What are your experiences with that?

I am considering recording me and my partner eating / preparing food for current missions, but only if I can get it accepted with limited effort. Would videos recorded by iPhone in 4K be sufficient to be accepted? Any tips from people already sending materials for that?

Adobe Stock / Re: Custom License as low as $0.29 now?

I confirm $0.29 custom sales too, sadly got one of these 2 days ago.

Whatever number you want. Honestly, I stopped submitting anything mid 2023 due to ridiculous rejections, but now things seem to improve, so I started submitting again. I have around 3000 photos waiting to be submitted and I am aiming to do that within a couple of next weeks, working mostly on weekends, so probably 500 a day.

I haven't noticed any pattern when it comes to number of submissions and acceptance rate. It is Adobe, nowadays things tend to be just as random as they can get, don't try to find a logical rule in that mess.

Adobe Stock / Re: Review time
« on: December 10, 2023, 15:53 »
Adobe have serious issues which are preventing them from reviewing images in under a month and preventing them from not rejecting a whole batch at once, hopefully they sort their business methods out next year
It's ridiculous. Adobe has no problem, they sell, and don't need validation of new images to make a profit. On the other hand, yes, some contributors have problems not having a growing portfolio, to represent something other than a micro drop in an ocean of images.
But quality portfolios are still favored by algorithms, and that's good :)
The introduction with ridiculous is of course always a good argument and a good start for a discussion at eye level.

Many of my pictures are now in their third month on hold.

Summer landscapes and cityscapes from Holland that are not yet represented at Adobe and are doing well at other agencies.
So, your conclusion is to find ridiculous that Adobe don't review your pictures whereas they are doing well elsewhere...  why not. personaly, I would not blame you.

Well, if flooding the collection with useless AI images without any quality control, while rejecting real, unique photos from experienced artists is "doing well", then I would say that Adobe is doing great indeed!

Congratulations, I guess, although it would be great to have a bit more background - how many images do you have in your portfolio for example? :P

Funny! Exactly the same image - sold today at shutterstock and the day before yesterday at AS.

Still this is a lousy month!

Wow, I thought Adobe is done with commissions higher than ~$1, haven't seen them in the last couple of hundreds downloads. Congratulations.

Perhaps my situation can add some different perspective to current discussion. I have joined this industry last September, so I am quite a fresh contributor. However, since I've been doing photographs for many years now, I was able to get thousands of images accepted within short time. I focused on Adobe and SS, following advices from this forum. Currently I have almost the same number of files on both sites, equal to ~8000 (should be more than 10000 on Adobe, but I am not able to add anything for months, at this point I am not even trying, as waiting for a month just to get it rejected is ridicuolous).

Anyway, regarding competition between SS and Adobe, in opposition to what most of you say, I can see that SS is getting better and better each month, while Adobe is rather dissappointing me, with pretty much constant number of monthly sales since march (I expected significant growth, considering growth of my portfolio and widely reported here increase in their performance).

The number of sales on both sites is similar, with SS leading slightly this month. However, almost each month I am getting at least one good sale (~50$ for one photo downloaded) which significantly increases rpd and makes SS better than Adobe in terms of revenue.

It seems that things are going back to normal now. The last few batches have all been accepted.

What about review speed - is there any improvement? My last batch of 6 photos has already been waiting for several weeks.

Update: Next batch of 13 images rejected as a whole!!!

Seriously?? Not a single image gets through? Is this the end?

Was it because they are autumn pictures and the review took so long that they are too late?

Mat, can you please explain to us what's going on?

I would need to see the photos. Share them here and I'll be happy to provide a critique.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Come on, Mat! I really appreciate your presence here and I am grateful for all the insights you provide. However, when it comes to review process, the way you act is just ridiculous. Instead of admitting that there is a problem with random rejections (not to mention months of waiting for any decision), you keep pretending that everything is fine. It doesn't matter what the quality of 13 images discussed here is. It is a general problem that affects, as far as I can see, all the members of this forum, even the most professional ones.

It feels a bit like flogging a dead horse, but here's another example of some items accepted into the GenAI collection that should have been rejected.

I know it's not news that AI can't spell, but accepting this work (and these were just a few examples) isn't helping customers in any way. Please have some creatives at Adobe take the C-suite folks aside and explain that filling the collection with unusable work is doing harm. Why would Adobe want to tarnish its reputation as a quality stock site??

Well, accepting such a crap and at the same time rejecting quality content from real phographers is very disrespectful, both to creators and customers of Adobe Stock. I wonder why Mat suddenly stopped replying in this topic, especially considering that there is more and more evidence that review process is completely broken.

So how is it going guys? Is there anyone still trying to submit real photos and can share some insights? I already have another batch of several hundred photos to be added, but I am afraid of getting all of them rejected and wasting my time. Is it still the same as in last couple of weeks?

Anyone received payment for free collection choices yet?

Are there any choices yet? Looks like all of my nominated files are still "under review".

Obviously there is some issue with extraordinary rejection rate at Adobe, even if Matt is trying to deny that.

Today I got really frustrated as out of batch of 500 diverse pictures 400 has been already rejected. And I am surely not an idiot trying to submit some useless crap, previously my acceptance rate was around 90% and I have almost 8000 pics in my portfolio.

Hey Kubeslaw, getting images rejected does not equate to being "an idiot". What is your account number? I'll be happy to take a look and offer you my opinion.

-Mat

Hey Mat, I appreciate your kind offer, but based on previous feedback provided I don't expect your look at my rejected photos to be helpful, therefore I'd rather not share the number of my account.

And I surely didn't state that getting images rejected equate to being an idiot - you have to try very hard to take my words that way.

a little bit offtopic, but how is your sales on adobe? My sales dropped drastically a couple of days ago, like couple times

My sales dropped too, it was great in january, now it's much worse, even though my portfolio size increased by 25% (from 4k to 5k pics) lately.

Anyone with next to no dls on AS prepared to share their rough weekly rank? That should give us some idea.

With 4 downloads this week so far it says that I am ranked 24 000.
