Dear Shutterstock Contributor,
As AI technology becomes more prevalent, Shutterstock is positioning itself as a leader in offering quality training data to customers while ensuring contributors are compensated for their content. In the coming weeks, Shutterstock will expand data licensing to our Video collection, enabling video content that would otherwise not meet the criteria for our traditional stock marketplace to be eligible for earnings under data licensing. Earnings on assets within this library will be paid via the Shutterstock Contributor Fund learn more about it here.
How it works:
Expanded Opportunity:
If Data Licensing is enabled in your account, video content that qualifies for data licensing will now be added to your Data catalog and will be available for licensing as datasets.
Submission Process:
Submit videos to Shutterstock as you would normally. Well review your submissions and let you know how theyre eligible to be licensedwhether through our web marketplace or exclusively for datasets.
Visibility:
Assets approved for creative licensing will be searchable on Shutterstock.com and will be eligible for datasets when opted in. Any assets included exclusively for data licensing will not appear in search results but will be visible to you in your Shutterstock Contributor Portal.
Youre in control of your Shutterstock content:
The account settings page of your contributor account provides options for you to have full control over how the content in your Shutterstock portfolio is licensed. Keep in mind that the more content in your portfolio, the more opportunities youll have to earn extra income.

Can anyone assist me, I got images on Getty submitted through EyeEm that refuses to pay or respond to our messages. I sent Getty a e mail and they responded that EyeEm needs to be taken down via EyeEm. EyeEm have not paid contributors since September 2022 and still receives royalties on our work. I explained that EyeEm gone rogue nor are they paying us.

July 1st, 2022: Our final photo challenge opens for entry today. Submit Your Best Photo
July 7th, 2022: For those who were invited to our Promoted Photos program, access to submit new photos and access to your results/points data will be removed on this date. iStock Royalty Rate Card Change From July 1, 2022, we will be increasing the minimum customer price per file for Exclusive Signature and Signature+ video to $10.00 USD, up from the current levels of $0.75 and $4.15 USD respectively. This will apply to subscriptions on iStock.com. Why Are We Making This Change? As customer demand for video continues to grow and outpace other file types, we want to reward our talented Exclusive videographers and encourage them to shoot even more high‑quality 4k video because we understand the increased investment that video content requires. For Exclusive video contributors, it increases the value of high‑quality video in our Premium + Video subscription product, bringing it more in line with the relative value we assign to high‑quality video licensed using credits. This change will help put more royalties into the pockets of contributors who create the great, Exclusive video content our customers need. (If youre not already Exclusive and have a strong portfolio, find out more about applying for Exclusivity.) What are the details? For files licensed using a subscription on iStock.com, the royalty rate is applied to the price per file. Subscription licenses have a minimum customer price per file applied, so you will always get your royalty rate on every subscription download at or above the minimums.
