Ha, well people will be very disappointed if they buy subs there: there were hardly any images in the sections I checked out. And their keywording is beyond hysterical. There was a photo of a wild Rhino and its calf in Lake Nakuru NP. It's title was "animal, wild life" ("wild life" being a subcategory of 'animal' it wouldn't surprise me if all the few pics there are titled identically), and keyworded:
Animal,  Birds,  Butterflies,  Zoo,  Reptiles,  Wild Animals,  Pets,  Nature,  Environment,  Lion,  Tiger,  Wolf,  Cat,  Dog,  Human Friends,  Aquarium,  Biology,  Eco Tourism,  Ecotourism,  Fish,  Marine,  Marine Life,  Nature,  Sea Life,  Sealife,  Tank,  Under Water,  Underwater,  Aquatic,  Aquatics,  Dolphin,  Dolphins,  Fauna,  Habitat
So you'll notice that " Rhino" or its location aren't even in the title or keywords.
Stay well clear, folks.
(If you want to license that one image, it's $79)
Actually, the whole site looked pretty similar to another site we dissed here quite recently.

For a site that is "located" in the US the english grammar is not very good.  Another red flag.

A look through their (tiny) collection of people photos reveals nearly all the models are Asian.  Not impossible for an American company, but unlikely.

Also, there are very few different models.  This looks like one person's portfolio, rather than a site with multiple different submitters.

Hmmm. I looked in 'birds', and got a huge list of error messages
"Warning: getimagesize(stock_photos/i_118107834.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/bestimag/public_html/i_gallery_photos.php  on line 29"
and no visible images with firefox.
So I tried with IE, and got a security message I've never had before: "Do you want this website to access your clipboard?" Huh? What's all that about?
Anyway, in IE, I get the same error messages in Birds and also in the Wild Life subcategory I saw earlier in FF.

lol! are you serious?! i tried to check under men but it came up with database error. there were caucasian men and women under weddings too.

The database error was probably due to the fact they reorganized their photos. Later they were back. Did they remove the "borrowed" images?  ;) The port now is limited, also as to subject.
I digged a bit in their code and it is a simple ktools photostore install.
Domain info (owner, location) is deliberately protected on /whois. Site hosted in the US (but that says nothing).

The "about us" gives no contact info at all, just states:
Quote
Best Image Stock is a creative resource for advertising, marketing and media professionals worldwide, helping to bring creative work to life with the highest quality photography, footage and rights services. Best Image Stock offers a preeminent collection of more than 100.000 creative, entertainment and historic images, a comprehensive footage library, the world's deepest rights and clearances expertise and an award-winning media management solution. Based in USA, Best Image Stock serves more than 50 countries worldwide.

This text fragment is just bluntly stolen from Corbis:

About Corbis

Corbis offers a preeminent collection of more than 100 million creative, entertainment and historic images, a comprehensive footage library, the world's deepest rights and clearances expertise and an award-winning media management solution, as well as empowering SnapVillage, an innovative microstock web site. As a scam, I've seen much better ones.  ;D

As to the origin of this scam, I have an idea where it comes from by the typical grammar error they made translating "based in Seatle" into "based in USA", where it should be "based in the USA". Ничего не скажу.  :P

New one!

Ive got email form customer who bought my photo at Bigstockphoto and used it on his website:

"I few weeks ago I received an e-mail from some Turkish guys who claimed that they are representative of www.bestimagestock.com and warning me about using a photo without licence. They stated that they have the copyright of this photo and I should remove it immediately and make some kind of agreement with them for not going to court.
You can see the photo in http://www.bestimagestock.com/search.php?search=75052&match_type=id The photo ID is 75052. It can only be found by searching with photo ID. Do you have any connection with the site www.bestimagestock.com in terms of copyright bases?"

FUCKIN THIEFS! I wish I cant get them personally!
