It's back !!   Despite all the down time if sales continue the second half of the month like they have been for the first half I will have a BME there.

OK thanks.  Not sure if I am part of it or not as I haven't heard of it.
IIRC, if you're in Fotolia, you're likely to be in it. I think you were 'in' by default, but part of the campaign was only to be 'opt in'. You'd need to check.
Thank you.  I will check it out.

In case you miss it, I've added the msg links to my earlier post.

Thank you.  I've checked it out and my images are there.  I make between 31c and 42c for sub images at Fot.   I might be missing something but why is this any worse than any other site that does subs?

Because a basic subscription image pack at DPC starts at only $10.
Subscription profits mainly come from higher pricing points (say $100 for a subscription), buyers not using all of their allotted downloads and expiring downloads after the end of the month.

DPC's doesn't have any of those limits, so a subscription package is basically a disguised credit pack for cheap, for which you'll receive subscription royalties. It will in the end erode your credit sales if buyers would walk over to DPC. That's why DPC is good for Fotolio (more market share), but bad news for us contributors.
Thank you for the explanation.

There is no greater feeling than selling your art for .35!
There is no greater feeling than selling the same image over and over again for years even at .35c a pop.   Some images end up making you thousands in the end.

I've had 5 sales today all subs!!!  Should be 20 -30 subs at this time of day with some credit sales as well.  It's worse than a Sunday

It's back again - but this is playing havoc with the earnings.

Yeah the new rate is 14 cents for a frakking image I see  >:(
I've never had a sale for less than 36c there.   My RPD is 1.23c this year which beats some other supposedly better sites.

I upload to about dozen or so sites but I have never heard of any of the 3 you mentioned which makes me think that they are probably not good sellers.
Oops sorry didn't realize that you were talking about Macro.  No need for somebody to give me a minus for not knowing them as this is a microstock site. ;)
It wisnae me!
Did nae think it was.  :D

Istock has gone from being my outright winner several years back to about 6th or 7th place in earnings.   I rarely bother uploading there nowadays.  It doesn't seem worth all the effort when places like 123rf with an easy upload perform better.
Wow, 6th/7th place. Who is in your 1st and 2nd place?
IMHO who has the better management for uploading is Photodune also Shutter with drag&drop and indexing link.
Shutterstock
Fotolia
Dreamstime
123rf
Then depending on the month IS, Big Stock, Photodune, Deposit all fighting for 5th place.
Back in 2009 I used to have over 1000 dls a month at Istock, last month I had 50 credit dls.

One year later. Has anything changed in the microstock business?
Not for the better but then when does anything ever change for the better in the microstock business !!

Some upload changes observed

> Ability to upload multiple images via webform uploader
> No more Descriptive and Conceptual Categories. Only one 'Category' which is a 3-level one
> Exclusivity? and Free section? default to a 'No'
> Only 'XS' and 'X' shown
> Between 7 and 30 keywords in their order of importance (not 50 as before)

If they are going to change the max keywords to something less than the standard - that is going to mess with a lot of people keywording.  I guess it's important to keep the keywords in order of importance so that if they get trimmed by a site, only the least important words will get clipped.
I hope that doesn't mean that they are going to cut already uploaded images down to 30 keywords.

I keep getting errors because I haven't completely indexed, whatever that means, and I have no idea what I haven't done
That may mean that you have uploaded images that need finishing off and sending for review

Re.: Earnings
Showing Earnings is ok now.
New captcha!
So, I was right, thay upgraded site, w/o telling us that some problems can occur.
I do not know what is with uploading problem...
My captcha is exactly the same as always.   The earnings usually open fine first thing in the morning europe time but then get worse as the day goes on.
On a better note I had my BDE there yesterday thanks mostly to a 40$ EL and a couple of  XL Tiffs.  I thought I was seeing things but it made up for Easter :D
