AVG but here's a place that covers the answers.http://blog.emsisoft.com/2015/10/30/20-things-that-can-go-terribly-wrong-when-you-ask-the-wrong-peer-for-security-advice/Security Advice
Never used an antivirus. I use a computer since 1982 and I never get a virus. The best antivirus is to not install nothing you are not sure and don't open any mail you cannot 100% trust. That is very risky. When using Google image search, I have been led occasionally to sites that dump viruses/malware. Norton has warned me not to go there. Absent those Norton warnings I would have been vulnerable.
I think the main selling point of some of the others is that they are free. Norton seems to do the job fine and I am lazy.
If you run windows, why not using the free antivirus that comes with it: Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender (for W10)?
