I think they havent even realized that they have completly changed their business model.
That is the really scary part.
It would have been really easy to introduce curated collections while not disrupting the marketplace.
Pond5 was the agency that had everything at every price point, the first place you go to.
With their weird reviews and artists favoring other places, they will quickly fall behind. Somebody else will have the largest collection in the market.
There is no oversupply in video.
And nearly nothing in 4k.
The comments on the forum point to a management that wants a completly different company and believes they have the right to micromanage our portfolios.
They should be proud of what made pond5 unique, not destroy itś USP.
As I said long ago...great idea but bad execution, that's P5. I doubt buyers would agree with you that everything was in place...many things were missing from their pov. P5 wild recruiting policy was also rather weird and in the end that crew wasn't able to deliver what was needed. Too much experimenting on every level.... Without knowing how to lead, old management was therefore sized and ill advised to all this. New management, new employees (some chameleons just changed their color though!), new logo, new site, new offices, new biz model ... I am sure there will be no way back to marketplace as it once was.

What I found interesting in all this is that P5 actually got that massive funding based on market place idea and not on this new "boutique gig".
Possibly after some observing and closer look into the real numbers, Investors concluded there was no way to earn on higher scale, so they opted for exclusivity and boutique path. OR they are just experimenting into all this and in worse case scenario instead of IPO they will just go for acquisition and return their invested $.
Time will tell...

Let's take a different perspective on this.
They've gone through 7 rounds of financing and they've pretty much gave the majority of the company away to investors. In 2014, the founder & CEO of the company was ousted because he was basically being too nice to the community instead of making money off of them.
With pressure from the board, the new CEO needed to start making money or else. Oh, let's not forget that investors in Silicon Valley are incredibly nervous right now and has been pressing their investments toward a path of profitability. And any chance of 500PX getting more funding was pretty slim in this funding environment.
And all the the pressure and nervousness has led to this. Investors want higher revenue so it can possibility go public one day or secure a nice exit in the future. Higher revenue always means higher valuation. 70% was always too good to be true. It was not sustainable for 500PX and it can never be. Now the party is over and they're like everyone else.
So I wouldn't blame Thompson. He's just the messenger.
You can just copy and paste this to Pond5 thread. It's coming...it's a pattern. Help them grow & get bitten in the end!

So people are still buying stories about different sides in high politics knowing that governments budgets are nothing more than corporate or private properties and the countries them self are registered companies ?
Chill down, they are just picking a face thats gonna stare at you from the screen more frequently announcing decision which will empty your pockets more explaing how you are gonna benefit from that in the future.
How do you know when a politician is lying? answer, their lips are moving. I trust none of them to be doing anything except what is for their own ego, power and financial gain. Noone with any sense would run for President.
I agree, but still ... still curious to see would Bernie be any different.

Do you guys really think they really care what we shout about here or on their forum? They entered corporate world and there is no way back to charming little P5 who once claimed to be "the most friendly marketplace"! They wanted BIG, they will get there for sure. AND please, don't blame this new management, blame the old one who didn't know how to manage/keep/lead the idea and called for help, obviously wrong ppl for us....but great ppl for them, cos of $$$$$$$$$$$. And us?... ah ... same old good story. We help them grow and get bitten in the end.

I am deeply frustrated with pond5, first the endless wait to have content reviewed, then all those crazy rejections as "not stock footage".
This whole micromanaging of the artist portfolio is just destructive for any entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
The whole beauty of pond5 was that it was a real marketplace - high quality clip - expensive price, simple clip or test shots - 10 dollars for bloggers or people who need cheap stuff to experiment with. Not every buyer is a multi million dollar cooperation. There are lots of normal people, small companies that need affordable content.
The management is free to create as many stunning galleries or lightboxes as they want and pitch them to the customers.
But please stop micromanaging, it is extremly frustrating, especially if the rejected files then sell elsewhere.
Pond5 was my favorite agency and I always hoped they would become successful with photos as well.
Now I dread uploading there and like many others will place more focus on Adobe, Videoblocks and Shutterstock.
If the management wanted a new company, why didnt they open up a different place in addition to pond5, instead of changing a beautiful system that worked really well.
Old management wanted more $$$ and didn't know how to get that, so they opted for huge investment in hope to help them grow. "Beautiful system that worked well" is not bringing enough $$$$ for the new management. It's simple...you can't employ all these VPs, Cxx, Directors, Ivy league ppl and give them peanuts to work for... like kids under old management did for years. PLUS new swanky offices, endless travels and vacations...that ALL costs. But old management got rich and they are happy now... It's time for the new management to get rich. Help them do it!

The amount of your 1099 must match the amount you received - exactly.
Years ago, I had an issue where a client paid less than what was on the 1099. A call to the IRS got it straightened out quickly. Within two weeks, I had a corrected 1099. Your income (for taxes) is based on what you actually received. An incorrect 1099 does not change your tax obligation.
Very true! But it does give opportunity to the issuer (client) to grab some extra money for themselves via claiming less income ... for example, you received more than showed on 1099. Would you call IRS then?

One thing we can be sure of is that the day after he wins the nomination, Trump starts dramatically changing his pitch and showing us Trump 2.0. He knows that to get the Republican nomination, you run off the rails to the right, but to win the election you move back to the center. So expect to see an all new Trump, more mainstream and less crazy, and also expect the news media to continue to play right along with him and give him exactly the sort of coverage he wants - while at the same time badgering Clinton about an email server.
After the election the lefties move to the right, forget their promises and it's politics as usual. None of this is unexpected from either party.
Clintoon has many skeletons in her closet, financial insider stock trading, but putting national secrets on a server in your basement to hide the rest of your underhanded dealings email is wrong.
Trump could forget half of what he promises and still start turning the country around, run like a business, and I'd be happy. Build that wall, stop illegals from draining the system, lower taxes and the reduce freeloading people. Ask somebody who lives near the South border, in AZ or in LA CA. The ones who pay the taxes, have the crime and are mad as hell. Melting pot means joining and becoming part, not refusing to become part of the nation, or learn the language, but taking free medical and education, without paying taxes.
"Insider trading", "underhanded dealings", what are you referring too, specifically, and where is there a scrap of evidence for any of it? Are you imagining that Trump would even bring up the "wall" again after being elected? Or that there are no skeletons in Trump's very large closet? Or that a guy who's been through 4 bankruptcies is the one to run the government "like a business"?
When I was doing a bit of trading on the stock market, I read a book and was surprised to see the author put in print that Hillary Clinton had been doing illegal insider trading. I can't remember the book, it was over 10 years ago. The author challenged her to sue him if she thought his accusations were false, as far as I know, she didn't do anything to clear her name. Then there's the Bosnia sniper story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1582795/Hillary-Clintons-Bosnia-sniper-story-exposed.html
I don't think she's a fit person to be president of the US but if Trump is the only other alternative, she is by far the better option.

For sure...spread the word. Would complaining to these guys help? https://www.usa.gov/consumer-complaints#item-35997- File a complaint with your local consumer protection offices or the state regulatory agency or licensing board that has jurisdiction over the seller. - Notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in your area about your problem. The BBB tries to resolve your complaints against companies. - Contact an appropriate federal agency. While these agencies may not resolve your problem, your complaint helps them investigate fraud. If the purchase was made online across international borders, you may also file a complaint with econsumer.gov. - Seek legal help. If none of these options work, you may seek to resolve your problem through the legal system or through an alternative dispute program, such as arbitration, conciliation, or mediation.

Has anyone send them an email asking for any explication for this mass rejections? Din you get any response?
No reply. They do read this forum, I ve got confirmation from an insider. Why they don't engage at MSG, nobody knows. Fancy more insanity? At P5, Dev team helps buyers ... No offense to IT guys, but this kind of reply will not persuade anyone to join that gig. http://www.pond5.com/community?forum=715&thread=52887369A QUESTION BEFORE GETTING A MEMBERSHIP swoo007 17 Mar 2016 08:45 I'm planning to get a monthly membership. It says 10 clips per month and 10%off on all clips. Is it any 10 clips in pond5 or is there a limited selection? If so, how do I know which are free when you get a membership and which aren't? jonasdev 17 Mar 2016 09:02 Hi swoo007! Thanks for looking into the Membership Program. There is a limited selection of clips that are available within the Membership program. You can search for membership content only by clicking the "Membership Content" checkbox in the search filter. Like this: http://www.pond5.com/stock-video-footage/1/new-york.html#1/2063/membership:1,new,york.Additionally, as you say, you get 10% off on all clips in the entire library with the Membership. Most Americans trust successful business leaders far more than they trust politicians.
Bernie hasn't a chance, Hillary was anointed by the Dems a long time ago. The only thing that would keep her out is a trip to prison.
Simply NOT true! After last night Hillary only increased her delegate lead by 57, leaving Sanders plenty of room to eliminate her advantage in the 24 remaining states. A candidate needs 2,383 delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination, and as of March 16, Clinton only has 1,139 delegates to Sanders 825. All of the states most favorable to Clinton have already voted, and the states most favorable to Sanders are still on the calendar.
Feel the Bern!
http://artists4bernie.com/2016/01/16/bernie-so-punk-by-abcnt/
You must be getting your facts from a Bernie email. The count is 1,606 Hillary to 851 Bernie. She only needs 776 (33% of the rest) more to clinch it.
http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/delegate-count-tracker http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/democratic_delegate_count.html
I don't like either of them fyi, so I have no dog in that hunt.
Stop misinforming people! Let the facts speak! Your math included superdelegates, which is wrong because they can change their votes!!!! 2,383 to win nomination Hillary Clinton 1,139 Bernie Sanders 825 Superdelegates Clinton 467, Sanders 26 Superdelegates are democratic party leaders who are free to support any candidate. The majority of the 712 superdelegates have declared support for Mrs. Clinton, though they could switch candidates if she were to lose the lead in pledged delegates, which are awarded based on election results. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/elections/primary-calendar-and-results.html?_r=0Who knows what will happen over the next two months. Hillary Clinton's support could completely collapse and Sanders could easily roll up huge margins in every state. Possible. All of the states most favorable to Clinton have already voted, and the states most favorable to Sanders are still on the calendar.

I don't understand the mentality. If people think the system is corrupt why vote in some super rich guy? Why not vote in someone that wants to reform the system like Bernie. Does the electorate think the solution is to only have super rich politicians from now on? And by the way rich doesn't mean incorruptible, they didn't get rich by not being greedy or knowing enough is enough.
Most Americans trust successful business leaders far more than they trust politicians.
