LOL best answer yet.
I would wonder why my sales had halved ...

Thanks for sharing, very interesting. At least I know that I am photographing the right things :)

1. Quit day job FINALLY!!!
2. Do full time shooting
3. Rent a studio

Oh well it was only a theory ;)
Maybe it's nothing more sinister than a glitch in the system and it's a lot more random than some of us thought.

fotografer wrote: My theory is that if you have a good acceptance rate there, mine is close on 100%, then your images get to the front of the queue.

My acceptance rate is also close to 100%...so I don't think rating scores are the problem.  ;)

There is definitely inconsistency between contributors going on there. I uploaded my latest images and when I checked back a couple of hours later they were already approved. My theory is that if you have a good acceptance rate there, mine is close on 100%, then your images get to the front of the queue. Also my images that have been up for 2 or 3 weeks have been selling well. Some of them having over 150 views. Maybe placing in the searches is also related to acceptance rate.

Happy birthdayand have a wonderful day

I agee, if you want to use Leaf's forum for pimping then at least have the decency to pay him for an advertising slot then people would be a lot more willing to take seriously what you have to say.

Before I started selling my images I thought that Royalty Free meant that they were free.

1859
Well I don't believe that you're Atilla, you look far too nice ;)

Yes....but maybe not in a good way. LOL

The thread was posted 18th April on SS and I'm almost 100% certain that Sean is wrong and that it appeared the same day on IS as I saw it for the first time on IS that same day and it only had one reply when I saw it.

lol, why would someone post in his name such helpful information? :D He obviously is not a bot, he is replying to postings in this and other threads ;)

The thread got deleted on istock??

it seems strange that Yuri would submit an old IS thread here. although, you are right, he has been here several times in the past year as i recognize the avatar .
then again, Yuri never comes in here unless he had something troubling him or to point out something unpleasant eg. the case with his model .  but i am sure it is him.

I agree.  I have an image that was refused by IStock that has made me 500$ just from Dreamstime and is my bestseller there.

Me exclusivity experience, 1 file rejected from IStockphoto for "not stock oriented" goes on to become my all time best seller at other agencies bringing in over $2000 for one file alone. Exclusivity? thanks but no thanks.

I hate to  admit to being such an idiot on a public forum but I just assumed that it hadn't been paid because I didn't receive my usual e.mails from 123rf nor paypal so I stupidly assumed that it hadn't been paid when in fact I received it on the 15th.  :-[

1863
Yes sure.  His post is still up on the SS forums in his name.

1864
Yuri posted the same post at Istock and it looks llike it has been deleted. ???

Things seem to be picking up there the last few days.  Lots more credit sales and just had a set of images reviewed overnight.  :)

Hi Lisa, I'm a diamond independent and my average for this year is 1.26$.  I like you have virtually 100% model released shots so I don't know why your average is lower.  I guess it's just luck as I upload to 7 different sites so it's easy to get hold of my larger sizes at a cheaper price.

Thanks for the encouragement Sharply :)

It has also been hypothesized in the istock forums that with istock's prices for larger images being high some price conscious buyers who need large sizes may buy them from other outlets in the case of non-exclusive shooters.

Not sure if that's true, but it may explain the lower average.  Hard to know for sure without knowing the $/DL average of other diamond independents.

I agree with you as far as stock photography is concerned I would do a course with Sean but not the other 2  but would love a portrait course with Rinder.

A seminar from Rinder/Locke/Deal would certainly be worth 600$.

Flemish, Sean is in a different league to the other two, and would probably be worth $590 of the total amount.

Is yours showing as being paid on the 15th?

I'm sure we (who didn't receive it) will receive it soon.

Mine's 1.26$ average so far this year at IS compared to 1.74$ at DT and 1.48 at FT

... However when I remember that my average $ per DL on istock is $1.10 I feel better :).

Just out of curiosity, what time span does this cover?
My average is $1.43 per DL so far this year - if your $1.10 is over a similar period I'll be quite surprised at the wide variation possible in this figure.

Has anybody received there paypal pay out from !23 this month?  Mine is showing as being paid on 15th April but I haven't received anything yet.
Thanks

One of the things that would possibly encourage me to upload to a new site is easy uploading using the same system as 123rf or SS and no catagories. If uploading is painful then there is no way I would upload to an unproven site.
