Hey all just this second joined the site and looks interesting to get some questions answered. I have been on the top 4 stock sites for around a year now and wondering if its worth joining any others. Are any of you seeing large sales on the other sites or do you reccommend I just stick to istock, shutterstock, dreamstime and fotolia?

thanks in advice for your answers

Ant

Hey, you could've just asked me privately, then I would have sent you a referral link.  ;D

Depends on how much free time you have, Anton. Everyone's portfolio tends to act a bit differently, so it's hard to know what would work best for you. But my suggestion for the next site to upload to would be StockXpert, followed by BigStockPhoto, then 123RF (in that order, one at a time).

I am actually already on bigstock and stockxpert but only have a couple of images on them. just want to know whether its worth continuing with them and realisticly can they be as bigger sellers as the others

I upload to both, but only StockXpert has regular sales for me. I would suggest you upload your entire portfolio there anyway, since you already have pictures ready. You don't necessarily have to upload regularly in case you find it too time consuming.

Actually, it was Anton9 asking the question, not me. Even though it says "New Member" by my name, I've actually been reading microstockgroup for a couple of years (I just never signed up until last year).  ;D

Quit all the other sites ...NOW. Then join istockphoto as an exclusive and earn lots of dosh with $6.20 and $4.40 for your xl and large sales.
This was a public service announcement for istockphoto and i get $20 everytime i post  :P

You do need 250 sales to become exclusive at Istock.  Before before you see if the crown fits, realize that if you can sell 250 at Istock you can sell 1500 at SS and 200 on DT and maybe 400 on FT and you won't be at the mercy of the IS Search Engine Gods.

Just do StockXpert for sure. Bigstock is iffy. Depends if you want to spend the time or not. Don't expect earnings like on the other sites though.

.
Seems to me your not fully exploring every avenue for most sales.Fair comment about not going exclusive but surely it would be more profitable if you uploaded ALL your work to every site you contribute to.
Not sure if any other independant has say his meat and two veg on one site and other food images, landscapes on another and isolated shots and business shots on another....

You can buy FTP software that will let you upload to multiple websites at once. Some examples are Cute FTP and classic ftp.

You don't have to buy FTP software. There are plenty of free ones - FileZilla http://filezilla-project.org/ is probably the most known one.

And I would go for the big 6 (on the right hand side)
