Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe - What are you doing?
« on: June 24, 2025, 10:45 »
My earnings are going down by every month. I am not sure what changes have they made but downloads are decreasing consistantly.
Adobe has been on my top list and seeing them going down hurts.

If you can, you should find another way to get incomes, because probably microstock is near to colapse in the future no so far! Too much people in this business doing AI content (i don't have Ai content). I always have had this clear, microstock is only one income for severals i should have, nowadays very few earning to me. Maybe i have not the better content for the costumers! :)

Well at least finish this week,i sold 5 images in one day (friday).  :)
Somebody once told me
The world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb
With her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an L on her forehead

things have picked up, 2 video sales yesterday and a few image sales...let's hope for the best! :)
Congratulation! Keep strong! :)

I have not sold an image this week! Well is not something strange to me!

5
another oddity undoubtedly,Pacesetter, like this strangeness of mine that continues...even this Monday so far no sales!  :D
We are neck to neck! :)
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Disney and Universal are suing artificial intelligence (AI) firm Midjourney over its image generator, which the Hollywood giants allege is a "bottomless pit of plagiarism".

The two studios claim Midjourney's tool makes "innumerable" copies of characters including Darth Vader from Star Wars, Frozen's Elsa, and the Minions from Despicable Me.

It is part of the entertainment industry's ongoing love-hate relationship with AI. Many studios want to make use of the technology but are concerned that their creations could be stolen.

Midjourney's image generator makes images from typed requests or prompts.

In the lawsuit filed in federal district court in Los Angeles, the studios gave examples of Midjourney-generated images that included Disney characters such as Star Wars' Yoda and Marvel's Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man.

Disney's chief legal officer Horacio Gutierrez said the firm was "optimistic" about how AI "can be used responsibly as a tool to further human creativity".

"But piracy is piracy, and the fact that it's done by an AI company does not make it any less infringing," he said.

In the complaint, Disney and Universal said Midjourney made $300m (221m) last year alone and is planning a "soon-to-be-released video service".

Syracuse University law professor Shubha Ghosh said: "A lot of the images that Midjourney produces just seem to be copies of copyright characters that might be in new locations or with a new background."

"It doesn't seem like they're being transformed in a creative or imaginative way."

He added that there is a recognition in copyright law that creativity can build on other works as long as it adds something new.

Randy McCarthy, head of the IP Law Group at US law firm Hall Estill said: "No litigation is ever a slam dunk, and that is true for Disney and Universal in this case."

"There are several issues such as terms of service provisions by Midjourney, and basic fair use analysis, that will need to be sorted out by the court before we can determine the likely outcome," he added.

Midjourney did not immediately respond to a BBC request for comment.

On its website, the San Francisco-based startup says it has a "small self-funded team" with less than a dozen full-time staffers.

It refers to itself as "an independent research lab."

The firm is run by David Holz, who previously founded a hardware sensor firm called Leap Motion.

Midjourney lists former Github chief executive Nat Friedman and Philip Rosedale, founder of Second Life, among its advisors.

Hollywood sees both potential upsides and downsides to AI.

It was only two years ago that actors and writers shut down the entertainment industry hub with strikes demanding protections against new technology.

But now AI is being used more in TV, films and video games.

Two movies competing at the Oscars used AI to alter voices: Emilia Perez and The Brutalist.

The technology has also been used to de-age actors like Tom Hanks and Harrison Ford.

hi guys, lockdown is over?Has Leaf paid the rent?  :D

sales are going bad, I'm probably having a bug with Adobe, something is happening that has never happened before,6 whole days without even a single sale.

I haven't sold anything since Saturday.
I have only 3 sales this week! I could buy an ice cream at least!

I don't think you're last. How's Injustice For All end up this week? He's a trooper with creating content but going by his recent posts is struggling with sales.

Had a slower week this week myself both in terms of downloads and earnings...

He and I are neck and neck, almost tied! Well, it seems this week went better for me than many others. At least!
i think you won the race last week, for me only 7 sales!

but now I want to forget this May which was the worst month in years.

This month started off better already, with a video sale (real),I hope to leave behind this terrible start to the year!  :D
Congratulations! Never surrender! :)

Very nice! When did you begin to upload content to Dreamstime?
I just checked my statistics - the first download at Dreamstime was in February 2019 (started with stock images in August 2018).
(My best year at dreamstime was in 2021 with about $180)
Thanks! :)

Uploading is very easy, sales are slow. In 2024 I made exactly 100 dollars while adding 2700 files and reaching around 4600 uploads.
Now I have around 5k files and this year so far 10 dollars.
My goal is to reach 100 dollars a quarter one day. And perhaps in 10 years 50 dollars a month.
Probably needs 30k files for 30 dollars a month or something.
All fingers are crossed :-)

I currently have 50,820 files (including about 3,000 videos) and $72.10 in 2025 so far - but since your pictures are of better quality than mine, the goal of $50 a month is definitely achievable!

I follow the Getty Images mantra " Shoot upload and repeat!".

Don't worry, be happy!  :) :) :):)

I can perhaps shed some light on this since I have I have a decent illustrative editorial port, not big but already ok.

when I left Istock, immediately after I started uploading illustrative editorials to Adobe, types of content that Istock did not accept,in the rejections Istock indicated that they were sorry but they could not sell this type of editorial.

On SS my illustrative editorials are my best sellers,I sell them every day,it's incredible.

on Adobe, when I started uploading them about 3 years ago I started selling them often,so much so that today I have 20 on the first page,so the short answer is yes,on Adobe illustrative editorials sell well.

This year,on Adobe however,I have sold fewer than usual, but I am also uploading fewer illustrative editorials than usual.

Today I just sold 2 illustrative editorials on Adobe.

at the moment I'm stuck with the illustrative editorials, but I'm always there ready to start again,I'll probably produce new ones soon,it clearly depends on many factors,I still have things to evaluate,I also have to see how it goes.

The illustrative editorials that I produce are images that generally require at least an hour of post-production,but often even 2-3 hours.
Thanks!

@halffull

I am asking because also the camera producers photo/video are reporting random declines of entire batches for similar or quality. They have been uploading for years with 90% acceptance rate. So now they have stopped uploading.

Somebody is suggesting to do editorial photos. Might try that.

But i am really worried about the rest of the year. If I don't get holiday christmas content into my port now the rest of the year will be a disaster.

I feel like I have been barred from uploading of any content type.

I will try editorial, but that is not a reliable market.
Does editorial illustrative content in Adobe sell a lot? That's the question!

A very bad week for me, in last place as usual. I have no Eastern or AI content. I'm standing firm. Giving up is not an option!
