Just so you guys know, we don't have partner sites that rep our work like other sites do and report back sales to us.
We want to know when we make sales for our contributors and don't want to rely on thrid parties to report back to us.
We work with companies like ImageTrail, for example, so they index our content and send us interested traffic back to the Cutcaster site so we keep track of the transactions internally and can be completely transparent about sales. We pay the referral fee from any sales that are generated out of the percentage that Cutcaster takes so it doesn't eat into your payout. Your work gets more exposure but it doesn't get murky with regards to who holds the copyright and whether your content has sold. You agreed to sell through Cutcaster and that is what we offer. Sales through Cutcaster. We get traffic from other sources and ImageTrail and Peter are a great source plus Peter is a really nice guy. We only work with companies like ImageTrail if they are open to a referral type deal and don't do transactions on their own site so we don't have to worry about reporting or lack thereof in some off cases.
We want everything to be upfront, transparent, fair and real-time. This is so contributors can see how much they are selling and how much they earn AND don't have to rely on the integrity of murky reporting and partnerships. I can't stand that some companies don't show contributors who is selling their images if they are not a part of the mother company you uploaded to in the first place. Who knows what is going on with the images and sales and you have to trust someone you don't know.
And thanks for your support. I am working my butt off and it is starting to payoff. There are more ELs and more daily downloads by the week. We want to work with you and present another alternative for your photos and illustrations to earn you money.
What we need now is a few more exclusive photos.

We are looking to hire another PHP/MySQL guru at Cutcaster and want to ask you guys first if you could help or know someone who might be. You should have experience with e-commerce sites and have a great knowledge of php and mysql. Experience with CodeIgnitor and Amazons Web Services is an added plus. Need to be comfortable speaking English. Please send us your background to [email protected] so we can review your qualifications and if appropriate schedule some time to speak. We are looking to fill this role immediately.

This should be working now. If you had files that were rejected automatically just email me and let me know so we can move them back to the upload area. Also you can just erase those files and reupload them again. Thanks for your patience.

I just saw that IF. I am working to correct that but that is a bug on our side and the files were not rejected bc of any issues that a reviewer saw.

Nice work today. Great sales today for a lot of people but you take the cake.

Hahahaha. True. Went to bed at 2am PST and then was up for a call with a content development/pre-press vendor at 7am PST. It was a great call and a bigtime image buyer so things like that keep me very excited and knowing we are going in the right direction.

IF
What frustrates me is the same thing that frustrates you. I have spent the last 72 hours on almost nothing else besides a few sales calls I make every day. Cutcaster needs quality images and illustrations and when the uploading is out of whack it creates more work for everyone, from the contributor to Cutcaster. For the contributors inconvenience I am sorry. I understand why it is frustrating but in our defense our upload process is one of the easiest and hardly ever down for more than a few hours in a whole year. We want to make it easy and profitable to upload to Cutcaster.
The issue with the FTP looks like a hard disk failure that led to some issues with our server which the FTP resides on. The uploader or when you processed your uploads after using an FTP client, wasn't reading all the file's metadata and thus was automatically rejecting files because they appeared to be below our minimum file size of 1600 by 1200. I am sure the system read the resolution as 0 X 0 and rejected them on that basis. That is why they end up in the reject area immediately. I am not as technical as most on this site but we believe we have the server issue sorted out and have been testing and freeing up space on the drive so it doesn't rear its ugly head ever again.
I am working hard to remedy the problem and want to get back to my normal business day of focusing only on getting more buyers. When I have more info I will 100% update it here. Thanks

Good info. This will help. I think we narrowed it down to the processing button and there is a glitch when you process your uploads that is caused by our site and not you guys doing anything wrong. I am sorry for the frustration and hope this hasn't led to too much inconvenience. It is my top priority going forward until it is working again. And then I am back to buyers work ;-)

We just increased the firewall settings as well so that should fix the issue. Let me know if it does not. We have been testing this morning and it is working with no glitches.

Can you help us improve our service by answering this 2 minute photo buyer survey which is anonymous? I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thank you so much. http://bit.ly/9Q8GQ7

Should be fixed now. Did a bunch of testing and changed a few settings on the server so I hope this is behind us. Let me know if any of you still have problems and I can send you further instructions.

Yep there is indeed a problem that is a bug on our side. Working on that yesterday and more today. I will report more news here once it is fixed or as I learn more. Thanks for any feedback regarding the problem so we can get it fixed sooner.

Let me check into this. I have been getting other reports that something might be up. Give me a few and I will report back here. If you have any other info on what could be happening let me know. but in the future just click the process button once and let it process the files. The reason why they are going to the reject area is because they were either not uploaded right or when they were transferred it got cut off. I will take a look.

I appreciate it and am not stopping. I'm doing everything I can to tell people about Cutcaster and talk to as many photo and vector buyers as possible.
More good things to come. What do people think about the new lightboxes we just released?

Great to hear. I am excited just by the number of new lightboxes that were created by people. It seems like they are easier to use and should save buyers a lot of time. Happy they are released.
