I found one of my images on a site that sell calendars.... I contacted them and they said that the image was bought from SS via RF subscription. Am I wrong or calendars are in the "items for resale" category and requires extended license?

I noticed Pentax has launched the k-5II and k-5IIs. What i remarked mostly is the impressive high ISO performance. In my opinion almost on pair or with the FF bodies from Nikon and Canon (D800 and 5D3) until ISO 6400 and over current APS-C sensors from Nikon and Canon. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentax-k-5-ii-k-5-ii-s/17

Hi, I noticed for some time now that the colors of images submitted to all major agencies (SS, DT, FT. 123RF ) are not identical to the original uploaded files. I find that even after the images were accepted the colors remain pale; i believe this issue is affecting my sales seriously. Here are some examples on SS and FT ( the biggest earners for me) What is more interesting is that on SS the images waiting to be submitted are showing correct colors and the images waiting to be reviewed are inaccurate. I use Photoshop CS5 and save the images in RGB. At first i believe is just my PC but after checking the phenomenon on several other computers I realize is not a hardware problem.... Any solutions please ...

It is just me or in the last 2 months every agency ( big 5) are way under average regarding sales and revenue?
June and July suppose to be good months but sales are at a record low compared with last year despite the fact my port increased with more than 40%.

Hi ,
I use Canon SLR's ( both film and digital) from 10 years now... Currently i use a 7D with 17-40mm L , 100mm f/2.8 , Sigma 50mm f/1.4, I want to upgrade on FF and the obvious direction is 5Dmk3 ( the new 6D I believe is a joke). BUT I can not overlook the lately Nikon announcements like D800 and D600; especially D600 ... The Nikon D600 and D800 beats the 5D3 in EVERY aspect regarding IQ ,noise lvl , resolution ( where in stock matters )at base ISO. Let's face it who needs high fps, excellent weather sealing, etc. for controlled condition stock photography???
What will be your advice? go for 5D3 or sell everything and jump the ship to Nikon??

Hi, I just came across a website selling large prints (wall murals ) with some of my vintage maps of various cities and places... the problem is that some of the maps does not had been sold via extended licenses ( that allow the buyer to use the image in items for resale).... site: http://www.eazywallz.com/maps/Despite the fact that are PD images I'm 100% sure the images that i refer are mine ( i recognize the PP style, mistakes in PP, framing , cropping ,lightning, WB ,etc.) What should i do in this situation?

i contribute on SS for 11 months now.... in the last 3 months a new type of sale appear at SO section; the $16.80 single & other sale. I have tried to find what type of sale and what rights that licensee entitles ( on forums, SS site etc.) but no success.
I believe is some sort of EL stripped of some rights or is a regular EL license for high volume buyers at a special price.
Anyone know more about this particular license???

Hi all,
Today i discover that my Canon 7D wont trigger the external flash units ( via remote trigger attach on top of the camera) when the photo is taken in Live view mode.
there is a setting issue? or just 7D won't trigger the external flashes in Live view?
Nik,

In contrast with all agencies, how come SS never refunds a sold picture? They understand that the contributors has never to do with the online frauds or mistaken downloads?

Hi,
I want to buy a 50mm lens for my Canon 7D. i read many reviews about the Sigma lens ( i worked with the Canon 50 f/1.4) and many people are saying Sigma is a much better lens compared with Canon especially for the crop sensor cameras. 3-4 out of 10 people has reported focus problem with Sigma 50mm...
My questions are: is that good Sigma 50mm f/1.4 compared with canon??? It's worth the price difference???

Nik

hi,
I don't have money for the expensive power packs dedicated to studio flashes... there is a viable non expensive alternative??
I use outside mainly a 300W studio flash and an 80W slave. I believe one of the cheapest alternative is a 12V, 45Ah car battery and a 400W car power inverter, or a PC UPS.... they are reliable??? Especially the car battery and inverter they can take say 150-200 flash shots at full power?
Your experience in this matter is very appreciated
Nick,

I got a bunch of rejections today ( public domain photos) for the following reason: ''We require public domain images to be older than 150 years old.''. Has anyone received a message like that?
Is this a new rule on SS? The big majority of PD designs, drawings were made between 1860-1900. It doesn't make any sense.

Hi, I just registered on Alamy.com... and my images are ''low in MB'' regarding the agency standards. from what i understand they require more MB from a image than is normal for his format and resolution....... ....!!! My question is: how to up size ( in terms of Megabytes ) a 8MP image jpeg format and 5MB size to 20-24MB JPEG format? .....or is something that i didn't understand?

I want to share my experience on other agencies after dropping the exclusivity with DT (in my case). Port size around 900 photos and 100 illustrations:
SS - 50% acceptance (9/10 from the first attempt) FT - 70% acceptance 123RF - 90% acceptance IS - i never joined them.

Hi, I want to upgrade my almost 4 years old Canon 40D; my choice is the 7D; i mention that i will use it only with high quality L lenses, 40% for people studio work (portraits postures, isolated on white) 30% for objects, food, desserts (in studio, over various backgrounds) and 30% for cases where the 1.6 crop factor and 8 frames/sec is a huge advantage. I am not interested in high ISO capability of the camera above ISO 400. My questions are: - how is performing the 7D sensor in studio shooting people over white background? ( i am interesting mostly in image noise levels at iso 100-200 , the ability to produce sharp images and the ''problems'' with the hair over white background) - the lvl of details and overall IQ produced by 7D in studio is above average considering today stock standards ( SS standards in special)? Thanks in advance for sharing your experience, Nick.

I wonder how many contributors sell 100, 200 or 300 MB files on 123RF? How frequently are those type of sales??
