123RF / Getting paid by 123RF
« on: March 11, 2013, 13:56 »
Evening all

I believe that I have finally reached the minimum payout on 123RF. How does it work on getting them to pay you?

Is there somewhere you request it?

Is the minimum $50?

Is there somewhere where I have to specify that I want it paid into Paypal?

Thanks for any advice!

Alamy.com / What's the benefits of different Pseudonyms?
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:53 »
SSIA really.

Currently, I just upload images under one but is there any advantages of dividing this out into a best of and general one?

Would like to get more sales on Alamy and I'm interested to know what I can to help this along.

Thanks as always!

General Stock Discussion / Alternatives to Alamy?
« on: December 06, 2012, 07:47 »
Hi there

I'm currently a member of Alamy and make the odd sale there. What I was wondering though is can I put my RM stuff anywhere else apart from Alamy?

What other non-exclusive RM libraries are out there?

Thanks for any help.

General Stock Discussion / Pocketstock - who are they?
« on: September 14, 2012, 13:34 »
Evening all

Just opened my emails to an "invitation" to join Pocketstock.

Apparently, if I sign up within 7 days then I'll get a 40% commission rate rather than the regular 30%.

I haven't heard of them but has anyone else? is it genuine? Are they any good?

Thanks

Jools

Pond5 / Price setting at Pond5
« on: July 03, 2012, 04:18 »
Hi there

I've recently made the jump to adding videos into my stock work.

When I upload stuff to Pond5 it auto-fills in a price of $1. Now, I know you can set your own price but what happens if you tick the Set The Price For Me option? Do they just take that $1 that was auto-filled in or do they overwrite it with what they think is right?

Newbie Discussion / Extended licenses questions
« on: July 03, 2012, 01:26 »
Morning all

Yesterday, i received the monthly newsletter and something caught my eye that led me to extended licenses.

My questions are:

1) Should I be selling my images with ELs?

2) Will it harm sales?

3) With regards to Shutterstock, IStock and Dreamstime is there somewhere you can set this? I've seen it on Fotolia but haven't spotted it on the other three.

Thanks

Jools

Afternoon all

I have a curious question to you all.

When it comes to Microstock images, if you had 100 images with one particular library such as Dreamstime, would you then put those same 100 images on other sites such as Fotolia; IStockPhoto and Shutterstock?

Do you think this is a bad thing?

Shutterstock.com / Editorial image problems
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:48 »
Hi folks

I'm trying to get one of my images up on Shutterstock through the editorial root. It can't go up any other way as to try and Photoshop out some of the artwork in it would ruin the image.

It's already on Dreamstime but Shutterstock keep refusing it on the grounds of the "Editorial Caption - proper format needed".

This is the image. It was taken on 21 July 2007. Can anyone help out as to what caption I should actually be putting?

Thanks for anyhelp.

Photo Critique / Does my stock portfolio stand a chance?
« on: February 03, 2012, 03:37 »
Morning all!

I'm new to the forum after being recommended to check the place out by a photographer friend.

Before I go any further, I hope that this is being posted in the right place!

Photography is all I do and since I started out down the self-employment route back in November 2010 I've managed to get signed up with a few agencies.

One of those was PhotoLibrary which has since been purchased by Getty. Macrostock wise I'm also with Arcaid, Robert Harding (images waiting) and Alamy. Microstock it's Dreamstime, IStockPhoto and Fotolia.

This year has been when sales have slowly started trickling through.

My macrostock work:

Be interested in any feedback :)

Thanks

Jools!
