Hmmm, I had two batches of 15 go through today with only one reject between them ... perhaps you should send them an email.
I just sent mail to the support. It is actually my third mail to them about review time since January 6th.
they seem to go in bursts, in a couple of hours they will do a pile of what is waiting, then you wait for weeks. Last time they got half way through my january 7th submission, the other half has now been waiting for a couple of weeks (with the 100-200 images sitting after it).

just a thought... what is terms of the rf license? is it a restricted license like with most micros or the more general like alamy (allows unlimited print runs etc etc)? if it is like alamy, then that is a microstock extended licence, so pricing at $50 for full size is the same as a luckyO or dreamstime and cheaper than stockxpert or Istock for the same license Phil

to my thinking, there are a number of other factors to consider as well, those higher mp dslrs generally have more features geared towards professional use, and hopefully better image quality as well. but then it comes down to whether those features are of use to you (I couldn't imagine using 8fps etc).
higher mp also gives more crop space which can be nice, had one pic at 10mp that put on stock then did two 5mp crops which I also listed as well.

Well,
Mixed result what i'm reading here.
For me, fotolia is now fighting with SS for best selling site.... strange because after the revamp i had hardly any sales, hardly any views and somewhere along the road this changed over night.
Two months in a row both sold extremely well, by just a slight difference of 2 dollar... fotolia second place, this month seems to be giving same results.
Patrick.
always find it funny how different sites work for different people, fotolia has been on a steady decline for me, ended up 7th for december, with less than half of 123rf's earnings (which was 4th).

Haven't sold anything there since 11/21. By far my slowest site. November was my best month and December close behind everywhere else.
have a look at http://www.featurepics.com/Editorial/Stock-Image-Price-Statistic.aspxshows what prices there are the most sales at etc. Seems to me to be either price at $2 or $5 to get the most people??

hi, without in depth looking at their financial status and management plans, ideals etc etc, I feel that each of these sites (and a number of others) has the potential to become a very serious player by this time next year, I think they each also have the capacity to fall in a heap and disappear. A thought for the sake of discussions (re the istock exclusive discussion). Istock have also gone very hard on their inspection. The acceptance rate is quite low for many people, if this continues there will be considerable content that istock doesn't have that others do, would that then give others some advantage counter to istock exclusivity (yes it may be lower quality, but still good enough (hmm one of the main arguments for microstock in the beginning?) ie a divergence of content that may bring people to the other major players as the content becomes different. also I find the idea of saying I dont want overdone images interesting. I am starting to find on istock that images with 0-few sales struggle, once it has more, it grows and grows (seem right to other people???). looking through images in the database, one images will have hundreds of sales and one very similar will only have a few, even when they come up on the same page. It appears that people tend to buy the image with lots of sales, maybe??? they think it must be good or better because lots of other people have bought it? Phil

I make $30+ per month on BigStock with 1400+ images there. It's a third tier site, and I would be very surprised to hear that anyone earns a significant amount using it.
In general, BigStock is slow-ish for me, but last Christmas and again this November, they are selling like crazy. Last month they topped $300 per month and were my top earning site!
They've never been #1 in the earnings tally, but good Christmas sales and the price increase worked wonders. I have about 1500 images there.
This month they're running #2 (not far behind SS) but I don't expect that to last beyond the holiday season. We'll see how the coming year goes - how the price increase works out over time.
oh, I've been really pleased with sales the last 8 weeks or so, I hoped the big increase in earnings was hear to stay

iStock without a shadow of a doubt.
SS would be last on my list. I think they're great - but I don't think they are a good investment for the future.
I agree about ss, I dont see them as long term. Based on sales it would have to istock they are 33% of total stock income with less than a quarter of my images and I would get the advantages of exclusive but I like dt better

There's a long thread of people experiencing the same thing on the Micropayment Yahoo group so you are not the only ones this is happening to. I think they're really starting to crack down on the non-exclusives
thats what I always wondered, I knew exclusive go faster approval but are they less hard on images from exclusive people. I've had about 25% approval for the past 3-4 weeks (normally 60% on IS, 90-95% elsewhere) three have been for poor isolation (100% acceptance everywhere else) and all the others (so around 50+ images) for poor composition / impact, then you go look at newest uploads and shake your head. Also noticed I get a reviewer go through about 10-15 images and put through the rejections in an hour or so and then whats left gets approved of the next couple of days. seems to be a mad rush and it is easier to reject than actually look at the image. but what is so frustrating is the majority of my best sellers are 'not stock' or poor composition etc and the very average stuff gets through, I struggle to believe that anyone really knows what is going to sell well and what isn't (beyond broad categories)

I was recently approved at 123rf and have started uploading my images there. They're web form interface for uploading is very simple and I like what I've seen so far ...
What is traffic like to 123rf and how does it compare with say DT, FT, and BigStock where I am also currently approved and have portfolios ... being new to all its hard for me to tell. I've had my first sale at DT ... but am still awaiting my first sales at all of my other sites.
Any comment would be greatly appreciated regarding 123rf and its comparisions to those other than SS or IS where I am still awaiting approvals ...
Mark
at this stage they are #5 for the month by about $0.50 so look to be #4 or #5 for the month

8633 views, no sales I'm giving them a bit longer, as there is no effort to upload. I *think* (dont really know) they are stuck with not enough contributors to be able to market etc, so whether they can get past this I dont know. Phil

I must say that I am impressed with the progress being made over at 123RF.
I think their web site is fantastic - great design and seems to work fast. The 'see similar' button is amazing (I wonder why other agencies can't get this right).
I'm pleased to see an agency investing and growing.
Fingers crossed for the future.
I did the my fave images thing about 3 months ago and they went from 2% of my sales to the last two months about 5%, and has been within $10 of StockXpert and ft sales for the last 2 months. So I am pleased with them, I just really dislike their similar image accepted policy, I get images of same subject, but absolutley totally different images rejected...

Have you ever tried reverting a rejection in DT? How? Did it work? I've sent emails to [email protected] a couple of times and never received any reply.
Regards, Adelaide
one of my first submissions, I got 'we have too many like this' for a sturts desert pea (an iconic australian flower) on the standard review emails and being very new at the time and not realising there are probably procedures for this , I just hit reply, and basically said that I did a search and you don't have any like it, you dont have any at all, and this one is really nice. they didn't respond but the image was live about a day later. phil

It seems to me he has figured out something you haven't and your jealous. Who died and made you the keyword police?
umm, because if he can do it, then others say I have to do it too, so that my pics show up or they say well it is working for him I am going to do it too, then there is a million+ images with 300++ keywords and buyers search for something specific like and aardvark, find 20000+ abstract images and say stuff this I'm going elsewhere and the site dies.

I am outgrowing my Excel spreadsheets for managing all my pix, sites and sales. Not to mention, I still keyword and descript by hand... I need something with some bite to it! I'm reading about Extensis Portfolio 8.5, ACDsee Pro Photo, MS Expression Media, ImageFolio Commerce, GraphicDetail's Thumbs Up, Adobe Lightbox, Canto Cumulus 7.5.... yikes!!! I need some good solid advice and opinions. What do you use and why? Are you happy with it?
hi, i like idimager ( www.idimager.com) few quirks but cheap, good support has a heap of functionality (that I never use there is a comparison here http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/flow-catalog-compare.htmlmost have a download version, and I think that's the way go, download some, give them a try and seewhat works for you. But THEY ARE employed.....that's my point! A reviewer is such a lowly job, don't you agree?
No. Reviewing is a great job and reviewers are great, I aspire to be like them. They are the best part of microstock, I love them all. <<Any reviewers here? >>

One of my lastest uploads is this one:
http://www.123rf.com/photo_2019466.html
In 123 was accepted, but it was not in Bigstock for this reason:
"Potential copyright / trademark / privacy issue with photo (could be: copyrighted art, visible logo, license plate number, etc) sorry..."
There are hundreds of towers like that in the stock sites, why this is not valid like any other classic or ancient tower? What are they afraid of? How can I avoid this stupid rejections?
take out the manufacturers name and retry. every site and reviewer is different I've been knocked back for being able to read the "...DEN" part of 'holden' on a jacket (about 4 of 12 sites), squiggly lines and a large E as 'artwork' on a jumper (less than 1/2 of jumper visible) - 2 of 12 sites and the one I love "The National Company 19..." engraved above a wheel on a steam train, Istock was the only to pick this up, they told me where it was and I had to play with the contrast with the monitor I had at the time and I could just read it at 100%. Somehow even if it got used for a billboard, I dont think 'the national company' are going to sue me

The irony I have, is last year I bought a lot of gear from the the US and payed about US$1 = AU $1.35 (still cheaper than buying here), this year when I not buying much, but I am receiving $US dollars US$1 = AU $1.07 and dropping . so it seems this will get worse too? <snip> Bad times are coming. They will start in March or July 2012 and last six years. <end> You wouldn't happen to have a lot of brothers and a very colourful coat would you?? if we take a historical view, perhaps we should put aside images for the next 5-6 years to see us through the following 6 years??? (this is only a joke, please take in that context)

Being in Australia, with the time difference to the US my best 'days' are actually best nights and I get in the morning and see what has happened during the night. But my best is Thursday (so Wednesday in US) which is marginally better than Wed morn (Tuesday in US). Both of which are much much better than the others but then it would be my Tuesday -> Mon -> Fri -> W'end in order. Its been like this since I started (jan / feb)
