Got the same email and have to say, glad to see it wasn't only me.
I have emailed and asked for more information as it was so incredibly vague and of course, I feel I haven't deliberately done anything wrong either.
This is a scary and sad move by SS - I really hope they can clear this up ASAP for the sake of us all, and their reputation among contributors.

Yep, same problem. And portfolio link is gone too, too see the status of uploaded images.

Seems like a move that will benefit contributors - I wonder what the catch is?

Yep review times for me have been under 1 hour, sometimes minutes. Auto-review?

When I read that e-mail, all I understood was "We taking an annoying upload system and making it more annoying for your inconvenience."
Exactly!

I am holding off also, don't need the extra hassles at the moment. Hopefully they will actually fix it soon

Found my stuff on there, thanks to the OP though, hadn't heard about it before this.
WHY did they make it look so bad though? Its certainly not an attractive site.

Have the FTP problems been fixed, or still persist? I have been holding off waiting for it to fix

Hi Zalee, no they are not partner sales, just simply the standard subscription sale. Hope that helps

Wow, I was SO close to joining with my few thousand images. They would have been my next agency to try. Decided to just give it some time, after being burnt with others in the past. So glad I delayed my decision. Sorry for those who have invested time there.

I believe you have to email them with the image id number, and explain. Not sure what they will do. Hope they are helpful though

Yeah an email went out about these changes. Much simplified categories process, and no title field.
The categories before were crazy. Eg: Animals - Fish/Birds/Pets/Miscellaneous. Pretty sure there are more animal types than that!
So its a good move overall.

New upload editor will be great (hopefully) assuming you are doing away with the flash-based version. Cant wait.
Also ditto on the video question - can you please update us on that?

Same here, requested closure of account and payout (WAY under the normal threshold) and they did both. Think I had to email Jan directly from memory to get it done.

can anyone explain how to upload a video to video hive? the help pages on their web site are completely useless.
I understand I have to make a thumbnail, preview image, and preview video, and put it in a zip file with the video. but the help does not say anything about naming files, or where the metadata goes, etc.
please help.
Their process is the most annoying by far. First of all, make all those components you mentioned but do NOT put them all in a zip. Only the main file that will be downloaded by the buyer goes in the zip. Upload them all separately. It doesn't matter what you name them. Then when you upload them (using the web form uploader, or ftp) and go the the Upload section under your dashboard section, select "Stock footage", and then fill out all the fields as required. Hope that helps.

Had about 14 video files shift from "corrupted" to completed to back to "corrupted". Re-uploaded same files, worked fine. There are obvious problems with their uploader. Also (sorry its off topic) has anyone else received emails from them like this: Our IT support is carrying out a routine housekeeping of images and found that one of your JPG image is corrupted. *Please refer to image link.
We'd like to request you to resend images: http://www.123rf.com/search.php?word=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
We have already checked the images and found that they are corrupted. Thus, we have rejected the images to temporary halt the downloading of the corrupted file further.
*Kindly ZIP and ATTACH the file to us through email so that we can replace the images immediately to avoid any interruption of sales.
Thank you.where XXXXXXX is a file number? I've had two this week. They look legit, and include my real name and the 123RF footer banner. I've emailed support to find out, but haven't heard back yet. Strange that files that have been live for years are now suddenly "corrupted" - and multiple ones, not just one.

I'm having Deja Vu. So they're cutting commission percentage but we'll make up the difference from increased sale volume? Where have I heard this before?
Exactly. Sad to see Shutterstock going down this path. And a bit nerve-wracking for those of us who depend on this industry for our livelihood.

I have good news for video content providers. Fotolia has just been updated so the system will read embedded keywords (the keywords that you add through software programs such as Bridge and Premiere) in your uploaded video clips. In addition, the system will read the "description" metadata and will add this as the title of the clip in the indexing tool. This should speed the submission process up for you considerably. We are working hard to create new tools to make uploading new content to Fotolia and Adobe Stock a seamless process so stay tuned!

Brilliant, thanks Mat. Great move in the right direction.
