it is possible that this is a real issue..
BUT if you ask me what I think it is? then I believe this is not legit..
The explanation they provided is not enough and if they are asking to get any money back, they should be more transparent about what happened..

Here is the reply I got:
Hello,
Our API re-sellers re-sell images not only by subscriptions but by credits as well. Your royalty rate is fixed and depends whether our API re-sellers purchased your files by credits or by subscriptions directly on depositphotos.com. Once your file is sold by credits, you will get your commissions that you usually receive when your files are sold by credits, depending on your contributor's level. So the point is that our partners re-sell your portfolio by credits as well throughout the world. Regardless the way your files are sold on our partner sites, Depositphotos remains your main source of revenue. Your portfolio will be removed from our partner programs and API re-seller sites as soon as possible. Should you have any further questions or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Cathy, how many sales do you have with your new theme?
I am guessing none.. if symbiostock is not working, the other solution is less likely to work..
Why am I saying this? Because I had a wordpress store on the same domain from 2009 to 2013.. and symbiostock's first 10-11 months is already better than the 3-4 years I had with that other script.. slightly better money wise, but it is impressive since symbiostock only needed about one year to match my previous 3 something years..
I hope it works better for her, but this is my experience..
see post #155 above. Only changed about 3 weeks ago. Willing to give it at least 10 months, same as SY. I hope it works better for me, too. But my expectations are very low. If I sell 2 images, I will have doubled my sales over what I did with the SY theme.
Glad it's working better for you. Hopefully with more people building SY sites, you will see an increase in sales.
I see.. 2 sales will surpass symbiostock but it might be a coincidence since there is not much difference between 1 and 2 sales.. imo you should have continued with symbiostock, but that's your thing to decide.. Again I hope it works out well.. I see you are using photocrati.. that wasn't the one I used, so it is possible your results will be better.. If it helps, I recommend to stay away from google Adwords unless you like burning money.. do not spend money at all.. I tried them all in 4 years and traditional advertising is not working well for stock imaging.. Focusing on SEO is the best thing you can do..

Many suppose I got rich off of this. like if there is anything wrong with that! I believe even the haters will accept that symbiostock is "at least" a good product which is also FREE? it may not work equally well for everyone.. but it's a good product that works.. and good products deserve good returns..

can't do anything about bluehost..
but what I can do is recommend you godaddy web hosting..
I have been with them for 3 years now and it has been up almost %100 (I think my site was down for like an hour in 3 years and they gave me some store credits as an apology)
I have hosted my own sites since 2006 and used like 4 different companies.. I experienced major downtime issues on all of them apart from godaddy..

OLD THREAD ALERT
+1 Times change! Back then it was unrealistic for them to rank above 123rf and bigstock.. but now they outsell bigstock by a large margin and are nearly on par with 123rf.. Oh and they also outsell fotolia and dreamstime, so yeah easily within the top 5..

Hello everyone,
I need to take website screenshots of some model Symbiostock sites.
If possible, I'd like to ask people to volunteer their sites for the Symbiostock.com front-page gallery if possible. Simply post here if you are able.
feel free Leo.. It's only good for us

Did anybody experienced the move and what it implies in term of stock photography? If I understand, only FT will pay in , for the rest I will have to swallow the bad exchange rate (and it's pretty bad). So, I'd like to get some feedback of someone who went through that experience if possible and any advice is welcome. Thanks so much in advance!
No! FT won't pay in euros.. you will continue to receive dollars.. You could receive euros even if you are in the US if you wish.. just start a new account from fotolia EU and done.. stupid yes, we all know

... I have sent a duplicate to customer support as well as contributor relations.
Customer support may be faster..
Or they may simply tell you it's not a customer issue. Be sure to let us know, either way!
You are probably right.. Of course, I will let you guys know..

Has everyone sent them an email and ask what's going on?
If you haven't, why?
Who else is going to defend your rights..
Did you take out a ticket to ask why October suddenly and inexplicably had a far better RPI than usual?
(Before you ask, I did take out a ticket when I suddenly found a $50 PP sale though I'm not in the PP, and found it was Getty360.)
I haven't heard from them yet..
Don't HYB - I've got an outstanding ticket from 6th December.
We will see.. I have sent a duplicate to customer support as well as contributor relations. Customer support may be faster..

I got the same email too but when I went to my tax center to re-submit the tax form I noticed the expiration date was 2014-12-31
why resubmit if expiration date is 2014-12-31? am I missing something?

I think October PP sales were a one-time special month only, and now it's back to the normal, low-RPD. I always considered October's PP sales completely out of range compared to 'normal' PP sales.
However, they should give an explanation as to what happened.
We are not talking about a few contributors.. everybody, without exception, had a good month.. and now everybody is having a bad month.. what's the deal here?
143
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:36 »
It seems the October PP was a once off. Seems to be back to normal penny earnings. Makes you wonder what happened in October.
Send them an email and ask.. if they don't provide a logical explanation, then sue them.. if hundreds of people ask for it through their support (not on the forums) they will have to respond and act on it..

I sent this email to istock to ask for an explanation..
"Hello,
Please explain why october partner sales were decent and this months partner sales are abysmal.
this is going to be a court case if you don't provide a logical explanation.
Best Regards, Cihan"
They do owe me an explanation.. I urge everyone to do the same.. Don't let them screw you like this.. We have the right to ask for transparency about why the sales were good last month, and suddenly awful this month.. Did they withdraw our files from those partner sites? Did customers stop using them?

Sorry to say, but it seems fishy to me. My October sales were great, and then the next day, November 1, they suddenly dropped? Coming after the Christmas Eve Clawback (sorry, "refunds") in many people's ports, it's especially fishy. My most popular file of all time on iStock sold the most in November, but somehow PP sales plummeted.
November was my BME on Shutterstock. Same images.
I simply don't trust iStock to be honest about my sales any more, unfortunately.
totally agree.. that is veeery veery FISHY they still have our files on all those additional sites.. it's impossible that we only had 1 good month and files suddenly stopped selling.. I think what we see here is sales were reported correctly last month and this month they wrote a script to filter some sales.. thus it took as long as it did to report them.. after all, contributors believed it was a mistake anyway..

I think I am going to sue istock.. this is definitely not normal..
thanks to many people here and there who were surprised to earn a decent amount, I think istock thought it was too much for contri-losers and decided to screw contributors..
mid september, it had started to be decent and october was good, "november suddenly dropping" is definitely a "screw them up scheme"
no one can convince me otherwise..

a bit off topic but I am getting quite a few spam registrations on my site these days..
I just don't get it.. Why would anyone want to create a spam account on my site? since the comments are disabled and the only thing a registered user can do is "buy" images?..
Seriously, why register just for the sake of registering? Am I missing something?
... probably because the spam bots don't know that comments are disable. They just go through their auto spam process. 1. find a wordpress site 2. sign up 3 post a comment automatically and hope it shows up
if it's an automatic spam bot and not a human, how does it get past the captcha plugin? probably I should complicate the captcha options a bit.. then I don't want to make the process harder for legit customers..
