Keep your chin up sharpshot. We are getting more sales each month and there is NO WAY we are closing anytime soon. I run a tight ship budget wise and am in this for the LONG HAUL. I know getting up to the top 3 is a challenge but Rome wasn't built in a day and no one ever said this was easy.
Keep up your support. I need everyone's help in order to change the system the way it is now.
Well said. Patience guys. The system is so much nicer for contributors as we have more control over how we price our images, you can go for microstock prices if you want or price it higher if you think the image is worth more. I got my first payout with Cutcaster last year, with 5 sales and I only have 70 odd images with them. So they are attracting buyers, it does take time to establish a business like this and we can help by uploading and keeping our images with them. Even if you don't see any results immediately or in the near future, you never know what the future holds.

I think on most sites you are allowed to choose just one category if you want, which isn't too time consuming. I often like seeing what are the best selling or the latest photos in a category and I'm sure there are buyers who do this too.
edit: changed the word considering to consuming. My English is going to the dogs :-)

DUH...I found it...Just didn't scroll down far enough. I don't do much with 123RF and it is always so slow loading. I hadn't a clue how to download. But like I said I found it...
Glad you could get back your images. I just wrote a blog about this. Our images online at 123, mostphotos is another backup, as long as they don't go bust of course. I read today that dt will email images to you if required. Anyway, this is the blog link. http://www.microstockposts.com/have-you-backed-up-your-photos-lately

And just when my stuff was starting to be accepted on Zymm, they shut shop lol. Thanks Keith for all the time you spent here, I wish some other agencies could take a leaf out of your book.

We had an action awhile back that ran a "save" and reopened the file - we reopened it 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 times - it doesn't change almost at ALL until 50 resaves. Even at 250 it's barely noticeable. I save at 10.
I'm convinced that I can see the difference in quality between a first and second save. Or maybe I've convinced myself. However, because of this I don't like saving an image twice and never save it a 3rd time. I usually save my pics at 11, sometimes at 12.

Lol. It's business, no one looks out for you. Like any company, the company comes first.

I had my first CanstockPhoto downloads today, 3 $0.75 sales. Prior to this, I've had 6 Fotosearch subscription sales. Would be nice to get one of the Fotosearch regular sales though at $19.80.

The site seems quite good. What I noticed, is that they accept images of people without releases, so long as their faces aren't showing.

I had the word 'labourer' flagged, this is British English and was appropriate for the image. The person who flagged was British and had no images. He didn't flag the American version of the word. I deleted the word because he obviously needs the money more that I do. Not impressed with this, very annoying.
IMHO you should not have deleted it - by deleting it you keep alive a bad flagger ... let DT suspend the flagger - the best thing to do if you believe your keywords are correct is simply to ignore the flag completley - DT will take care of it ... they are only going after blatant spam (although I accept that what is one person's spam is another person's creative keywording).
Ok. I didn't know what to do. The one thing I didn't want to do is spend any time on the issue. Didn't want to reply, as it's just silly having a conversation about something so small. Next time I will ignore it, if I feel I have been wrongly flagged. What I don't like about this is, I don't want to go on DT and start disliking other members because they flagged my keywords.

OK, I got my payment today. My US sales are only 16,4% of my total sales.
Haha 16.5% are US based for me. The vast majority of my photos are taken in Asia. Maybe that explains it.

Has someone hacked in to your email account? I hope you can sort this out before they send a payment.
All the sites should add an extra level of security. They could send another password or pin number to our snail mail addresses to access our money only.
Don't say that . My snail mail address changes so often. I had enough problems proving I was British for the tax thing, as my address at the time was out of the UK. It's good that they email about the changes. I'm sure ss will sort it out pretty fast.

Put my second story on today. One of the images was selected for their widget, (edit: link removed. 2 years on never got a sale on this site and didn't continue to upload. Plus their watermarks are almost non-existent if you have images which are not so dark, I emailed them about this, they never replied.)
Ok it's not a sale, but it's still something.
"Each week the Demotix Team licenses 20 images which appear in the Demotix Widget. Each time one of your pictures is used in the Widget, you get paid 12.50 and get a badge on your profile. Images on the Widget are displayed for 1-4 days."

Been with them since April last year. 75 images, $27.50 ($24.50 because of purchases). I was looking forward to finally getting the 30 bucks, it's the only site out of the 4 big ones that I'm with, that I haven't reached payout. Then the payout increases to $50 . Maybe I'll just use my balance for more purchases.

I've never understood why someone would want to spam, I doubt that they would get extra sales because of it. I do add a lot of keywords to my images, some of which have vague connections to my images, but I often find that buyers buy my images from these keywords. Today I had a download of an aerial shot of the city of Doha in the country of Qatar, however the buyer found the image using the keywords "Saudi Arabia". I've written clearly however, in the title and the description of the image that this is Qatar.

Hmmm 95% recognition 56% temporal That's a huge difference!
Maybe you often recognise people, but you often can't place where you know them from

Yeah it's interesting how he mentions how the community is so important, but a couple of comments mention how censorship is so prevalent in the forums. I've never understood why microstock sites create forums, only to become paranoid about what is discussed in them. Shutterstock's forums seem to have very little censorship, but it hasn't stopped it from being a success. I'm not a contributor to Istock by the way, so don't know if the comments are true or not.

I think dragon_fang is great and I don't think buyers bypass images because of a name. If anything it has probably helped you, I can just imagine a buyer in his place of work trying to remember Richard...what was his name again? And anyway there is this guy called Yuri .. umm, anyway his name escapes me, but I've heard that he's doing alright.

so swine flu + avian flu = flying pig flu?
And the only thing which can stop flying pig flu is flying Rabbis. Airborne rabbis fight off swine flu
