That's really cool!

2 questions:
- Will you continue to develob stocksubmitter, or will it be replaced by the new web based service?
- will there be a way to import configuration from stocksubmitter save files?

Thank you for the feedback everyone! :)

@sturmwarnung

1. Of course we will, this tool is an addition which can be used together with StockSubmitter or as a standalone platform whichever suits you better!

2. It is, in fact, already fully integrated with StockSubmitter!

To enable it, please go to the Agency settings in StockSubmitter, select Microstock.Plus and click "Enable". The settings will be synchronized automatically.
You can also enable synchronization of your local release database with the server using the corresponding checkbox on the Features tab in the program settings.

After that you can either upload your files directly to M+ (via website or FTP) and tag them there OR tag images in StockSubmitter, select Microstock.Plus uploading checkbox among the agencies you want to get your files submitted to and click Upload like you did before - the program will upload your content to M+ and launch the uploading process from M+ to the selected agencies.

So basically the system can suit any workflow :)

@MircoV

At this point we decided to use our resources for other core features and just integrate existing keywording platforms and they don't support showing thumbnails of the content you tag.
However, we have plans to implement our own perfect keywording tool in January (we've gathered lots of feedback from our users to know what it should be capable of) that will show the thumbnails of the content that's being tagged for sure :)

Thank you Niakris.

Actually i am not talking about the keyword suggestion tool. I mean the regular place where we start to enter keywords. When selecting a photo i click on the edit icon then a screen appears for keywording and adding description. That screen doesnt has a thumbnail what makes keywording rather less practical ;).

Thank you.

Mirco

Oh, that's actually not that hard to implement :) I've added that to the to-do list and will implement this week, thanks for the idea!

Two questions: First, I sign in using my Stocksubmitter login and it says, "This service is under construction now and only those invited to the beta can use it. "
Did I misunderstand or am I doing something wrong?

Two, I've read the blog, and posts in various places and I'm still not sure I understand what it will do for me. I've been using Stocksubmitter for a long time, and am happy with it. Not sure what the new site does in addition Of course, if I could look at it, I might understand better.

Edit: Ok, actually three questions. If I enable it in Stocksubmitter, what does that do for me in addition to what is already being done?

Thanks

Hi :)

1. As I wrote in the article, you need to enable the access for yourself first using a link from the article :)

2. Well basically at this point it's a way to save your bandwidth and time by just uploading the files to the service and telling it where should those files go - it will take care of the rest (uploading & submitting without requiring any of your attention or requiring to keep the program running). We're planning much more though - analytics, keyworders, etc.

3. It will allow you to upload files to M+ with a single extra click compared to the normal uploading with StockSubmitter. In addition, it will automatically synchronize your settings with the service. And if you opt for it - synchronize your releases with the server and keep them up to date on all your computers and on M+ automatically.

But you can use it directly.

1. Is there a way to add my pricing to Pond5 and creative market when it is working?
2. Will you add Canva as an agency?
Thanks
I look forward to using it soon

1. Of course, just click the "Pricing configuration" button in the metadata editor panel.
2. We plan that, but cannot promise any dates yet.

EDIT: Looks like this is an Shutterstock issue. Sorry for the confusion

Just started using this. It seems great.
Although I noticed on one batch of images it said they were uploaded but 1 images was missing in Shutterstock.
Will this happen often? I will have to go through and check which image is missing.

This happens sometimes due to Shutterstock ingestion system issues. Don't worry though, the system is watching such files and will re-upload them automatically if they do not appear at the website within a week.
If you want to re-upload earlier, you can select the file, assign 'ready' status for Shutterstock to it and re-upload it manually.

Getty blocked our API keys to access their API.
If you happen to have working API keys you can specify them in settings and upload to ESP with SS/M+.
We cannot provide them nor do we encourage using this feature in any way.

That's a classic Pond5 bug, their processing is slow and unstable in general.
If the system notices that an uploaded file didn't appear at the agency website within a week - it'll automatically re-upload it given you didn't remove it from M+.
So don't worry and let the system take care of your files :)

Hi, thanks for adding me to the beta users group. I've added the following agencies, Shutterstock, Dreamstime and Adobe. Upload 10 photos to each of the agencies all with titles, descriptions keywords and categories. The following is what happened when I checked each agency site.

Shutterstock - no keywords, no title, no categories
Dreamstime - no photos uploaded at.. this may be a known issue
Adobe - no titles, not all keywords included (example one photo had 30 keywords, but only 23 show up on the adobe site), but some keywords appeared that were not my keywords

Love the concept, the design and the friendly ease of use, and totally understand we are in beta

Probably you've checked it too quickly.
Uploaded files will always lack metadata if the agency doesn't fill the fields automatically. It's the same as if you would upload files manually.
After uploading the files the system will check the agencies websites every 15 minutes or so to see if the files have appeared.
Once it finds the files there it will 'submit' them, filling all the fields and sending them for review.
So all you need to do is just to wait for the submission to happen (should have happened by now).

And of course some agencies are slow with processing the uploaded files (like DT) so if the files did not appear yet it means the website is still processing them and the system will submit them once they appear at the website.

Hi, 24 hours later still no images on Dreamstime that I uploaded.

Bug - when typing in the title or description field and want to go back and add a word in what you have already typed, you can only type one character at a time, the cursor jumps to the end of the text after each character you type. Hope this makes sense.

Is there better performance with a certain browser?

1. The system will automatically re-upload files if they didn't appear on the agency website within a week. So just let it be :)
Alternatively, you can change their status to Ready for Dreamstime and re-upload manually.

2. It is a known Safari bug. We thought we've fixed it but it seems it still happens... Will think what we can do about it. It's kind of a 'blind debug' since modern versions of Safari don't work on any OS that can be installed on a regular PC.

Thanks, Niakris, shifted to using Chrome and that text/title issue goes away.

One thing I've noticed is that the drop down for categories for DT doesn't seem to stay in alphabetical order.
Also entering my login details for Pond5 and the site is not saving the login info.

What kind of files do you take? Only photos? Or also videos?

Can we also download our own files back down from the cloud? So would it also be an online backup?

It looks really interesting and might save me time or allow me to add more agencies.

It's actually pretty much release-grade right now.
All of the main features are there, agencies support is stable.
We're still improving it of course but that's normal process - the same we do for StockSubmitter despite it's nearly 9 years on the market :)

Our keys have been blocked by Getty so we cannot provide them anymore. However, you could try asking in StockSubmitter telegram group, I heard someone has them there.
I'm not encouraging anyone to do anything though.

How can I get access to your online beta? The webpage here (https://microstock.plus/beta) says that you aren't taking submissions but as of yesterday, my local app isn't able to connect to the login server. Two months earlier, on your Facebook page, I reported that the keywording stopped working but got no reply. Are you aware of these issues?
I'm on Mac and seems like there is no new version to update to, and the current online version is in beta, access to which is currently closed. I'm completely stuck!

I'm having the same issue - largely with Dreamstime, Alamy, 123RF and Pond5. Some are being submitted but I can't work out how to try and force submit - do I just click the 'upload/submit' button again? I can see a batch of images on my DT account that haven't been submitted from an upload a few weeks ago.

I'm noticing an issue where the Description field in Bigstock and Shutterstock is getting populated with the Title field values from MS+(this isn't happening on Dreamstime for instance). As such, all my editorial photos got rejected since the title isn't formatted appropriately for the editorial submission. Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround at all?

Yes, please disable passwords remembering in your browser for microstock.plus website, it's your browser that's putting data there.
Microstock.Plus is keeping your credentials on a secure 'blackbox' server and it's not possible to get the data from it back so when you open an agency configuration page the system won't put any information in login and password fields, they'll be left blank.

If the system says "submitted" but the files are still in pending it means they're in the queue for review. Sometimes it can take months for 123rf.

Hi there, are there any known issues with duplicate uploads to Alamy? I've added about 100 photos to microstock.plus about a month ago and they keep getting re-uploaded on Alamy. I now have 4 instances, the 4th one having been uploaded to Alamy this morning. I haven't even logged into microstock.plus in a month as just came back from vacation!

Probably the system doesn't see the files at the website and re-uploading them because it considers them lost by the agency.
You can assign the submitted status manually for the files to stop the system from re-uploading them.

Thanks, I'll try that. Any way to do that systematically?

Also, it's not doing it for the other agency where it has an incorrect status. For example, Shutterstock.

It's doing that only when the following conditions are met:
- files still have 'uploaded' status;
- the system NEVER seen them on the agency website;
- there are no other reasons for the submission to not happen (submissions are not used up, there are no parsing errors, etc.);
- a week has passed since the file been uploaded.

Something must be broken in the 2nd condition then: the files in my case have been uploaded repeatedly to both Alamy & Depositphotos. They have all had successful submissions earlier, so they should definitely have been "seen" on the agency website. Can you look into that?
The 4th rule explains why I've seen 4 uploads (roughly once a week since that batch was initially uploaded) on both Alamy & Depositphotos.

Second condition is definitely working correctly, however, with Alamy it's not so easy because sometimes their website is not returning all the unfinished files when we send a request if the files were too long in QC. So some of them may not be ever 'seen' by M+. But it shouldn't happen all the time normally.
For DP I never heard of such issues so far.

Please send to me an example of a file ID that got uploaded 4 times to those agencies.

Sure thing.
Item ID   5cd7b6affe3b176f1dc29969
It actually got uploaded to Alamy 5 times.
Image ID: TWKP56
Image ID: TD07WY
Image ID: TBME9G
Image ID: TA31RE
Image ID: T8B4CN

Item ID   5cd500a54965f91620cbecf1
Uploaded to Depositphotos 3 times:
275482388
269238366
266739788

There are many more, but it's hard to sift through many similar images. Last 2 uploads on Alamy had 33, the previous 3 had 53, 13 and 53, in reverse chronological order. Not sure about Depositphotos as they don't batch the images.

I'm changing the status to submitted and it changes in my list of agencies but when I log out and back in it's showing as 'File not ready' image example would be item 5ca5f11a0bae911704a2f664

@SvetlanaSF

According to the logs, those files were uploaded to the agencies websites but you didn't have any submissions left so the system didn't submit them.
Probably you've submitted them manually but didn't change status to 'submitted' so the system assumed the files got lost by the agency and re-uploaded them after a week.
If you submit files manually please mark them as 'submitted' in the web interface.

@2checkingout

Normally you cannot assign the 'submitted' status to files that are not ready. Please fix their metadata issues first.

Can somebody please explain why the 1st agency shows "Submitted 1.", but at the same time still has a submission countdown ticking down despite there's nothing else waiting to be submitted to it? And I assume the ones that show they were uploaded, but still haven't been successfully submitted an hour after, haven't yet been processed by the agencies? Thanks!
Title: Re: Microstock.Plus: The first cloud platform to manage, upload & submit any content

@2checkingout

Please look at the error message the system is showing you next to the not ready status icon and try to fix those issues before trying to assign the submitted status.

@notaslave

The program doesn't know whether more ready to be submitted content will appear at the agency website or not, it is just checking every 15 minutes and submitting everything it finds there.
The uploaded status means that, yes, but you could also check the agency website to see did they really not yet appear there.
There also can be some errors after a submission attempt that you can see in the "Errors" button.

Oh now I see what you mean.
The message is definitely vague.
So what actually happened was this:
The system attempted to submit this file but Shutterstock didn't accept it, stating that there were spam keywords in it. Normally M+ automatically fixes such errors by marking keywords as correct (or removing them if there are too many of them and Shutterstock doesn't accept them), but you've disabled this feature in Shutterstock settings in M+. So the system is reporting that the file is not ready to be submitted (generic message instead of specific one).

I was able to change your image status to Submitted without any problems. If it'll get changed back to that error message, then probably the file is still there in the unfinished section at Shutterstock, so M+ keeps trying to submit it and keeps failing at it because of that error.

I would recommend you to do the following:
- Disable "Don't autofix minor errors" in Shutterstock settings in M+, or
- Correct the keywords of the image in M+ to make sure it contains only keywords accepted by Shutterstock without warnings, or
- Check the Shutterstock unfinished section for this image and remove it if you don't want it to get submitted.

Is it normal for DreamsTime FTP uploads to not show up on their website for 48+ hours? And hence, metadata for these files still hasn't been submitted by the StockSubmitter (as it can't see any of the files on DT), while 4 other agencies I currently submit to were marked as "meta submitted" in no more than 24 hours, some a lot sooner. Is there a problem with DreamsTime FTP maybe? Thanks!

You see DT "stuck" at "Uploaded" below, while all others have been "Submitted" long ago.

Hello,

about 48 hours ago I uploaded 3 video files to your FTP server (using StockSubmitter) and they still don't show up on your website for meta editing. https://www.dreamstime.com/uploadhistory.php (https://www.dreamstime.com/uploadhistory.php) says I have 0 uploads. Please let me know if there is a problem I am not aware of...

Hi X,

Thank you for contacting us. I believe there may be an FTP glitch that we are trying to pinpoint. If you would, please try uploading the same videos again, and provide me with the following 3 full browser FTP screenshots showing the following:

The videos in the queue ready to upload (please make sure the file sizes are clearly visible);
The videos in process of uploading;
The final screen should either show an error message or a “files processed successfully”. If instead it starts over, take a screenshot of that as your third one.

I don't think he understood I was using StockSubmitter to upload as he kept referring to the browser, but he also didnt mention he can see the 3 files I uploaded, despite StockSubmitter clearly showing them as uploaded.

It doesn't matter if you upload with StockSubmitter or directly via FTP, it's exactly the same.
Hence he didn't say anything about StockSubmitter.
So it seems they currently have some FTP processing issues, you can try sending them the screenshots they've requested.

I can't log into that account anymore, after I got access to Microstockplus so I really have no way of knowing my stats.
But also, don't you think it's important to have some sort of feedback/notification to users to let them know they have run out of submissions, even if only to prevent these painful multiple submissions, like what I'm dealing with?

I get a notification that my password is incorrect... It's saved in my password manager, so I know that it's the one and only password I'd used on that page. It would definitely be important to see the stats in the account I do have access to, in the UI that I'm working with. Look forward to when you get to implement it. And if there is anything you can do to help with the password, that would be great.

The system doesn't count uploads, only submissions.

Shutterstock has a known issue with their FTP server at the moment.
The only way to resolve it is to contact them and tell them that you can't upload content via FTP. Or just wait, but I don't know how long will it take for them to fix it.

For Alamy it should be working if you have access to their FTP and have entered valid credentials in settings.

For some reason, I can't upload to MicroStock Plus. When I upload on the 'Uploader' page the files successfully load in the file uploader, and I get a message that the file has been uploaded. Then the file is no longer in the 'Queued' tab and has a checkmark next to it in the "Finished" tab. However when I go to the 'My Files' page the directory is empty, the file isn't there so I cannot upload it to agencies. I thought maybe it was the processing time, but I waited 12 hours and it still isn't there. I am uploading EPS files. I've also tried uploading via FTP, but also did not work. I also tried uploading a super small 1x1 EPS file and it also did not show up.

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

If you can connect from your computer with another FTP client like Filezilla, then StockSubmitter should be working as well. If it doesn't and FileZilla does - the only possible reason would be different login/password specified in settings.

I've just encountered this problem for the first time. I uploaded 4 files from the desktop version of StockSubmitter to Microstock Plus. The ones headed to Shutterstock are not uploaded yet - the error is shown as "Invalid login or password". I haven't changed those for a long time on Shutterstock (or in the desktop application).

And I just tried in FileZilla - the connection was OK although I didn't try to upload files.

I also tried directly entering my user name and password for SS into Microstock Plus - the next upload cycle failed again with the same error.

I then forced the upload from within the desktop App to Shutterstock and that worked fine. But how do I tell Microstock Plus not to attempt these images again once this issue is resolved?

@steheap

It's caused by issues with Shutterstock FTP server. Please contact their support and tell them you cannot log into their FTP using a FTP client.
If you've uploaded them already using desktop app you can cancel uploading in M+ by changing their status for Shutterstock to ready.

@Stu49

It's probably your browser putting a wrong data into login/password fields cuz it has remembered those values. They have nothing to do with the data the system is really using, because M+ DOES NOT SHOW ANY data in those fields in agencies settings at all! For security reasons M+ only accepts new values in those fields, it doesn't fill them back from the server, there is no way to get them back from the server.

So the reason for the error is described above in my answer to steheap, please read it.

That's normal, 123rf processing system is terrible...

The system will automatically re-upload the files if they don't show up within a week (or you can do it manually by changing their status to 'ready' for 123rf and re-uploading them)

I've tried it several times now, still no success. However, I have no difficulties when I upload with an FTP client. How is this different? Is there something you could maybe dig into as it seems to follow a very specific pattern (non-editorial images only, not happening with FTP clients)?

There is nothing specific about non-editorial files except that you need to specify correct file type when starting the processing on their website (the system does that).
Besides, it works correctly for other users... So probably an unlucky streak of uploading attempts?

Well, I think that must have been it! I didn't realize they would end up in different queues and that I'd have to go through the submission process twice. I've now gone down the editorial path on the website and there are new files in the queue. Thanks for the help!

Yes, it will re-upload files every week until it'll see them there.

I used the tool for quite few uploads now, but I am concerned about the renaming of the file names. Sometimes its kind of 4894jhf03483jf40.mov, sometimes its the correct one, uploaded to the tool.

Arent those cryptic names bad for the search on some portals?

Thank you :)

It doesn't matter for the search at all.
Microstock agencies are using metadata for search (titles, descriptions, keywords).

Suggestion: could you please add Travel as a top level category? It maps 1:1 with categories at most agencies I submit to. I am having to go into Agency Categories for 90% of my photos as there is no other top level category that allows populating relevant values at the agency level.

1) If there are going to be categories at all, I agree with your suggestion

2) I ignore categories. Those were needed a decade ago, but search algorithms now make them pretty much obsolete. Many agencies have dropped them entirely, while others still have them as a holdover. I don't think anyone really uses them when searching though.  Just add 'travel' as a keyword, and you are set for any search engine likely to be used today.

Well the system is reading the data displayed by 123rf on the website... I'm not quite sure where do you think it SHOULD read the correct value.

Hello Everyone,

I'm using M+ for 3 weeks now, this is a great platform! But I'm having real issue with Pond5, Alamy and 123RF.

I understood 123RF there is nothing much to dooo.
But I don't know why my upload failed each time for Alamy and Pond5? In the manage agencies; Pond5 and Alamy are ready to use, but when it's time to upload always failed!

Do you have any suggestions how to resolve that?

Please help :)

Thank you

Could you provide a file ID of that footage?

@Bonandbon

What does it state as the reason the upload has failed?
And for 123rf what problem are you experiencing exactly?

@Ink

What does happen when you try to upload  there?

@steheap

There's no solution for that at the moment.

What should I do?

Hello, StockSubmitter user here trying out Microstock.plus for the first time.  I have a video that I am trying to submit, got it all ready (love the web-based interface), but am having problems with the last step.  Once I selected to upload the video to my selected agencies, it goes into "Queued" status.  However, it has stayed that way for over 12 hours now, is there something that I am missing?  As far as I can tell, all of my agencies are setup correctly and the file is all ready.

Thanks,
Chris

@Ink

If the files didn't appear at the agency website then it's purely agency's server fault and there's not much we can do about it. M+ will automatically re-upload files if they won't appear within a week. Alternatively, you can do it manually by assigning the "Ready" status for this agency and starting the upload again.

@Chris Kelleher

Please PM me your registration e-mail and what agencies you experience this problem with so I could check it.

Pond5 - make sure you've entered correct FTP password, it's different from the website password.

123rf, Alamy - please try logging in manually via any FTP client (e.g. Filezilla) with the same login/password and see if it works.

Just little questions concerning pond5 and dreamstime, it upload well but never submit, I always need to submit by myself, is it normal? Or should I wait more time?

Also can you let me know where I can find the API Key and API Secret for Istcok.

No, it's not normal, please don't submit files manually. And if you do, don't forget to mark files as submitted in M+ interface, otherwise the platform will consider files 'lost' by the agency and re-upload them after a week.
Next time you encounter this issue please contact me immediately using Telegram Netherspite or e-mail [email protected]

Regarding iStock, our keys were blocked by Getty so we cannot provide them anymore I'm afraid.

It's due to their paranoid bot-protection system. Validation can take as long as their system will keep refusing connections from our address that has been assigned to you, up to several days.

Hey, are there issues with uploads to Bigstockphoto? One (or two) of my photos got uploaded 1,791 times! I now have 1,792 pending edit where there should only be 2 or 3 (one additional photo was uploaded manually by me via their website).
I can't see the photo preview on their website, it's broken, but based the description the photo ID is either 5dad2a8e6538587e67a99c25 or 5dad2a4b6538587e67a99be1

Hi! New user here. I see others were having the same problem:
API keys in iStock/Getty are not available. Still M+ asks for them in order to ad iStock to my agencies.
Does that mean iStock is not usable in M+? Just delete and forget? Or will M+ come up with some solution like stop asking for impossible or supply it themselves (here in this thread there was a suggestion that those keys could be passed around from other users).
Actually I am halfway done with trying to work with iStock anyway, they are a headache.
Title: Re: Microstock.Plus: The first cloud platform to manage, upload & submit any content
Post by: Niakris on October 24, 2019, 03:52
@SvetlanaSF

It could happen if uploading fails due to some network or internal Bigstock error (from the M+ PoV) but Bigstock is still recognizing and showing the file in the unfinished list.
In this case I'd recommend to remove those files from there and set their status to 'ready' for Bigstock in M+ so it would stop trying to upload them.

@Opalescence

The thing is that we cannot provide those keys anymore. We had our keys but Getty decided to block them for some stupid reason so now the only way to work with them is if you can find a working key pair somewhere.

 :) I'm getting my ducks in a row.

So what would be the best workflow now? Upload one file and submit one by one or first upload all I have for that day and submit all together? Can a ready file wait a day or two before submitting?
Is there any specific procedure for editorial?
After the files are submitted to the agencies do they stay in M+? In file manager or do they go to archive? Is it necessary to leave them in M+ after they are submitted?

Thanks!

1. You can choose whatever workflow you prefer. I'd recommend to upload all files first, then tag them and then upload them whenever you want to.
They can wait there forever.

2. For Editorial please check the corresponding checkbox in the metadata panel.

3. Yeah they stay in M+ until you remove them. If you remove them, the system will remove the actual files from our storage and move files to the Archive section in the UI, allowing you to still copy metadata from them if you need. You can no longer upload them though. Submission should still work for files in Archive except for submitting vectors to Dreamstime as it requires the system to upload EPS files and obviously they're not in the storage anymore.
So technically, Archive is the section for removed files.

You're probably using the Mac OS X version.
Unfortunately, we had to stop supporting it because of lack of the interest to it from users.
You can try our web version: microstock.plus
It's much more stable, has more features and supports more agencies than the Mac OS X version.

Your program keeps re-uploading photos that have already been accepted at various agencies. Dreamstime told me to quit spamming the database. Over the last week I keep checking the agencies and deleting new repeat submissions. Today I have to delete 46 files from 123rf. It's raising heck with my acceptation rate so I went into your program and deleted my sign-on info for all agencies. Hope that ends it.

If you submit files manually please mark them as submitted in Microstock.Plus too. Otherwise MPlus will assume the agency lost the files and will re-upload them automatically after a week.

It's getting too cumbersome to manually track the status of the uploads, when I think the system should be able to detect that a specific file has already been uploaded to an agency. Seems like the 2nd condition from your list below is failing.
Is there anything you can do to fix this?
Also, it's not doing it for the other agency where it has an incorrect status. For example, Shutterstock.

It's doing that only when the following conditions are met:
- files still have 'uploaded' status;
- the system NEVER seen them on the agency website;
- there are no other reasons for the submission to not happen (submissions are not used up, there are no parsing errors, etc.);
- a week has passed since the file been uploaded.

Did you submit those files manually?

Yes, a large number of those I had to submit manually as the app doesn't seem to submit to Dreamstime

First of all, the app SHOULD submit to Dreamstime. If it doesn't happen please contact the support chat, I'll look into it :)

Second, if you submit something manually please mark it as submitted in M+, other wise it'll consider files as 'lost' by the agency and will re-upload.

Ok, I'll keep an eye out when the app doesn't submit again. However, is it possible to somehow avoid having the app consider the files lost? Shouldn't it be smart enough to understand that it's already uploaded the file? It's less disruptive for me to reupload the file again if a file does indeed get lost (which I haven't had happen yet), rather than to deal with the duplicates. Do you think that's possible?

Yes, as I said, just mark the files as submitted in M+ if you submit them manually - it won't re-upload them in that case.

No, that's not what I mean. I'm referring to having this be a built-in feature. It's quite cumbersome when uploading hundreds of files per month, to try and remember to update the status on some agency on some files. I've described the logic that should work for it by default. Hope it makes sense.

Well for most users it's better to have it that way, because agencies losing files happens all the time and it's hard to track which files got lost to re-upload them manually.
While on the other hand if you do submit files manually it's an action performed by you and you always know which files you submit that way.
I still don't see any reason to perform the submission manually to be honest, why would you do that?

I don't know about the other users' experience, but I don't ever see files just disappear. Are you saying that this happens after your app uploads it to the agency? Is that something you can fix on your end? With several thousand files with multiple agencies, I still can't relate to this problem
While on the other hand if you do submit files manually it's an action performed by you and you always know which files you submit that way.
When I upload sets of 3-5 similar images, it's really difficult to go back and forth between the different sites to see what got and what didn't get submitted. I find that the microstockplus app isn't always consistent at marking the status of the files correctly, so if something is marked as Uploaded and not Submitted, I have to first check whether or not that is correct, then I have to update the files manually. Even though it's certainly not as hard as uploading directly to multiple agencies on my own, it's still quite cumbersome.

If I recall this correctly, you have set a limit of 33 free uploads per month. It is enforced for some agencies, but not all. And even when it seems to be enforced for an agency, some files still seem to seep through. So for instance with Dreamstime and 123RF I always have to submit the files manually. For others - only sometimes. I suspect it could be a non-issue if I had a subscription, but the issues I've reported here in this thread prevent me from being comfortable with signing up for it.

It's not something that happens on our end, it's just that agencies randomly lose uploaded files. It happens if you upload manually too.
But if you do everything manually it's much easier to spot and fix.
M+ is meant to be 'click Upload once and forget' kind of app, we plan to implement tracking of the approval status after submission as well to make it an even more smooth workflow.

If it DOES submit a file but doesn't mark it as submitted it's not quite normal and I'd ask you to let me know if such things happen so I could look into that and fix it.
For the investigation I'd only need an ID of a file that got submitted on the agency website but didn't get marked as such.

If I recall this correctly, you have set a limit of 33 free uploads per month. It is enforced for some agencies, but not all. And even when it seems to be enforced for an agency, some files still seem to seep through. So for instance with Dreamstime and 123RF I always have to submit the files manually. While I understand your concerns I'd like to point out that we cannot really promote such ways of using the service because we have quite high operational costs and while it's completely fine to let the users try out the system for free (or even use it completely for free if their volumes are low - below 33 images/month - that's why we put such a limit) it wouldn't be as sustainable if we would intentionally help users to extend their free limit by submitting manually while still saving bandwidth and time on uploading.
I know how it sounds but M+ is not really much profitable and we cannot reduce it further.
Thus, we're looking to improve the workflow and experience of those using the service how it's meant to be used in the first place. That's why there's this feature.
That said, I'd like to say again that it's NOT normal to have files not marked as submitted if they are in fact submitted. So those cases I'll definitely look into if you let me know of any and hopefully that'll improve your experience as well.

I'll keep an eye when I see a status mismatch and let you know.

As for the upload limits, I didn't really have visibility into your constraints so I wasn't clear on the intended reasoning on my end, until I read these details. I was under the impression that the issue was specifically with submissions: you mentioned earlier in your replies to my previous messages that the app was still uploading but not submitting the images after the limit was reached - that to me was the green flag to still use it for upload, but to submit manually as needed... If that's not what you intended, wouldn't you be able to just stop the uploads altogether? I'm happy to use it for just the 33 submissions/uploads you are ok with and don't mean to make you guys feel like I'm trying to cheat the system. I'd also be happy if you considered extending the limit in exchange for feedback and troubleshooting, if you have/would like to have beta testers.

And here's an example of the mismatched status, I have 3 photos that I accidentally skipped over a while back and just realized the other day that they weren't uploaded. I know I'd gone through and marked the rest of the photos as Submitted, but I'm pretty sure I didn't mark these. I do apologize if this is a false alarm and if I did mark it as Submitted myself, but would appreciate if you could check this: 5de1f68afefbf874f30224e8, 5de1f67afefbf874f30224e2, 5dd20afc2bf8ca2069393fea. Bigstock is one the agencies that shows these as submitted, but they weren't. I had to submit them manually today myself.

Hi, Niakris,
Maybe it's just me but after entering metadata of a photo the "Save and close" button is overlapped by "Live chat" button. Either I have to slow down my hand or I keep hitting the chat and it gets annoying. Yes, I use mouse to hit buttons.
Can you please move one of them out of the way of the other? TIA

How can it work without changing file names after submitting? Is there some options?
It is hard to keep the track which file is accepted or rejected after changing names of the files.

@SvetlanaSF

It's not considered cheating or something like that, don't worry.
However, the slight inconvenience that comes in a 'package' with that is that you would have to mark files as submitted manually if you don't want the system to re-upload them again.
We're not planning to try and improve the experience on that part for those who's using the free subscription at the cost of those who's using a paid one, I hope that's understandable.

As of Bigstock, could you provide a bit more information: were those three files completely ready to be submitted except for the categories or did they have that custom identifying keyword we're using for submission when you have submitted them manually?

@Opalescence

Yeah we're aware of that and planning to find a solution.

@viktorcvetkovic

The program will keep your original filenames if you use only Latin characters, digits and underscores in them :)

Are you sure? My file names are always changed despite using Latin characters, digits, and underscores (I upload videos only).
Example: My latest upload: 06_regie.mov becomes: 5e073b888f9ab82daa580520.mov on SS

Oh right if you're using M+ the names will be always changed but it's not a big problem: you can just copy those names into the "search" field on M+ to see your files :)

The keyword that we're using to identify a file at the Bigstock unfinished section, normally it's starting with 'zzz' and contains of random set of lowercase Latin letters.

I just checked and there is no custom keyword in these photos. There is also one new file on BS pending submission, without that custom keyword (5e0acb3f1bf529301d7ecf27) that is marked as Submitted in the app. I'm unable to submit it myself on BS as well. When I try, I get an error saying that the original is no longer there. Not sure which side the problem originated on.

If there's no identifying keyword then probably the system has attempted to submit this file already and BS didn't let it through for some reason.
Due to the agency specifics automatic submission won't be possible after that and you would only be able to complete the submission manually (or not, if their system bugs out like in your example).

If the program says that the files have been submitted successfully it means that the agency website replied with a success to the submission request. There is no way for the program to know it wasn't really successful especially considering there's no way to identify the file after removing the identifying keyword :(
We're planning to implement the approval tracking feature for M+ though, it should help.

Different question: how do supertags and other metadata get applied on Alamy? I noticed that as of late many of my photos get submitted without the supertags and other metadata from the Optional tab, like categories, people and property in the image. I can't see any pattern for when this information does/does not get populated as it's all available and filled out in the microstock app

It's caused by their modifications that sometimes prevent SS/M+ from reading all the newly published files.
As you may know, they have a QC (some kind of a review) BEFORE images can be submitted with all the metadata. And this QC can take a long time.
After the QC images will be on sale but without all the extra metadata you've mentioned. And if their website won't provide the correct list of those unfinished files (which it doesn't sometimes) - M+/SS won't be able to complete the submission.
There's not much we can do about it, you can either complete it manually or re-upload.

We've decided to start this year with a really good news for our users! We were discussing an option to download your files back from M+ for a while and finally came up with the best way to implement that.
From now on you can download your JPEG files back (both photos and previews for vectors/videos). Any JPEGs you download will contain a full copy of the information from the M+ database, including metadata and uploading/submission statuses in a format fully compatible with StockSubmitter. It allows to completely synchronize information between M+ and StockSubmitter.
Soon we'll add an option to download EPS and MOV files along with your JPEGs and an option to download a whole folder in a ZIP archive.

To try out the new feature you can select the files you want to download and click the corresponding icon above.

And great news about the ability to download the files. Thank you!

Unfortunately, their system doesn't allow to specify metadata before QC :(
They're reading only standard fields (title, description, keywords) and putting files for QC. You cannot edit them and fill anything else until they pass it.

I like the new improvements!  :) Noticed some already while working.

A quick question: Is there a way to upload a file to the same agency repeatedly? First I made a mistake in description, corrected it, then pressed the upload to checked agency for second time. No idea if it worked because for some files I corrected the descriptions manually in the agency, yes, I'm chaotic.

Also is it possible to reupload in case I want them to reconsider the rejection? The rejections in SS for example seem very random recently.

TIA

If you've uploaded a file and then altered its metadata in M+ BEFORE the submission happened (before the status has changed to Submitted) - M+ will use the updated metadata when submitting the file, don't worry.
If the file has been submitted already then you will have to remove it from the agency manually; then change its status for this agency to Ready in M+ and then re-launch the uploading again.

@Artist

The service itself is free, uploads are unlimited.
The only limited feature is the automatic submission (when the service is automatically filling all the fields on the agency website and sends files for review) - you can submit up to 33 files per month to every agency on the Free subscription plan.
If you need to submit more you can purchase one of our paid subscription plans or submit the rest of the files manually after the service has uploaded them.
You can see the list of the available plans by clicking your account balance in the top right corner of any M+ page, then click "Choose a Package" button.

Open the metadata editor, "Releases" tab, there you can create a release and attach it (it should be attached by default once you create it IIRC).

It means you've used too many different passwords with your AdobeStock account and triggered a brute force protection.
Please try changing password to one of the passwords used before.

Hi, Niakris! Is there some kind of manual somewhere to read. I see there are lots of nice functions and colourful buttons but have no idea what do they do. The Support centre only has about problems but I mean for normal educated everyday use.

And this is the specific question I tried to find answers to: Can I submit video footage files without using FTP? To all agencies or to which ones? Can I upload a video to M+ and proceed the same as with a photo - title, description, keywords, press submit button? Or what do I do?
Title: Re: Microstock.Plus: The first cloud platform to manage, upload & submit any content
Post by: Niakris on April 27, 2020, 08:02
1. I'm afraid there's no manual at the moment, but we're planning to find time for it in the future.
2. M+ will automatically upload footages via FTP to any agencies that support that.
If you mean uploading footages to M+ itself then that's possible too, you can find the FTP credentials in the Upload Files section.
Uploading from M+ to custom FTPs is not yet supported unfortunately.
3. Yes, you can work with videos the same exact way as you would with videos - it'll work fine :)

Hi
Any chance that you can update the site so that it shows the correct earnings data for 123RF. Typically it always shows last month plus this current month. Even though its not a huge sum it its pretty annoying. The "earnings this month" data shown on the 123RF site always shows the correct amount for me but not in microstockplus.
Thank you.

We're reading the current value directly from 123rf, could you PM me a screenshot where you get the value that's always correct?

Hi!  :) I love that M+ gives categories automatically when I fill the keywords. I don't like when it overrides the categories I put in manually before filling keywords. Just now resulted in 2 the same, had to change = unnecessary extra work, and it's the best case, possibly I haven't noticed it and some photos have carelessly filled metadata.

Also the pop message "Conformation All uploads have been completed. Do you want to......."  when uploading. I just want to keep doing what I was doing but this message always jumps forward and makes a mess with my work. It always appears exactly when I have a photo half way to "Drop the files here".

 :) Thanks

P.S. I also like that there is a place like this where I can moan and it is taken into account and site keeps improving!

Thank you for the feedback!

1. If you select BOTH categories manually they won't be overridden. Only the categories you didn't select get replaced by the automatically generated ones.
So the scenario you've described can happen if you select "A" as category 1 and then the system selects it as the category 2 automatically because you've left it blank.

2. I think we could add a "Don't show again" option to that message :) Will add it to the to-do list

1. No, not really, if I select categories manually then I select all 3 and their subcategories too. If I start with keywords then the machine does the categories and I check them. So if I did them myself I thought that was it, but no, they do change after (during) the keywords are done.

Personally I totally support the boycott and the fight.
I've already deactivated my portfolio there and will stop uploading new content.

However, we cannot force paying customers to upload or not upload somewhere, that's their own decision.
As far as I wish to help the community in this situation that would be not fair to those contributors who don't want to join this fight.

If you understand the difference between the illustrative editorial and the normal editorial content - just enable the option to allow it in the Adobe settings.

Of course not.
You can remove the files to free up the storage space as soon as they get uploaded to the agencies, M+ can still submit them even if they are removed from the storage (except for the vectors on Dreamstime as the EPS is uploaded during the submission process there).

So apparently your files have a double extension (JPEGs have .mov.jpg and MOVs have .mov.mov)
Please remove double extensions, keep only a single .mov for your MOV files and .jpg for your JPEG files, should help.

This shouldn't happen for files submitted in September.

It's how 123rf is displaying them.
In fact, they display earnings in two places on their website and the one we're taking is displaying correct values most of the time (but sometimes they show it as you described...)
Another place though is worse as it's not correct most of the time.

Please run an empty submission - probably it needs you to pass a captcha but doesn't want to bother you just to update the balance.
