My Son plays acoustic, electric and bass guitar, trumpet as well as learning saxaphone and plays keyboard, which he gets from my husband who jams with him everynight.

They play Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Clapton, plus their own songs they have written.

I live inside the ipod.

I can't believe how many of you listen to classic rock-n-roll in this day and age!

My Son, who is 15, is obsessed with classic rock and roll. He is on Music Council, in Jazz band, and school band. You would be suprised at the "classic" songs they have to play for school.

He claims there is no new sound to play, I claim he has no vision and remind him of Elvis Presley. He then revamps all the classic rock to his own sound as part of the learning curve and adds in new instruments.

Great site Leaf - I bookmarked it - quality seems much better than another internet radio site my kids turned me on to.

Yes, my oldest son (13) is totally into Classic Rock and Guns n Roses.

For me, I have way too many favorites but I am really into Audioslave at the moment.  A few more include:
Tool
System of a Down
Velvet Revolver
Our Lady Peace
RHCP
Sloan
Who
Rush
Concrete Blond
Laryn Hill
XTC
Bowie

Not sure you would want it. Just saw a docu-where-are-they-now peice and her music has become over-the-top political and I don't think she can get a record deal. Sad for now... but she is still young and has lots of time to wow us yet.

I'm 30 years old, and I listen to a lot of Classic Rock. It never gets old. Most of it is rooted strongly in hard straight ahead blues.

Big be-bop and hard-bop fan, i.e. Bird,  John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Mingus, etc.

Bela Fleck is also awesome! I also listen to Green Day, Pearl Jam, STP, Phish, etc.

Recently, I've been listening to a lot of Steely Dan.

More often than not classic rock bores me to tears, most likely due to all the overkill from the radios growing up.....and why is it that what they call "alt rock" here is nothing more than "classic rock" played by new bands?

Prof...The Stranglers?
That made me smile, didnt realize anyone else knew they existed......
Love that band!

Others on my top list would be
Tull (not the stuff played on american radio...see above)
Style Council
Paul Weller
Echo and the Bunneymen
Psychedelic Furs
Dean Martin
And sometimes a good solid dose of The Clash

OMG--somebody else listens to the Style Council.  Actually, the band they formed from (which I cannot remember for the life of me) could play circles around them.  And, anyone who hasn't listened to Echo and the Bunnymen or the Furs is really missing out on some musical history.

If you like the Stranglers (my two favorite albums--Aural Sculpture and Rattus Norwegicus), you'll like the Vapors.  You may recall them, as they did one top 25 hit, "Turning Japanese."

Any Ramones fans here?

Love both Rattus and Aural, another gem is Dreamtime.

And you can see lots more of them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/82024072@N00/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/82024072@N00/)

It was great to be in the photographer's pit between the stage and the fans and for some of the smaller bands, I was even able to get on stage and shoot  ;D
