The older i get the more cynical i get about xmas.
Hard up families expected to buy presents they can ill afford.
That baby in Bethleham has alot to answer for in my opinion

*passes round the humbugs*

It's become too commercial now, I get told what people expect for christmas, though this year everyone who dared tell me what they wanted was told they could be grateful for a present that was bought with thought instead. I am getting rapidly to the point I just buy for children, adults expect so much and it's lost the whole joy of giving aspect, luckily my kids have been brought up to enjoy the simple things, we still do crafts and baking and they are both charity shop/car boot sale fans and would rather spend a pound or two "rescuing" an unloved toy than get some flimsy plastic thing for £30 that'll be broken within days.

Now I'm off to potter my way round the shops trying to find sprouts, a sieve for my lumpy gravy and best of all.. to walk slowly and annoy all the people still panic buying.

It's only as commercial as you let it be...and remember, there were OTHER babes born in Bethleham that night...Brian for example, lest we forget them.  ;)
Safe holidays to all

Christmas sucks if you make it suck.  Just like your own life.  Commercial?  For sure.  Everything is commercial these days, but you can make it a meaningful season, if you want.

Happy Christmas,
Adelaide

Yea I got a wonderful Christmas gift this year.
Yesterday our landlords bank came to the door and told us we have 72 hours to move. Seems that for the last year I have been paying the rent but the landlady has failed to pay the mortage. So today for Christmas I am moving

It's a two way street, the more commercial it is the more images we sell. However I philosophically oppose the greed and over consumption so many people have fallen prey to. I can hardly wait for my 5DII to arrive!!

See what I mean.

Yea we were forced out of our home the studio is fine and is where I will be staying for the next 30 days or so. The commute to work this AM was killer, there was an accident in the hallway at the interchange to the low key studio and traffic was backed up for tiles :-)

This too shall pass. Good luck on finding a new place.

The only good thing i would say in favour of the festive season is that i get payed leave from work. Now i can't imagine anyone complaining about holidays least of all me.
We did always leave a glass of whiskey and some shortbread out for Santa Clause when we  were children and came down early in the morning to find an empty glass and crumbs.I always checked the fire but never say a big red arse stuck there  ;D

For 8 years I was 9000km from home for Christmas but this year it's going to be different. I got my new family here and it's my baby's first one. I might start liking Christmas again :-)

A w filmie polskim, proszę pana, to jest tak: nuda... Nic się nie dzieje, proszę pana. Nic. Taka, proszę pana... Dialogi niedobre... Bardzo niedobre dialogi są.

You know it's the hypocritical event of the year - as over here 70% don't even go to church or regard religion.
So what are they celebrating? Time to cop on!

Christmas is about creepers not religion. One does not have to go to church and hail an organized religion to have a personal relationship with creepers.

LMAO I love it the forum censerd my post renaming JC  to creepers

Christmas is about religion. and it pisses me off that people give gifts on Christmas and pretend like they know what its all about when they aren't christian.  Make your own holiday and give gifts if thats the case.  and you know what, Festivus sounds really good for people like them.  Maybe the airing of grievances will enlighten them a bit.  I just hate how people adopt religions when it suits them.

NO Christmas is about the birth of the son of God not about religion. Religon is a man made concept meant to help mankind explain and understand that which can not be understood. One does not have to have a tie to organized religion to be spirtual and or be Christian. I don't need a priest and a congregation to have a personal relationship with the son of God or to live by a simple set of spiritual principals and religion is not a mandate of Christmas celebration.

Beautifully stated Bobby.  I couldn't agree more.

Merry Christmas :)

I love Christmas.
Always did and always will.
Shine on candles, fly high hope and mount that star!
It is the hour of magic and I'll always be enchanted by it ...
Have a merry one!
