Title: hosting advice
Post by: Phil on February 18, 2008, 16:22
hi,

I been using godaddy but I dont really like their site for management, I feel they are always trying to upsell and spam filtering is off on email accounts but it still gets filtered (arrghhh!)

So I'm after some advice for hosting. Can anyone recommend someone.

Regards
Phil

hostgator.com - baby-croc plan - great myqsql databases, uptime near 100% - fast from everywhere in the world. Let you host multiple domains on 1 account.

Some are better than others at different things. Your purpose will determine what aspects of the hosting solution are important, which in turn will help people make recommendations.

I use two different hosts for different types of projects. One I use because it's cheap to buy in bulk (hostgator) and another I use (icdsoft) because their custom control panel gives me functionality I don't get with cpanel.

What's your purpose?

We use Dreamhost- really excellent customer service! The have one-click packages to install WordPress and all kinds of other good stuff. You can also buy dedicated IPs if you need.
