I know that internationally the divorce rate is very high these days, but I found it interesting that with the direct contacts/friends I made in the industry, it seems to me like the rate is even higher than average under microstock photographers.

Will be interesting to see if this is true.

Is this important to stock photography?

Thought about that, but it is stock photography related (industry related relationships).  ;) Will trust Leaf's decision to move it if he wants to.
PS Did report it to him - so he can decide.

BUT the pool does not take into account:
Fancy Brazilian girlfrinds before and after you were divorced.
and Im actually serious.

There is a couple of options missing.
like relationships instead of marriage.

I hear you, but a full options list will cover a page, so I am trying to just stay with the bare basic. I will add "other".  ;)
PS PM me with some pictures of "Fancy Brazilian girlfriends"  ;D

I met a young Brazilian woman in Pisa last year, and took her photo holding up the tower as she asked, then she insisted on photographing me doing the same.
Doubt if that counts, but it has vaguely to do with photography.  ;)

had coffee with a (newspaper) photographer friend of mine who has just separated from his wife.
but, out of the 4 breakups in my circle this past year only one is a photographer.

Happily married 24 years and counting to same hubby.

If anything, stock would be something that has held our marriage together.  I can't afford to divorce my top model ;)

Guess it depends how many photographer friends you have. It it is only the one, the divorce rate amongst them might unfortunately shoot up to 100% shortly.

Interesting! So far it looks like photographers mostly look as well after their partners as they do their camera equipment.  :)

What's that? Trade it in for a new model every few years? LOL

Hey, what's an  "Other"? I mean, married, divorced, single... what's other? Living in a monastery or what? ???

It's because we hate exclusivity.

Anyway, I voted "never married".

"Other" is for JPSDK's "Fancy Brazilian girlfriends" before and after a marriage, bigamists, do not believe in marriage but living with one person (or many), not married but sleeping with other peoples wives/husbands, whatever....  ;)

I am not sure if was the photography, boats, fishing, the glider, or off road racing that made me lose mine.
