"Any Building Exterior that is famous for its architectural design and is a Main Focus of the Image"
I'm not so sure that the power plant is famous for its architectural design, but fair enough to put it in editorial.

SS doesn't much care for cloudy weather lighting, so they will usually get rejected lighting or WB or whatever.
Also the first one looks pretty overprocessed to me, it just doesn't look natural at all. (not that that is a problem for many of the best sellers, but that is my take on it).

Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is enemy action.
but people also say never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence.
I must say that I am awfully glad I don't really have to worry about this much anymore and I'd be glad to see the buyers go to places that treat us better and keep things running better.

I am guessing that the shorter the subs plan the more likely a subscriber is to download their full limit. The real money to be made on subs is when the buyers don't use them all. DT discovered that the short subs plans weren't making them enough money, so they dropped them.

The higher commissions for level 3 and up images and the fact that subs move images up the levels are the only really good things about the DT subs program. I'd be sorry to see them be reduced or be removed completely. The <.35 subs there are also not good.

As long as SS is happy to only make money hand over fist with 20-30% payout to contributors they can avoid making any evil changes. If they start losing market share to something like stinkstock or they get bought out then all bets are off. I agree if IS was still going it alone they could have continued w/o any of the unsustainable whining and commission cuts they have made.

They announced that well over a year ago, but maybe haven't been enforcing it. There is an easy solution though.

I wish they would just keep you from auto logging out every hour or so. Make a login last 24 hours, or at least 12.

My guess is that they will tie themselves up in knots with an even more complex system, either adapting or abandoning the existing RC targets, in a smoke-and-mirrors exercise designed to obfuscate and confuse.
This will probably be the first major announcement from Rebbecca too __ something for us all to look forward to perhaps.
I am predicting some sort of way that they can boost RC for their chosen people - double RC for Vetta or something like that. Whatever it is it will be pre-announced leading to a lot of speculation and then announced poorly - so nobody really knows what they said. Finally it will be explained and be underwhelming for most. - or maybe they will just admit the low sales and drop RC targets or keep the RC targets about where they are and grab a greater percentage of less for next year.

I don't have many clips, but I do have one that sold fairly consistently for a year or 2. I was pretty saddened when they dropped the commissions (and I think they dropped them too much). Perhaps this will re-balance things a bit.
This does vaguely imply that we make under 30% on sub sales. I'd really like to see the regular subs commission go up.

Well today is about 15% compared to the last few days, but I hope that is just normal ebb and flow. At least they were .38 sales.

SS is rocking, IS is dead to me, DT just went from really low RPD to decent w/ 2 ELs - but ELs are so low at DT with the lower credit and percentage now. Veer is also doing well. No complaints (except for IS, but like I said - they are dead to me).

While not as impressive as Dr. Mellimage, I did finally make it to the .38 club at SS (well, I made enough earnings, I haven't actually gotten any .38 yet).

I would expect people who are disillusioned with microstock to just stop uploading, so they would still appear to be a contributor, but not an active one.

I got a reply from support after they asked about the image number. They were somewhat vague but said that it could be a partner or a referral. I replied that the page listing our returns only listed .35, .70, and 1.05 for indy subs. I was told that that page represents the maximum value. When I said that page should show the range I was told that the ranges were too complex but that they would update it.
Basically it looks like for whatever reason our commissions are being cut again by DT. frustrating. Last time they dropped our commissions my earnings there took about a year to recover.

My feedback is 25% is too low.

RPE (Return Per Effort) makes more sense than RPI.
or at least for multiple sites, RPI (where the I = images uploaded, not accepted).
For example back when SS took them, random background texture shots were pretty low sellers, but they took almost no effort, so they still had a decent RPE. Now that they are mostly rejected - they aren't worth the effort. (but the old ones submitted back in the day are still there selling every once in a while).

It still says
"Upload Stopped Sorry to inform that uploads will be temporarily stopped to facilitate a scheduled maintenance of our storage system. "
for me

I'm getting
"Upload Stopped Sorry to inform that uploads will be temporarily stopped to facilitate a scheduled maintenance of our storage system. "
when I try to process the files I uploaded via FTP.

To get back on subject,
another BME for me, thanks to mainly to great performance at SS (5 ELS makes a nice bump), Alamy (my first triple digit sale), and Veer. The smaller sites were all in the average range. IS was pathetic, but that is to be expected w/ most of my images disabled - I did get a decent RPD since they are all + images though.

Since FT uncoupled contributor rates from the price buyers pay for images, a price rise there is nothing to get excited about.
Except it might send buyers elsewhere.

I get the credit variation spiel - but in all the subscription sales I've received from DT since June, it's been 35 cents per for images at levels 0-1-2.
Credit sales are often less than subs (for small sizes), but are below 35 cent subscription sales common for other people and I've just been lucky so far?
I think the original subs payout was .30 (back in 2008 or so). I haven't gotten a sub that wasn't .35 (or .70 or 1.05) in years. I can't think of anything good about it. Either they aren't reporting things right or else there is the possibility of under .35 subs, neither is a good thing. The credit variation spiel is their canned response to any question about why was I paid X for a sale (I've gotten as low as .17 for a credit I think, although I could be wrong about that. - whatever it was it was pretty low).

Is there a new property release policy? I recently had an image of a power plant rejected for no property release - (this is an exterior view from across a major highway). I looked on the 123 site and in a brief search could not find a power plant image with a property release. On the blog they had some PR guidelines...
" Any Interior of properties that is individually owned or by an Organization.
Places that require an entrance fee (eg ; Museums, War Memorial Sites, Theaters, Music Halls, Performing Art Centers, Amusement Park Rides)
Any Building Exterior that is famous for its architectural design and is a Main Focus of the Image
Any property that is governed by its local law or UNESCO World Heritage Committee (exceptions: Statue of Liberty, Big Ben Clock Tower, The Eiffel Tower in the Daytime)
Statues below 70 years ( built AFTER 1950s)
Cruise and Cargo Ships with visible logo, initials or numbers
Paintings, Murals or any kind of artwork (Hand-drawn/painted) by other person(s) and yourself "
It seems like the power plant isn't included in this list, but I could be wrong. Pretty much everything that isn't natural or before 1923 but not famous now requires a PR?
This seems like a major policy change if it is in fact true and pretty much limits us to nature pics and nudes.
