Title: HTPC vs PS3 slim
Post by: leaf on February 02, 2010, 10:18
I know there are lots of discussions on the 'net but I thought i would poll everyon's opinion here as well.  I have been reading too many hours, weighing the differences and just can't decide.

I am trying to decide between a HTPC or PS3.

The HTPC will be over 3x the price as the PS3 - but will be a PVR, Blue-Ray drive, TV tuner all in one box.  I am just not sure the price is worth it.  The PS3 is a great Blue-Ray player plus you get the PS3 games.  If I went with the PS3 I would have to have another box for the PVR but that doesn't cost very much from my cable company.

If I wanted to rent a movie on iTunes or go on the net - the PS3 can handle some of that, or I could connect a laptop to the system - a few more cords but quite a bit cheaper.

Any thoughts?
