Applying as a contributor - are they serious?!

Hello,

My name is James and I work at Envato. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree, it's not the best approach. As others have pointed out, there are different perspectives on how to conclude a portfolio review that leads to a no. We've had an internal debate about it (with people presenting thoughts just like what people have presented here) and ultimately we agree that not responding isn't how we want to move forward.

While we've tried to make it clear what the process is, we want people to know just how things are going and when we've finished our evaluation. We've begun work on changing the way the application process works and how it connects with all our systems (not as easy as writing an email unfortunately) and I expect we'll have an updated process to be launched very soon.

If you have any thoughts on words we can use or ways we can share news like this with compassion and empathy, I'd welcome that input. It's never easy to receive a no and if we can do it in a way that encourages people to keep going, that would be my preference.

Thanks again for calling this out and letting us know how you feel and how we can do better.

James.

Here's an idea James how about you pay decent rates for the "high quality" work on elements instead of the pennies and zero amounts you guys current pay out?

Don't come here with woke keywords when envato can't pay for a contributors efforts

I have positive experience with Elements on income basis and with the team communication. On average the monthly income from one contributed image in Elements is times higher than on the other big agencies.
I know the MSG became place for negative comments on all aspects, but in this case my experience is positive and for sure I can recommend Elements.

Hello James,

thanks for answering in here!
I don't really care about being rejected at a site, because this is just how the world is - but what I care about is how this is done.

If a website tells be right after applying as a contributor "If you are unsuccessful you won't hear from us.", I would delete my account right away, after I would have made it through the review. Thats just not the way partners do any business.

So, thanks for your words and I will give a thumbs up, after you have changed your process.
Until I get that answer, to say it in your companies words: "We appreciate your patience!"

Best regards

Edit: And sorry for my english, it's not my first language ;-)

That was really a crappy way to introduce themselves and invite you. Having said that, I have a higher return per image with elements than with any other stock site. Can't complain about that aspect anyway.
