True!  a genuine whisky on the rocks is with cold pebbles or something, old Scotish fly-fishermen standing in cold icey rivers used to drink it that way. there is a small private Pub, way up in the highlands, still serving it that way.

...postcode/address please...?

Way up in the mountains, it was a long time back but the closest town or village I can remeber was called Buckie,  there was another on the Isle of Skye and yet another on the Isle of Mull.

BTW, Im going there again some time in spring. We can meet up, drag Difydave away from Cornwall and we can all get zozzled ;D

Some time ago I was at a Whiskey Fair and tasted many different whiskeys. I realized that I prefer the ones with a peaty taste. I also like Glenfiddich or Lagavulin- I know they taste different, but sometimes you also like to taste different flavors. I even tried a whiskey-schnapps at this fair, which was an interesting experience for me. But it doesn't taste like whiskey anymore.

Was at a whiskey fair on Saturday and I must admit, Lagavulin, is a really nice one,  burnt like hell.

GRANTS, reasonable taste for a reasonable price allowing me drown my sorrows on a bad microstock day. Also DALMORE, better taste but double the price, nice though when celebrating a good microstock day!
