Actually Canstockphoto has had a keywording tool for years.

I have loaded photos on pixmac and cannot work out how to add the keywords or select auto keywords. the page just sits there for me.

Well the fact that Canstockphoto has  a keywording tool is a bit different then when you send Images with title and place where they were taken and someone does keywording and categorization for you
and for free , at leas from my point of view.

Im not a member there so I dont know ( and I wonder) if they do a good job or they just throw 4-5 keywords , but they have my hat down for that move.

Now I remember speaking of them as Fotolia affiliates.

So I was wondering , if people with portfolio on Fotolia already have their work there , wouldn't it be a smart move and join them directly , maybe even avoid too much uploading as they already have large parts of our Fotolia portfolios ?

Has anyone actually got their photos accepted at pixmac with the 'auto keyword'.

My first batch are all still sat there in "Waiting : 2008-09-28" with no sign of anything happening?

Well my apologies for the mistake over the auto keywording. I was wrong of course. Yes, CanStockPhoto had a tool, and pixmac does the work. Different.

Yeah, I am waiting for my acceptance too photohome. Just loaded 25 or so and will try them out.

reveals what ?

Is there a possibility that not all of your Fotolia images are not there ? I see only about 1/4 of my Fotolia portfolio there.

If you are Fotolia member you have to sell your images on picmac as well , so maybe if one already has to be there ,
if that one uploads his portfolio directly there , the share from sales would be divided in 2 parts not in 3 isnt it so ?

And last , if their keywording system is good , maybe one could send first batches there , get his images keyworded ,
and concentrate more on the shooting new stuff , and later use those keywords.

So for example any my images have about 20 or more keywords but i hope that them sort that of priority.

Now do we get a two week break before Petrh comes back telling us all about pixmac again?

It's a Fotolia reseller looking for photographers, nothing more.

What I don't get is, the same people will upload all the same photos to this site, just like they do to every new site and there's no reason for someone buying photos to go there, for the same photos. No marketing advantage to attract buyers to the SOS.  ;)  Unless it's a SS reject, you can find most of the same photos for the lowest subscription prices already, or On Demand.

Say I'm a Fotolia member (which I am) and I start uploading all my photos to pixmac, now what happens? Are they going to find the dupes and dump them or just push the Fotolia versions off the edge of a cliff so they can take their own higher profits without paying the supplier. Are my new uploads to both sites going to start bamging heads to see which version gets up on pixmac, or maybe they just bought the rights to whatever library they have and new Fotolia photos won't be ported over in the future. That actually makes the most sense to avoid complications and confusion.

I hate to be one of the negative voices, but now and then the facts (or my opinion that I see as facts) have to be expressed. This site goes in the bit bucket with the rest of the new start-ups that won't make it past 2009. Only way it will survive is if it's financed by some deep pockets, government backing comes to mind. Anyone else will see that they are throwing money down a sewer and get out of the business.

Look here, a brand new poster registers and starts to yell Hail <New Agency>. He even sold 100 pictures there. No, he has no portfolio on the other sites (or doesn't mention it). Isn't that astonishing? They even do free keywording (as does Snapvillage for almost 2 years). It's even Eastern European and as we all know, their English is as perfect as a native speaker.

Spam-alert.

Registered today. Gonna give them a try.  Just having keywords written for free is a reasonable incentive for me.

What is the point of submitting to Pixmac, they are an affiliate of FT, right?  I already see my images there (not all, though).

After a bad experience at SV that ruined my essential keywords, I'd like sites to stay away from my keywords. With the exception of Zymmetrical since they seem to know what they're doing.

How about the quality of the keywording at pixmac ? Anybody uploaded there and have some feedback on this ?

How would you possibly know which pictures they have of yours and what they dont from Fotolia? It is hard to find them all I imagine.. it isnt like you can search your name on there. They got to know they will end up with duplicates.
