directly on a webpage where the tileable image has been posted. You just need to create a hyperlink and as the location put the abracadabra text from the original post at oksancia.com (see the iPad installation). However on practice your microstock agency may not allow crating hyperlinks of his kind. In particular, it is not possible at iStockphoto. So better buyers have this bookmarklet installed.

What you can do for sure, is to refer to the original post newbielink:http://www.oksancia.com/pp [nonactive] below the image you sell. Alternatively you may place the instructions how to install the bookmarklet on your own blog/website/etc and refer to your own resource :) Of course I would appreciate hyperlinks to the original post from your blog ;)
