They probably calculate time online + no. of downloads + maybe number of views. I know, that for example on fotolia, some of my files were on top of the search and had only few downloads, but were also very short time online. For example: https://eu.fotolia.com/id/117288171 this file is on the first place (popular and releavance) for "deer" keyword (100.000+ results) and has only 3 downloads, but it's also online only for about a week or so.

Microstockr calculated them (said we are calculating partner sales, etc.), gave me a figure but my total didn't change

Yeah, I also don't have any views. What's interesting though is, the other day someone downloaded 17 of my photos, same subject, so obviously, he had to check my gallery/port, and stats page didn't show any gallery views for that day.

It's likely that he bought a 1 month subscription and downloaded as much as possible everyday. If he downloaded 25 images everyday, that's 750 images a month.
I'm just waiting right now. It may take some time to resolve it.
At least, now you know, where your sales are coming from....
