I'll be off for about four weeks. Taking a trip to Austria, Italy and Germany and hopefully returning with stockworthy grandparents and grandchild pictures  and some romantic Tuscan vineyards in evening light type shots. 
Any last suggestions for the traveling-with-kid-also-trying-to-take-pictures photographer?

That's a perfect suggestion.  I love photography and it makes an important part in any of my trips, but most of all remember you are there to enjoy your time off.
