That's how I use it as well. I do not search for exclusive images, but feel that the sampling at istock is a good mix of the best of what's on the other sites, as well as images that can be seen nowhere else. I lightbox possibles for a project, and then when I am ready to purchase, only then do I look at who the photographer is. If they are non-exclusive, I will then go to DT (where it's cheaper) to make the purchase if I can find the same image. If not, I purchase from istock.
This actually great description of buying algorithm :-) I guess some buyers are aware that same picture is available in many places and shop around for lowest price. On the other hand images are already dirt chip. What difference is between 33 and 25 cents? Image itself is a fraction of the cost buyers will charge for their product.

I bet most of people who rant about pirated software use tools from their daytime jobs :-)

Mostly useless. I got something similar, lights are under powered, I use my own tripod instead provided one. The box is probably best of this set :-)

For me December was BME on 123RF, January is back to below normal and February is just pathetic so far :-)

So it's on before all accounts are transferred from SV, right? How long it will take to transfer accounts? Shall I wait or apply for account at Veer Marketplace?

I am still newbie, less than year, so I can tell that the only one with regular payouts is SS. 123RF, StockXpert and DT are like 10x less but still I might get payout every couple months.

Who cares about cosmetic changes in UI. For me, newcomer, it's still less important site. Hard to upload, ridiculously long review time with very small upload limits. Almost non-existing sales. Actually I got more sales on Crestock which is easier to upload to but still very bad with other mentioned factors. Most site were able to review couple thousand photos last year these guys only 200. I am now only uploading 15 images a month to IS, maybe they will start selling some day... For now it's just waste of time.

If you can sell 120,000 images per $0.33 it's would justify to use this camera for micros :-)

I got 300 files there. After lessons with Crestock, FeaturePics, MostPhotos and YAY I am not trying to upload whole portfolio until I got substantial sales. They can go months without any downloads.

It took 3 months to make it happen. Unfortunately it's Fotosearch subscription...

It's two step process:
1. Change extension to something like .e_x_t (some av software check even inside zip files) 2. Archive it (zip, rar or similar)
Send archive as atachement.

They want 12 of my pictures. Only half of them has not been submitted to microstock. I filling forms now and I guess if I can exclude other images later. Also what similar means? If I got photos from same location but different time would it qualify as similar? I guess this is pretty wide term form me.

Unfortunately they may approve only 499 pictures from everybody and then my plan will fail :-)

Hmm, maybe I should sent them on DVD everything that has been rejected everywhere and ask for second option. I can have 10x$100 :-)

My Top 5 stays the same. SS is first as always and FT is fifth. StockXpert got very bad result last month so this time it returned to normal level. 123RF got BME in December now is back to normal levels too. DT continues slow ascending trend. This month will be BME for them. Jan Jan/Dec SS 61.39% 92.49% DT 16.46% 262.79% StockXpert 8.26% 187.50% 123RF 7.31% 30.67% FT 3.91% 65.34% IS 1.60% 72.58% CS 0.76% 125.00% BS 0.31% 100.00% Total 87.94% http://melastmohican.net/wordpress/2009/01/30/january-2009-earnings-breakdown/

Thanks.
I haven't received 1099-MISC from SS yet so I should wait for it then I would be ready to buy tax software.

This year only Shutterstock asked me for W-900 (I made more than $600). Does it mean that only SS is obligated to provide me with 1099 form? How do I handle others where I made some small payout last year?
