Its a common refrain from all of the sites.  "Thank you for joining X.  Don't forget to link to us and send us traffic."

Personally I only blog about my higher margin fine art work.

Stock is a such a great reality check.  Either you have what the client needs or you don't.  You're dealing with professional image buyers.  No amount of "awesome", "most beautiful", "The greatest", "most unique" statements will change the outcome.

If you've seen a large Ansel Adam's original in person than you understand why someone would get upset seeing this watercolor filter over screen grab crap.

Clyde Butcher is the only living artist I've seen who can create such amazing darkroom landscape magic.

I believe the remarks of over the top HDR was in reference to FAA in general.  Regarding Qtalk, the grandiose language used on the site was called into question.

The holdings of the National Archives Still Picture Branch include 226 photographs taken for this project, most of them signed and captioned by Adams. They were taken at the Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Kings Canyon, Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Carlsbad Caverns, Glacier, and Zion National Parks; Death Valley, Saguaro, and Canyon de Chelly National Monuments. Other pictures were taken at the Boulder Dam; Acoma Pueblo, NM; San Idelfonso, NM; Taos Pueblo, NM; Tuba City, AZ; Walpi, AZ; and Owens Valley, CA. Many of the latter locations show Navajo and Pueblo Indians, their homes and activities.

The Kings Canyon photographs were taken in 1936 when the establishment of the park was being proposed. These prints were added by Adams to the mural project. The one photograph of Yosemite was a gift from Adams to the head of the Park Service, Horace Albright, in 1933.

In addition, there are eight photographs taken by Adams of Yosemite in the General Photographic Files of the National Park Service. These photos may still be under copyright protection.

Copyright For Ansel Adams
The Center provides digital scans and facilitates permissions in collaboration with The Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust, which holds copyright to all works by Ansel Adams.

Just like the work done by the FSA photographers like Dorothea Lange's work for the RA and FSA.  It was work for hire from the government so famous images like "Migrant Mother" are available to the taxpayers who paid for it.

That bozo on FAA has posted some of the most iconic Adams images, usually with a crummy watercolor filter applied. AND SELLS IT UNDER THE NAME "ANSEL ADAMS"

March Madness takes its toll on American business.  All work slows.

If Pixels offered all of the merchandise stuff like a Society6 - pillows, three print sizes in standard frames and just canvases - then they could probably expand globally with other partners.

113
There are lots of people using "Ansel Adams" as a keyword or even in a title as in "Homage to A. Adams" or something.  This guy seems to be the only one trying pass off screen grabs as the real deal.

With all of the rampant copyright violations on FAA why would any one sell digital files though their licensing program?

It would be like throwing raw meat to a pack of wild dogs!

116
Amazon is taking a smart approach.  Their beta fine art section only accepts art via galleries (who do the vetting).

117

Some stuff is vintage and public domain but adding a watercolor filter to Ansel Adams and then selling it as an Ansel Adams is just disgusting.

118
Here is Ansel Adams selling prints on FAA

119
Good grief.  Can you imagine when the actual files get out there on the free market?

120
Boy, this is going to be a looooong beta test since there are no buyers to test it.

I revisited my dormant 500px account.  I have a few images there.  Something that sends up a red flag for me is the various attributions.  Reminds me too much of Flicker or Deviant art.  Places that I avoid.

I don't want to put my work anywhere that encourages confusion about copyrights.  I want to put my work where it is crystal clear that my work is mine.  If you want it, you can buy a print or a license.

123
A small percentage even participate in the forums.  Sean only has a small percentage of the overall FAA community even aware of this licensing idea.

124
832 new members today.

With these numbers its mathematical certainty that participants will see diminishing returns.  More and more hopefuls, more and more disappointments when they can't get their work seen through all of the clutter.

I wonder what percentage of members have less than 25 images up.

I enjoy Dilbert cartoons as much as the next person
