I like to receive StockXpert's XpertTips, I am always learning something.
However, the latest one, "Adding Depth of Field with Photoshop", looks so fake. What do you think? Maybe it is the image they used, I don't think we could ever get such a shallow DOF in this type of image.

I never received that ? I probably doesn't check that in my profile. Have u seen a place on StockXpert where they posted all those tips ?

Yes I saw that and thought that the result was terrible, reminds me of a certain guy on the Shutterstock forums, he takes someones photo in the critique forum and writes a two hour long Photoshop process and then shows his example which is always a complete disaster.

I didn't care for the example either, but I'm glad I read about it. I didn't know about using a layer's channel to control how the lens blur filter works. A little time spent in the help files let to a great example on using it on a picture of a cow, and that WAS a good example.

I don't know if I'll ever go to all the work to apply it in that detail, but it's a nice trick I now have tucked away "just in case".

I get this newsletter in my email. Possibly there is a tick box in your StockXpert profile for this.
