What do you normally get for 4k or HD video at Depositphotos? I'm in the process of uploading.

Use Google image search and use a thumbnail of your clip. I just found a few productions that way.
Or search your username. I think that's it. 1804
Pond5 / Re: Pond5 Sales Reporting« on: April 14, 2016, 12:41 »
Relax. Pond5 is many, many times bigger than RevoStock ever was, which was almost a one-man operation (well, small team). I don't think it's going anywhere soon, it's just a matter of it still being #1 in footage sales or not.
It has been my best earner for a couple of years now so it would really suck if it went south, but of course, someone else will be quick to pick up the market share. 1805

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 Sales Reporting« on: April 14, 2016, 06:03 »
Oh, so I'm not the only one? I just thought sales were bad, so that's kind of a relief. It has happened a few times before just before payday, but not several days like now. I usually sell multiple files every day.

General Stock Discussion / Re: What data do you track?« on: April 13, 2016, 06:10 »
I track what has been uploaded where, monthly income and best-sellers. If I need statistics on a certain file it's easy to get from most sites.

Yup, it takes time to get the ball rolling. Jag r ocks frn Sverige.
Now, after about 8 months I'm starting to see regular sales from all the sites. I have around 500 clips at the moment. This last week especially has been quite good with sales every day, which has not been common for me before. Maybe April is just always like that? Pond5 generally report less views than for example Fotolia, but I sell more there. Go figure. 1811
Pond5 / Re: Pond5 Sales Reporting« on: April 05, 2016, 14:40 »
They always report three days after (with a few exceptions), with an e-mail usually around the exact same time. It has never been real-time.
Sometimes, however, the system seems to skip a day and adds those sales to the next day. It's never faster than three days. This usually happens around payday. 1812

General - Stock Video / Re: To which agencies do you submit your footage?« on: March 11, 2016, 04:51 »iStock has been ok for me recently. I get a few sales from Fotolia and Motion Elements, but nothing to write home about. Most of my sales are from VideoHive, as I had a large exclusive portfolio there before I started focusing more on non-exclusive last year. Aside from them, I've not found a site better than Pond5 for video... VB is looking promising though, but time will tell. You mentioned your portfolio at VideoHive is exclusive, so I take it those 274 clips aren't available at the other sites. This makes it hard to compare. Maybe you made more commercially successful items for VH? 1814

Well, that depends on what you can afford. Do it this way instead: Come up with the maximum amount you want to spend and find the closest thing to that. A used semi-pro (XXD) model is always a nice idea instead of a new XXXXD or XXXD.

It's reflex, and by that he means a DSLR. You won't get perfectly smooth results with the GoPro because it can't shoot in fully manual mode. This will result in ugly flicker almost every time. Any small light change will give you flicker that's a pain to remove, and it will almost never be perfect. If you're not looking for perfectly smooth, then anything will do. Just remember that anything set to "Auto", whether it's white balance, shutter speed, aperture, etc. will make the time-lapse look quite unprofessional. The only thing that will give you smooth, nice, time-lapses is a real camera, like a DSLR or mirrorless that can shoot in full manual mode. There are many small ones these days and it doesn't have to be a very expensive one. If there's an app for your smartphone that lets you do a time-lapse with FULL control over every setting (and lets you LOCK it), that could work really well. So far, I have always found something that ruins it though, but haven't checked all the apps in a while... Given the choice between an action cam and a smartphone I would pick a smartphone and try to find a good app. Still pictures from the GoPros aren't that great, and a good app might let you have the control you need over a smartphone. 1816
General - Stock Video / Re: Clip exhibits issues related to frame rate« on: March 02, 2016, 06:32 »
Shooting at 50p and exporting at 25p is only good for smooth SLOW MOTION. If you want real time you will just delete every second frame if you export 25p. If you want smooth motion for quick subjects in real time you need to export 50p. Also, if you have a shutter speed of 1/25 when recording 50p every second frame will be a duplicate = no benefits at all. You should then shoot 25p, and only if the light is low and demands it. This doesn't even work on most cameras. Unless you want slow motion, always shoot at the same settings you want to export. If you shoot 50p the "correct" shutter speed would be 1/100th of a second, giving you too little motion blur if your intended output is 25p in real time. 1817
General - Stock Video / Re: So, how much money Revostock owe you? Let's sum up the total.« on: February 26, 2016, 01:52 »I wonder, is this list completed and accurate?I would guess it represents just a very small percent of total monies owed to contributors, as surely the majority do not come to MSG. Or am I totally wrong? I guess there's no way to know for sure. That is probably very true. I only first found this forum when I was searching for "Revostock payments". I think it's safe to assume that the amount owed is at least $100,000. 1818

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 cuts out contributors with membership product to take 100% commission.« on: February 25, 2016, 13:17 »$49 per month. This P5 product has almost 2x the videos and is 1/2 the price of videoblocks...Thoughts on how this analysis is wrong? Yes, Videoblocks costs $99 per YEAR = $8.25 per month with unlimited downloads. Pond5 costs $349 to $599 per year for 60-120 downloads. Quite a big difference and not even close to competing on price... 1820

The lawsuit happened a long time ago now. He said himself that at least this year OUR money was spent on "new marketing methods", going to forums etc., not covering legal fees. I think he was an honest guy but kind of broke down and panicked. Made some horrible decisions involving stealing other people's money. I think he's going to have a tough time now since he's not really anonymous, anyone can message him on Facebook etc.

Wow, 12k, that's the biggest I've seen so far. This leads me to believe that the total owed is MUCH more than $100,000. I guess it can be as high as $500,000. They must have been making some serious money.

Well, that would be the "tax man" for each and every country the authors are from. That's not really the issue here though so let's not get too far off track.
