What software are you using in your microstock workflow ?

I'm using :
- Photoshop 7 + Noiseware plugin
- IMatch (image management software)
- A2Z keywording (keywording / thesaurus software) - expansive but necessary as English isn't my native language
- Ultralingua (translator)
- FTP expert

Post yours !

phildate

I'm using:

Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Raw Plugin
Noise Ninja (occasionally)
Apple Dictionary/Thesaurus widget
Interarchy (ftp)

Boylet

I'm using:

- Photoshop CS2
- Infraview + a handy thesaurus
- XP FTP

Question: Is there any significant difference when using Windows XP's built-in FTP client as against Interarchy (ftp) or FTP expert

Not sure but I am using a Mac so this is not an option for me. I had to pay for Interarchy but I am very happy with it as part of my microstock workflow

I'm also a webdesigner, working on websites, and that's why i purchased ftp expert. I don't use any of the software features (except uploading...  ;D) to upload my stock images.
I never used the windows XP's ftp client, but maybe it doesn't allow uploading to many servers at the same time. Ftp expert or any other ftp client does that.

phildate: Thanks for the reply.

yupgp: Actually XP does allow simultaneous uploading to several ftp sites. Although its a bit messy on the desktop in the sense that each connection to an ftp server has a window, so if you're uploading to 10 servers at a time, 10 windows are open.

Someone had to say something for Linux... :-)

on my main machine (Debian Sarge)

Gimp 2.2  (with dcraw plugin for raw when I use it)
gftp for upload to ftp enabled sites.
firefox
gthumb for viewing/previewing/rotating/selecting
vim for editing my website
some shell scripts using imagemagik/jhead/pnmutils to watermark, scale, tile, template proofs automatically from events etc.
php shell script for re-naming files to be unique (strips date/time from exif and makes it part of the filename..)

On my laptop (used 'on site' for tethered shooting, win XP)
Canon viewer/capture.
DPP
Gimp 2.2
Photoshop Elements 3 (very occasionally if I'm doing on site proofing, which I try to avoid!)

Cheers , Me.

PSP 7 for edition
AI CS2 for vectors
Noise Ninja
Exifer for editing IPTC data
Irfanview sometimes to add a keyword or change the order of keywords
Siren to rename files

I think this is all.

Oh, and Windows XP.  :)
