Thank you for your prompt answers Matt.

I'm amazed at the number of views all my files are getting.I hope this translated into some sales in future. I could be wrong but it seems that the number of views increments when I view my own files. In any case, the numbers are still high.

I can understand some level of targeted marketing, but also, by now everybody should be used to seeing faces of people of all races at least...

One word for this.  Redonkulous.

Does it surprise me?  Not a bit.  Pretty soon we'll have to show them a video clip of the person signing it, as well as the models SS# and scan of their birth certificate.  Give me a freakin break.
I totally agree. I also shoot my son or friends and to require them to sign it every day we make a single picture is really too much.

In my view 5% is ridiculously high for a referral __ especially if it is 'for life'.
SS pays 3 cents. I believe their percentage is even higher compared to what contributors get.

I don't believe you will have any trouble with US tax authorities when traveling to the US. However, SS is deducting taxes from you and they have to justify it. That is why they are asking for your information so they can put it in their claims. In other words, you can only have trouble with SS, not IRS (US tax authority).

Requested payout on the 17th. Still waiting...
I just got my payout today through Paypal. It took 8 days.

John,
With CC, I always check "CC algorithm" when submitting photos. Can you tell us how is that price determined?

Another question, recently I got a bid from a buyer for one of my pictures. Is the price quoted the full price that the buyer is going to pay, or the contributors part only?

Thank you,
Denis

91% and 68% for me. I had one false positive. Very interesting and fun! :)

since I am from a non-treaty country, and I don't like disclosing my personal data to anyone, and they are taking my 30% either way, do I have to fill the form? If they take my money and file it to IRS, what for should I fill in any forms?
I believe you have to fill the form because SS is required by law to collect this data. They will not take 30% of the earnings but only the part that came from the US buyers. That is, you are being taxed on the income from the US sources only.

Am I correct in thinking that this applies only to Non-US residents?
Yes.

Makes sense as SCSI adapters are scanned early in the BIOS boot process. However, I would have still expected at least some printout form the BIOS before reaching SCSI adapter. It must have been some electrical issue. In any case, it's good that your computer is OK.

Are you on modelmayhem.com? It's a great site for connecting models and photographers.

if you are employed in consumer staples, does that mean you are a "stapler"
People working in Google are called googlers :)

BTW, electrical engineer here, working as a software engineer.

I'm sorry about your rejections. I remember your thread from some time ago. I think you should really try to post your pictures on this forum, or even better, to get someone to post your pictures on the IS forum BEFORE the application. I would submit another application only after receiving positive reviews on the IS forum.

I had one image pending for 3 weeks, constantly displaying 1 hour estimated time. I had to write them to review it eventually.

For me, the earnings are currently about the same from both StockXpert and JIU/Photos.com. I hope StockXpert will be allowed to continue as it is usually number 3 or 4 site for me, together with FT.

I was paid today too, only a couple of days from my request.

If you used the same cable to connect to your laptop as well, then it might be the output connector of the G5. You might want to check the pins on the connector to see if there is a loose or dirty one. Of course, as Whitechild said, it could be the cable from the graphics card to the output connector or the card itself. Cleaning all the contacts from the graphics card to the monitor might help.

General Stock Discussion / Re: BigStock Raises Payout To $50
« on: August 19, 2009, 18:11 »
That's a shame as I'm close to $30. After an improvement in sales in May and June, BigStock is very quiet for me now so I may have to wait for a while longer for a payout.

Oh OK. Thanks sc. Now I see the two columns there. They are just empty for my previous payouts. I guess my next payout will have that info.

I don't have a "Click for Details" link or a "+" sign on my Details page.
Thanks epantha. I also don't' have "Click for Details" or a "+" sign there.
