Actually Barry says everything is OOF.  Almost as much as Jens used to say everything had noise.   ;D

Everything does have noise!

Now to the OP. Stop whining or let us see a couple of 100% pictures.

Now that is funny, the quote from Drugal alone, should tell you he has been around long enough to accurately size things up. The SS forums have become a never ending billboard for those who spam workshops to unsuspecting members. The critique forum has been unbearable for years.

Arr, so bad is it not. There are good photographers at SS, and there are qualified critiques.

Ron.
I suggest you read the copyright laws in your country.
So that you know what you have, and what you licence, by clicking here and there.
Then it makes more sence.

In short: You allow an agency to distribute your copyrighted (by you) works.
It is you who decides where to distribute.
It is also you who is responsible that your distribution does not conflict and harm the licencees..
For example, you cannot licence an image exclusively to one agency and then let it be downloaded for free on flickr.
Or sell it at other places.

« on: May 30, 2012, 06:10 »
i have had a bunch uploaded to Zoonar, but I was uncertain if i should opt in for their 6 months lock at partners.
Can anyone explain to me, why I should or should not.

Ja, and get us some sales.
so we can begin to believe.

peopleimages.com is up, up, up!!! :) hehehehe

WOW

the "hehehehe" part?
ne, just that it is a great site and a great achievement.

it has not been heard of that people were kicked out for submitting bad pictures.
I think its a leftover from the old days, when microstock started.
The reviewers will take their toll, but you should really be unwilling to improve to be kicked out.
I have not heard of it.

IF you get a warning, you should pay attention to it.

The photos are not so bad and i do not see any major flaws.
i think you should follow your route.

Robot translations does not make it trustworthy.

Right the pigments have a name.
Preussian is the same as your Phthalo Blue but indian yellow is different, it is warmer.

Well then its my time to be funny. And it is meant as humour...
relevant maybe.

Do you guys know there is such a thing as worm grunting?
Really, people do that.

To Get Worms Out of Soil, Just Grunt

1692
Painters do not work with yellow and blue.
They work with indian yellow and cobalt blue.
or maybe preussian blue if they are suicidal.

it is about white ballance, and shadows. Conflicts.

1693
Exclusivity has to do with convincing the customer that they have to pay more for something because they cannot get it at other places.
Exclusivity has a lot to do with customers and wallets.
Problem is, that on microstock exclusivity is not needed or possible. Its a fake beakon.

1694
im not getting things confused.

They say that...if you are selling your images exclusively, you get more per image.

That sounds good enough.
Sounds like an advantage.
Sounds like you earn more.
But do you?

Think again, why would they want to let you earn more. Because they get something much more valualbe in return.
And that is a trapped photographer getting 16% shares who cannot say no.

Its a honey trap. Its dependancy.

oops, i thought you said eggs.

1696
Who are those folks you are talking about?

and no.
Dont tell me.

1697
no it doesnt.
it all depends on the specifications in the contract.
You can sell more or less for a long time, or a short or for eternity.
You can sell a picture of your mother to the devil.
or you can timelimit her stay in purgatory.
Words on paper can be important.

1698
its kind of crazy.

On the net Yuri is more famous than all the royalty we have. Princes and princesses of Denmark and all.
- and he pays for himself, that is a good thing.

now let "Se og hr" come after him and begin to really speculate.

« on: May 23, 2012, 09:00 »
thats right.
But it IS funny how flaws in IT systems always work to the benifit of the agency.

Think cell phone and internet suppliers.
They are all so full of S***, and the money always flows in their direction in case of doubt.

Same old story about independents and dependants.

If the customers want exclusively so badly, they can buy the rights.
Exclusivity is only in the interest  of the agency, not the costumers and certainly not the contributors.

"buying rights" is an absurd dreamstime invention.
Well maybe the wording is dreamstimish, but not the concept.
But it is heard of that a microstocker has sold the rights and has taken the picture offline for a period of time.
Anyway, exclusivity and microstock conflicts heavily by the nature of both concepts.
Microstock is about selling masses of pop images.
The customer must search elsewhere to find a unique picture.

Compare it to books or music. People want copies of the same picture, book and music, so that it is the same. If they want unica, they buy Mona Lisa or Gutenbergs bible.
