Do you think digital wallet payments is just a fad or do you think they're here to stay? I'm thinking about getting new credit card machines that can handle such payments. Do you think it'd be a good investment for my shop?

I'm no expert on cryptocurrencies and the like, but one thing I have noticed is that you'll normally find that people who are really into Bitcoins and the like, will go out of their way to find places that accept Bitcoins. They're devoted to making the currency work and are loyal to those that use Bitcoin. If you accept Bitcoin they want you to succeed so that other people will start to accept Bitcoin.

So if you had a 'we accept bitcoins' sticker in your shop window, even if you're a little bit more expensive, or a little bit further away than a similar shop... they'd still go to yours over the other one.

That's just what I'm observing and have heard, based on my own experiences... there's a few generalisations in there, so I could be wrong!

I don't thinks it's just a fad.  Technology is evolving and it makes everything easier not only for the business but for the customers as well.  I suggest you get one. Good luck!

I don't think it's a fad either. I think people who use their cards a lot because they want or need to keep track of expenses will be particularly attracted to this technology.

You can also add loyalty cards to the wallet so everything's in one place and you don't have dig around for multiple cards. It certainly is efficient but I have to say there's kind of a surreal quality to doing transactions this way -- you have to keep reminding yourself that you are, in fact, spending real money. :-)

Thanks for your input guys. I've decided to go ahead with it. On that note, do you guys know of any credit card machine companies that sells ones that can handle digital wallet payments? I've been doing an online research and I'm liking this credit card processing company. I'm open to more suggestions though.

There's no point using bitcoin at the moment except for fun.  It is too unstable, the value is allover the place.

It could well be the future, maybe not bitcoin by then but another digital currency, but not yet.
